That's a freaking long process. And what kind of number is 5? Tell me about it. If it were only up to me, I'd snap my fingers, go 'poof, change's done' and go on with my life. But that's just not the way things work in this world.  Count maybe six active years to accept what I was, two years and counting for the coming out process. After that, several months for meeting with specialists, before getting the O.K to proceed with hormonal treatment. 6 months after that, maintaining hormonal treatment, but also setting a date for the actual operation. Since I'm at the "meeting with specialists" part, I figure the process will be complete in more or less 2 years. ^_^ (EDIT: Although it could be longer, I'm not 100% sure. Never done this before, you know? :  As for 5, I dunno... but it's my favorite number, so I guess it is, in a sense, 'my' number. Thus my answer to you.  |

But that's just not the way things work in this world. I was actually referring to me becoming Pope. I would have to go to seminary, become ordained, rise to the level of bishop and subsequently cardinal before having a chance. And you would have to do the same to even cast a vote and the Catholic church still has some issues to work out with women. A gender you will be joining in a relatively short time. But yeah, that other stuff, too. |

...is by no means meant as an insult to men in general. It's targeted specifically at myself. I'm tall, pretty large shouldered and way too hairy. Then again, maybe I'm seeing it worse than it really is, I don't know. XD

On that note, I will change my username a final time, this time for good. "Gig" being not me anymore as far as I'm concerned. No need to look for hours where the new name came from, I just like it is all.  EDIT AGAIN: Though if you really want to know where I took it, it's the name of a character from Drakenguard 2. And also 1, I think. |

Short for Urso Polar which means polar bear. Right before he named me, he joked that he had a nickname that referred to my hairy body. And because I'm white. I'm actually really happy with the name believe it or not. ;D |

When I was a kid I used to tease my dad about his hairy arms. I drew him a picture when I was about 3 years old of him being super hairy all over, and when I was 5 I wrapped up a bunch of bananas and put them under the Christmas tree for him.
Then one day I learned how genes work.

Very glad you feel comfortable enough to come out to us, Manah! Now, as a lady with many names on this board, have you put much thought into what you'll be going with for yourself in the change? I feel like that could be a cool part; rarely, in life, do you get a chance to name yourself!
