When I first played MURPG, I was about 12. I made a character based off myself and what I wished I could be if I were a super hero. Needless to say - he wasn't exactly the epic hero I invisioned him to be. I picked some easy-to-play powers and a terrible, borderline porno-esque name without realizing it... and ended up playing him very little before sort of "scrapping" him. After a few years, I "inherited" the books, learned what it takes to be a GM, and found myself coming back to my old ideas. And thus... "Grunge" was born.
Robert LeRoy Stiffler - AKA "Rob Roy" of "Rob Roy and the Shotglasses" - "Grunge"
6'1"
250 lbs
Male
Brown Hair
Blue Eyes
Mutant
Int. 2
Str. 1
Agi. 2
Spe. 1
Dur. 3
H. 3
E. 9
Abilities - After his mutant gene kicked in, Rob discovered he had gained the power of manipulating sound waves. Using his guitar (or any other source of sound of vibrations - other musical instuments, his voice), he learned not only to amplify his power into physical waves or narrowed beams, but also to channel it - using his guitar as a sort of "hoverboard" and taking flight. He also could mentally connect with audiences; by controlling and manipulating the waves, he could guarantee any audience would love him and his band mates' talents. He the "the Shotglasses" toured around the world, partying and gaining fame. A small argument that almost broke the band apart, lead them to seek out "spiritual guidance" in many parts of the Orient (where he took the time to learn martial arts and gain inspiration for their next album - "Transcendental Light". This (plus some mind blowing drugs) enabled him to learn how to induce hallucinations and visions that would be incorporated into the previously mentioned piece (and of course be used in his fight against crime).
Modifiers - He has gained a sort of sonar sense (being as his body gives of trace vibrations, however not enough to be manipulated by his abilities). He also has the ability to absorb sound as well as some physical attacks. Those who have been subject to his powers or listeners of his music, are more vulnerable to his abilities; he can gain mental links with others that can resemble that of an addiction in some cases.
Equipment - He keeps his trusty guitar on him at all times as well as endless picks both for fame opportunities and chances to fight evil doers.
Challenges - Fame comes at a price both as a super hero and a famous musician. He has fallen victim to drug and alcohol abuse (however his metabolism has kept him from undergoing too much physical damage), to cope with the stress of his music career and the critical prying eyes of the press. His friends, family, and fans also are oblivious to his alter ego and his mutant heritage, making his personal life even harder to live.
