Now I realize that this an action that actually already exists. It is, in fact, part of Energy Absorption/Reflection and an option to Telepathy. I'd figure the cost to get an action that automatically reflects an attack would be AN+2 or AN+3. (Although, if you take Telepathy with the Reflect Mental Attacks and the Can't Read Minds options you'd get it for AN+1, and you'd get Mental Defense as a bonus)
I'm also thinking of expanding this action to other forms of attacks. A counterattack for Close Combat, and reflecting bullets for Ranged Combat.
Any thoughts on this?

Cool idea.
At +2 or +3?
Not so much. That's an incredibly powerful ability. I might want to up the cost.

There are reasons for the low cost: 1. It's an action, which means that you must use one of your (2) actions for the counterattack. 2. You can't reflect more than your Action Number. 3. You can only select one ''element'' (Energy, Magic, Melee, Mental, Projectiles)
Compare this with Energy Absorption/Reflection where you can: - Reflect attacks, as I just described. - Absorb up to twice your AN into your reserve - Negate damage.

Got ya covered.I'm sure more people put a price on it before I did. +2 is about what most of us came up with, so it's likely where you'll end up

GAH i love Malice's dash action! Too bad hardly any GM accept that action but the counter thing looks good. Couldn't you just make "Counter" as a specialty in your close/ranged combat?

but the counter thing looks good. Couldn't you just make "Counter" as a specialty in your close/ranged combat? Specializations help you overcome sit mods or gain them. They don't give you brand new powerful options on your action like "I turn their attack back on them automatically," that's what advantages are for. +2 to any action that can allocate to defense seems fair for a counter attack. Glad you like the Dash action

This may work better as a Modifier than as an Action.
CL = MN+2 Select one attack origin (physical, energy, magical, mental) and a distance (ranged, melee). For every MN, you may reflect two stones of damage that come at you from the given "source" (Physical Melee, Ranged Energy, etc.). The damage you reflect is the same as its "source;" reflecting a punch will result in a physical melee attack countering the damage; reflecting a magical blast will result in a magical blast shot back at the target. Stones must be redirected immediately or they are lost. Reflection from this Modifier cannot stack with other Actions or Modifiers including, but not limited to, Claws, Targeting, and Energy Absorption/Reflection.
Options +2 CL: Protect you from damage equal to MN from "source" +1 CL: Add one additional "source" to the Modifier's breadth +1 CL: Able to select a target for the redirect other than the originator if the "source," pending it actually makes sense
Basically, you have a simple Modifier that allows for counters and redirects without being overwhelming. Without paying the +2, you'll still be injured by incoming attacks, but the double output allows more flexibility with the Modifier. No character is going to be able to just sit around and redirect all attacks, but it allows certain niches to be filled (Aikido, for example, could be demonstrated through something like this).
