I've been seriously thinking about trying to start up a cosmic level campaign with a small group of players. I just figured it would be fun to try something different.
The problem is that...I really don't know where to start. Running a cosmic campaign is a bit intimidating for me, and I want to make sure I do it right.
Does anyone have any advice/ideas on some cool stories/situations that players can get into on a cosmic level?

how many campaigns have you run so far of the lower level? from there take the best parts of the ones you have already done and make them larger scale, although i find Cosmic campaigns boring as your to strong GL and HF with it.( watch for power gamers u give them alot of stones some players can abuse it up the wazoo)

Some players can make characters that can one shot the universe with just 40 stones. Like Dionon, for example. At least according to WildKnight.

I shouldn't have a problem with power gaming as my players are fairly new to the system and are more in it for the story and the fun than they are trying to break the system for the hell of it.
I'm thinking of trying to do something that mostly takes place in space (obviously), but the specific problem I'm having is really just making a campaign that's that big in scope. Like...what do I even have cosmic characters do? Aside from making them fight other cosmic characters, how do I add substance to it?
Both me and my players are fairly new. I played maybe 20 game sessions with another group of players before I started GMing. Since then I've run two campaigns, both lasting about 3 play sessions. My players have only played one so far, and I intend on expanding that session into an ongoing campaign before I try this out.

As I generally see it, when playing a lower level game, its usually focused around struggle for survival or similar. For a very high stone game, I think one of the key elements should be responsibility or something in that direction. Like if they start out as already cosmic beings, let them have a area, spot or role in the buracracy of the cosmic order. The more fleshed out this order is and the players role in it, the more you will have to work with which is very important in such a game.... Acutally that is kinda important in any game really But to get a plot rolling, that order could be threatened somehow, making their place in existence uncertain. A galatic plague, "renegade" cosmic beings, unkown enemies to the order, ect. For more inspiration, you could look here: www222.pair.com/sjohn/blueroom/plots.htm

Remember this, With Great Power Comes Great Responsibilty. Also, I remembered WK once saying this about why he likes Superman so much. "I have all the power in the world. Great, now what do I do with it?" (When I write Ultimate Action Comics on another site, I want to address this. How Superman is so overpowered and lives among people who are so weaker than him and thus must always hold back in fear that he hurts people too much. Especially in that continunity, Superman already killed someone by letting his anger get to the better of him. Was not my idea, but I will have fun writing Superman dealing with this fact. If anyone wants to check the site out that holds those stories, pm me. ...oops, derailed the thread a bit. Sorry.)
