Guess my old account got deleted due to the couple of years of idleness... I'm back with a modified name now, should anyone remember. Looking forward to maybe jumping in a game or 2 here if any spots are open.

My recent Marvel:New World game still has two openings left. It is basically doing our own version of the Marvel universe and we started off by forming our own Avengers. You can play as a canonical or original, though I am favoring canon characters right now. Stone Count is 60+20 challenge stones. My other game that I am hosting, Multiverse:Shattered Dimensions is available too. Stone count is unlimited as you can play any character from any comic book, movie, tv show, etc.

Thanks TakeWithFood (which could not possibly have been your name back then because I don't see how I could have forgotten a name like that )

Yeah, I'm not sure if we were contemporaries - I've only been around for about two and a half years - but I saw your name and a lot of your posts around when I first joined. ^__^

Welcome back Sphynx! I had the same problem when I came back to the boards last year, my old account (Symeon) is long since deleted due to the idleness. Looking forward to seeing you in game again soon.

Another 'returnee'. I doubt anyone will remember me, mind (especially since I can't remember my exact login name anyway. I *think* it was Tomahawk, or Tom-a-hawk or something like that). Time, another kid ( *arggh!* ) and a less hectic schedule have let me search out a few of my old haunts again. Nature of the play by post beast (or indeed, anything you do day in, day out) means you will 'burn out' at some point. Trick is to manage your time. I'm still learning that bit. Posting in here because I do remember Sphynx. You and I were in a lot of games (either ones I ran or ones you ran, or ones we both played in) together. Had some good times. Think one of my games was 'All this and World War II' (named after the marvel SH adventure) which never got finished before real life dragged me away. Anyway, just want to say 'hi' to all. I recognise quite a few names on here, but it was years ago, so my old brain might still be a bit muddled! Cheers! (oh, and this is where I got the new handle from. A 'no prize' for guessing which RPG this picture appears in. Hint: I'm British, and I started with RPGs in 1980, so it won't be a recent game...)

Welcome back boss. Don't remember either name, but us old guys gotta stick together. So, what game is that? Champions?

Similar era but the clue was in the hint I gave... I think Champions was an American game. I must have a better memory than you (or at least, you're more memorable than I am). Aren't you from Holland? David? OR it may be someone else I'm thinking of (my memory ain't that great). Anyhow, I'll ease myself in gently before playing/running any games, especially as I'd need to dig my books out.
I keep toying with the idea of using MURPG with a D10 rolled for every stone, 10s explode (1s cancel out a bonus die) and modifiers add +7 per stone. Haven't figured out Health score using that system, maybe 20 points per health stone. Still pondering.

Yeah, memorable might be one word... I was the first guy to pass i3ullseye in post totals back in the day. And it was usually because I was overly aggressive back then in trying to make sure everyone realized their way wasn't always the 'right' (nor necessarily wrong) way. Had more posts under Rules Discussions than all other areas combined... Anyhoots, yeah, still living in the Netherlands, and still going by the name David. Feel free to make characters for either game (40 stone New Avengers or 32+8cap Stones for Apocalypse) if'n you want to edge back into the games here, be glad to have you in either. New Avengers should take off on Monday, Apocalypse is pre-existing for a couple of weeks now...

You were even more omnipresent than I was on these boards, and I was on every day several times... I'll take a look at the books when I get home (be late today) and knock something up over the weekend. I tend to go for musclebound or psychic types but will take a look in the threads and see what slots are free, cheers

I, uh, I actually think I recognize the name Tomahawk, although I could be attributing that falsely. Have you tried poking around the member directory?

Just took a look, not there any more *shrug*. No matter, will start from scratch As for the game the above picture was from, I guess it's more obscure than I thought Games Workshop got onto the superhero rpg bandwagon with 'Golden Heroes' (re-released a few years ago as 'Squadron UK', same game, different art, few tweaks, by the same author) Aside from the above artwork, it also has a combat system that plays as well as any I've yet come across for play by post supers, in that rounds are split into comic book frames (4/round, though more powerful characters may have 5 frames or more) with each frame allowing movement, an attack, skill use, two frames used for superpowers and certain attacks like throwing. May sound clunky but combat really flows. I've been running a PbP game for a couple of years using the rules and whilst the game is somewhat limited at the higher power level, it does street-mid level fine and the combat never bogs down or takes ages. Anyway, that was a shortened 'potted' history/review of the game. Not really relevant save to explain where the previous picture (and my forum handle comes from ) Hmmm. I'm rambling. Do that after 11+ hours driving trains Zzzzzzzzz
