ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/Thanks to everyone for the comments and constructive criticism. We really appreciate all the board members who have taken the time to look over what we have developed and write up their reviews. Here are some responses to your questions / comments:
SANDMAN: It's an excellent suggestion add the Outlaws under Affiliations
(one that we hadn't thought of), however, due to space issues, I don't have the heart to ask our overworked graphic artist to try to add that in at this point. Feel free to add it in on your own sheets as a reminder.
SHATHRA: You are correct about the shape shifting! Though we it wasn't clear to us whether she could shape shift into different forms, or just one (who she called "Sharon Keller".) So, rather than make it a power, we just decided to mention it in her bio.
We're sorry about the Sandman/Shathra miscommunication. That was our mistake based on the fact that the first page was ripped off in our own copy of the pak. In the rush to announce the contest, there was a miscount of pages and Shathra was listed as the first character.
SILVER SABLE: Thanks for the breakdown of Silver Sable vs. Shang Chi, Kaimontfendo! Good job! We're glad that you liked Shang Chi. (The price will be included in our New Modifiers section, which we intend to publish next month.)
SPEEDBALL:We're glad you like Speedball. Thanks for pointing our little graphic fluke. We'll try to fix that for our update.
SPEED DEMON:We knew he had to have the same speed as Quicksilver, because of some of the stunts he's capable of, but we didn't want him to be as powerful. We're glad you're pleased with the results.
SPIDER-WOMAN: We knew that a lot of people were not fans of the last Spider-Woman, so we opted to include Arana instead (in the first pak). We also included the original Spider-Woman, because one of our editors is a big fan. The fact that she played an important role in the last Spider-Woman's life (assisting Madame Webb as a mentor) and has more recently taken an even more prominent role in the Avengers (working with Spider-Man on a regular basis) helped justify her inclusion.
And yes, she can fly now. We meant to fix that before this got published!
We'll definitely have to fix that one for our update. Thanks for pointing it out!
STILTMAN: We wanted more mainstream Daredevil villains, and he fit the bill; Matadoor, for example, would have been even more comical, but too obscure. Plus, we needed to throw in some armored power suits, (he and Turbo are the only examples in this publication). We originally worked up Frogman as an armored powersuit, but later changed that.
Thieving devices: Good catch. Of course we don't want to make him too effective. We'll give him a +1 modifier for thieving in our update, and list this in our update
TARANTULA: We feel that Tarantula is a tad more threatening than Spot, who has for the most part been portrayed as a "joke" character.
The reason we chose him over Black Tarantula was because Tarantula is more familiar to most Spidey fans.
For those that might have missed the post, Beacon did a write-up on Black Tarantula that can be found using the following link:
murpg.proboards19.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Villain&thread=1151034819 TOMBSTONE: We're glad you like the "rock-solid bio." We worked hard on that one, so I guess our efforts paid off. His modifiers will be lower in our next update.
TYPHOID: Yup, we certainly did use the Hulk sheet as a template for her multiple personality. We're glad you liked her! She certainly does have 3 personalities, but it seems to be more of a personality difference than anything else. We didn't see much evidence to warrant another set of stats. However, the following changes could be made for Bloody Mary, if you want to have a distinct set of stats for her as well:
Close Combat: Raise by 1 point
Telekenisis: Raise by 1 point, and add the following note: (Bloody Mary can use her telekenisis defensively (to surround herself with small objects)
Mental Defense: Raise by 1 point.
VERMIN, VULTURE, WEREWOLF:Thanks. We're glad you enjoyed them! We knew Werewolf was a stretch, but we wanted to do more with magical affiliated characters, and we justify his appearance due to the fact that he does have some ties to NY. And we have a special treat for you in the appendix (which we think all MURPG fans will appreciate), and he'll definitely tie in nicely with that. But nuff said on that one!
AranaYes this is a typo. It should read "Bonus" not "Modifiers."
Thanks for the catch.
Again, thanks to everyone for your comments and feedback, we really appreciate it. We are excited to show you all the other sections of the book we are working on!
