He's got a couple projects coming out that look pretty cool, but I'm most excited about this one. Always been a fan, but this looks especially promising. I dunno, for me POTC got a bit old, but Johnny Depp (and Geoffrey Rush) were always awesome in it.
Nice to see Secret Window getting some love here!

Oh, Secret Window was awesome.
I enjoyed the Pirates movies (progressively less with each offering, though), but not so much because of Depp. Geoffrey Rush was awesome.

I can vouch for Ink. It had an interesting theme and I thought it would make a great setting for a rpg. It didn't have that 'theatre' quality, but then again, it is an indie film. It isn't as mind-bending as Momento or Mullholland Dr. but was clever and thought-provoking.
Looking forward to SP vs. the World.

Okay, so I got a moment to watch the Ink trailer, and I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed. Now I want to see the actual movie. I'm pretty sure I'll end up disappointed, but the trailer did look great.
Also... was that the dude from Leverage and the Taco Bell commercial?

I'd like to just jump onto the Johnny Depp hate-train real quick.

I think Depp has been pretty great in just about everything, but his presence in movies is getting a little overhyped these days. Not that that's necessarily his fault. I doubt he has all that much control over the way studios and the media spin his life.

He's been horribly type-cast, that's my issue. Otherwise he is very talented (he just has a much wider range of talent than he's been able to showcase lately) and frankly he's pretty gorgeous.

His gorgeousness is somehow lost on me. ;D
Also, I call into question his "range." I've never seen it. He's not as bad as say, Will Smith, but Johnny Depp pretty much plays Johnny Depp in everything.

I dunno about that. I think he's got a lot of range to him. I would say that Captain Jack Sparrow, Ichabod Crane, and Raoul Duke are all pretty different.
I think the thing is Johnny Depp has a very recognizable style, sort of the way Jack Nicholson does, another actor who often gets criticized for having no range, or doing the same thing. However, his roles in "Five Easy Pieces", "Chinatown", and onward are all different from one another in difference ways.
I'm biased though, I think. I'm a big Johnny Depp fan, and not just because he's gorgeous, he's talented, concentrates on defining his characters, has a suitcase full of beards, and has some pretty cool methods of bringing characters to life. He has a really awesome focus on vocalization when it comes to bringing out his characters, so the voice acting gig is simply perfect for him.
And glad to see "Ink" is getting some attention. It was really fascinating to watch. At first I had sort of a "meh" reaction, but within... I'd say a few minutes of a film, I was totally invested. The lore, the characters, the imagery, all of it awesome.

He has range, but I definitely forgive people for not seeing it. He plays a lot of the same roles lately. But yeah, OLW mentioned a few of his more varied roles. You can throw in Finding Neverland and Fear and Loathing and a few others.
EDIT: Orlando Bloom doesn't think he's gorgeous either, WK:

I was all about Orlando Bloom when I saw LOTR: Fellowship...
And then he started getting these movies where he actually talked. I would always just go: Shhh. Shhh. The less you say, the better you are.
Though, to the dude's credit, he went back to acting school since POTC. I can't help but applaud the guy for that.

So... Last Airbender scored 5% on Rotten Tomatoes with 40 reviews. I wish I had enough ignorance to just shrug it off and say I dont care... but part of me wants to cry, so I'll do my best not to say anything at all.

I'm going to see it at 11:30 today (Airbender that is). I have very little hope, but my children are excited.
As to Depp... sorry, I just don't see it, and I certainly don't see Crane & Sparrow as evidence of it. Both of them came across as Johnny Depp "pulling a face" as my Grandfather used to say. And Nicholson is NOT getting a bad rap for doing the same thing over and over... he's constantly heralded as a great actor and he IS doing the same thing over and over. Chinatown was forever ago. Let's look at everything he's done in the last 20 years, and be realistic. The same goes for Pacino and Deniro. They may have been great actors once, but they stopped having to act, and forgot how.

Seriously, Pacino and Deniro.. what happened to those guys? It's like they forgot who they are or something.
Airbender is up to 6% at Rotten Tomatoes. -_-' That sucks. I saw it coming, but it still sucks.

From what I've heard, Shyamalan basically sapped out everything that made the show what it was. The series wasn't a grimdark mopefest, man! It had color, and laughter, and warmth! I don't understand how the guy that made Unbreakable, one of my favorite movies, can keep making such disjointed films. The worst part is I think he means well and is really trying to make compelling stuff, but I don't know. The guy is losing his way.
