What if I bought Invisibility with the -1 CL "Only through other Action" Disadvantage: can only render solid light constructs invisible, including his Radient Armor (Toughness). Is this buying a (limited) Advantage (Area Effect) for a Disadvantage price? I was separating that particular Action from the Mastery so I could make his "constructs" invisible, otherwise it eats up his Mastery stones too quickly...looking for alternate routes.

Zeig, Paladin looks great! I like that she's a do-gooder, but she sort of has her own definition of good, and she's damn scary about her methods. That's very interesting. I really do like the Immolation + Power Up idea.
She seems well-balanced: she has high energy, but little in terms of defensive modifiers (just her armor, really), so it's quite fair.
I'm not quite clear about how the "only through immolation" works. Do the victims have to be injured by the aura, or does it just have to be on? And when Immolation gets shut off, does that happen before her touch attack, or after? And when it's shut off, does it come back on automatically after 1 page, or do you have to turn it back on again?
Also, for the telepathy, if you can only do it by touch, it means you have to keep touching the person if you want to keep controlling them. That might be tricky. If you can find an extra stone and invest in "create links" for +1 CL, you can spend 1 extra stone of effect to set up a link once you're inside someone's head - then the control will keep working even after you stop touching them.
Really like the concept, though. The rest is just tinkering. Great job!

Oh, well, if you don't want to be able to turn yourself invisible, just your constructs, we can probably make that a Feat or something. Maybe if you spend 2 extra stones, the construct turns invisible? Like, say, you build a light vehicle, and now you're paying for upkeep. In addition to the usual 2 stones to keep the vehicle around, you toss in 2 more and it effectively disappears? I dunno. I find this to be a weird idea. ^__^ ~TWF

The way I was envisioning it was that the aura just has to be on for her to be able to use them, and when Immolation gets shut off it happens after the touch attack, and it comes back on automatically after 1 page. Nuts. Well, looks like I'll have to find that stone for Create Links! Thanks again! I think I still prefer American Eagle, but Paladin's pretty darn cool too. Once all the CADs come in I'll make my final decision.

They're both pretty awesome, but my vote's for Eagle! So I browsed pics for hours looking for one to bastardize for my own uses, and I decided to go with Starman and a couple illumination effects...it changes the flavor some, but I like it! I'm pretty close to done tweaking the CAD, just ironing out the background.

That's what this thread is all about, Goats. ^__^ Are you still liking your mystical bruiser concept? ~TWF I'm torn between two paths off the same basic concept On one end I have the original idea I picked, which is like this hellboy paranormal enforcer guy But on the other I have this idea for a Master of Magic, but I think you said that you dont have the rules set out for that yet....

I really like the ex-mob bruiser, paranormal enforcer concept a lot. Just to throw my two cents in.

Honestly I agree with Zeig, the Magical Bruiser really does sound like it's cool, and you might be able to fit a small amout of MoM in there to flesh out the character.

Yeah, I don't have Mastery of Magic running yet. It sort of adds a whole new dimension to the game, and I'm not really finished with this one, yet. I'm semi-testing a similar system to what I have in mind in my Buffy game, but that's moving pretty slowly so I don't think I'll be getting results soon.
The basic idea is to make it more like the Mastery of Elements action: what you can do is largely determined by specialties. It's tricky to work, though, as comic book writers (and indeed most writers in all media) have long used magic as an excuse to make weird stuff happen. Basically, if the writer wants it to happen, the magic works - if they don't want it to happen, the magic doesn't work. That's really hard to write down as a game mechanic. ^__^
I like the idea of a hellboy-ish bruiser. Do you have any Actions and stuff in mind?
