Blaster: The word “ blaster” is a blanket term for any ranged weapon that fires burst of particle beam energy called blaster bolts from replaceable power packs. - Blaster Rules: Blaster Weaponry is assumed, unless explicitly stated, to have the “2x Damage” and “Stun Damage at will” modifiers.
- Stun Damage: Blasters can, at the players designation, set their blasters to stun; However, a blaster can only effectively use it’s stun function at about ½ its effective range, rounded down (e.g. so a Blaster Pistol has Range: 3, therefore its stun range is only 1). In addition, droids are unaffected by stun damage that is not Ion.
- Suppression: All fully automatic weaponry, GM's discretion, has the option of laying down suppressive fire; Suppressive Fire is considered an “Area Effect” attack equal to the MN of the weapon (e.g. Lt. Repeating Blasters are +3, so if laying down suppressive fire, then all individuals in the fire zone are subject to a 3 stone area attack.)
- Ion: Ion weaponry is designed to disrupt or disable droids, and other forms of technology. As such, Ion weaponry offer the “Stun Damage” option, but only to technology and droids, anything that is organic that is hit with it only suffers the MN damage.
