"What the- " was all Jon could muster out as he and his compatriot were tossed from the wardrobe and to the floor. He had a crass look on his face as he waved off the pixies half hearted thanks. "Where the FK are we now!"

Mildred
Chloe looks at you for a moment and then shrugs.
"Well ah guess it ain't a surprise ya'll don't know. Joss ain't real talkative at the best of times. Can't figure out why but she likes to play her cards close to her chest."
She pours you a drink in a thermal mug (yes it's blood) and settles back to tell her story.
"So, ah can old tell you what ah heard. Gramps and Joss know more than me, but a few years back seems there was a big rise in the vampires arriving in Gotham. This was about the time Joss turned up as a cop. There weren't no reason behind it, just vamps come wanderin' in like they were looking to find somewhere to live."
"Now Joss had her work cut out just keepin' the peace. Most folks would have just gone on a slayin' spree, and trust me that girl can slay. Only she's got this kinda code where if whoever ain't killed on her watch they get a pass."
"Anyway a couple of years later this group of vampire hunters moved into town, an these guys were slick. None of this stakes and crosses stuff, we're talking UV generators, carbon bullets, all the best tech combined with a bit of magic. An they started in on the local vamp population."
"Now that pissed Joss off something fearce. Ah don't know what happened but those boys got themselves a personal visit from the Captain. Anyway seems she let them walk away intact in return for them changin' what they do. Right now they are the police of the local Vamp population. Any vamp comes to town gets a visit and gets told the rules, ya'll can feed but you can't kill. If you kill, you die. Now most vamps just laugh this off, hell most will just go right on ahead and try and kill the one warnin' them. Most of the rest will kill within a month and these guys just know."
She shrugs.
"Now, way ah hear it you are a special case. You are a cop so word out there is anyone touches you answers to the Captain, could be why you ain't heard from anyone."
"Ah hear there is a sancturary for Vamps who've sworn off killin'. Some of 'em even come in from time to time. There's only a few about an' they mostly keep to themselves."
Christopher, Jon and Cerberus
There is the sound of heavy booted feet and the door to the bedroom where Jon and Cerberus are bursts open.
"GCPD! NOBODY MOVE!"
Three men in body armour carrying high tech weapons move into the room in what is obviously a practiced manuver. This is GCPD's meta human response team (MHRT).
Jon would notice the slighted sign from their body language that they have recognised the two of you and probably won't shoot, but no one has lowered their weapons.
Christopher arrives a few moments later to find three armed and armoured MHRT officers pointing weapons at Cerberus and Jon Hawkin who have clearly just appeared out of a wardrobe in your grandmother's old bedroom.

Cerberus
Cerberus slowly lift his hand over his hands, showing them empty.
-Officer D. Raven...everything is fine, I’ll explain!-
He says calmly, slowly getting back, showing no sign of agression, looking at them.
-Tough I would rather not explain it with a gun at point blank of my face if you don’t mind.-
He added, with a little dark humour, tilting his head on the side and showing a slight grin, which somewhat was not putting anyone at ease and yet there was this strange charisma coming from him that make it at the same time disturbing and intriguing.

Christopher looks at the scene and immediately sees red, these people are point guns into his grandmother's room, the physical damage aside they may also affect some sort of mystical energies.
You are here at my tolerance, now you are trampling in an area that has not yet been entirely gone over, one that likely holds key clues to multiple open cases, and threatening members of Special Crimes... Members who were assigned to do exactly as they are doing at my request with Captain Dyre's approval? I would suggest putting your toys away and going back to being only moderate annoyances, as opposed to full-on liabilities.
Christopher delivers in a deadpan voice, his almost bored expression is belied by his trembling hands which have begun to glow with the effort to not unleash some vile curse on the men before him.

The friendly tone that Chloe used to refer to the captain gave Mildred pause, but given what she had learned of Dyre that very night and how Chloe herself tended to deal with people, it wasn't exactly a surprise. Grabbing her drink like someone would grasp on a cocoa mug, Mildred relaxed and listened to Chloe talk like it was a story narrated in front of a fireplace. Maybe it would be for nothing given it was a conscious effort, but Mildred tried to relax given how things had gone and how Chloe's tale started to shape.
Hunters. Proficient ones. How buried had Mildred been in her own ennui, holed in her home, sheltered from the city she loved, to not have noticed that? Being left alone had hit her harder than she wanted to admit, and her own pain and sense of drama had only served to isolate her more and more. At least now she had the police, she had something to do, to distract herself with.
That said, if the hunters had been around since a couple of years and did raze the city before Dyre talked with them, before Mildred even considered being a detective of sorts... why was she spared? Maybe they didn't know about her? No, if they were able to track vampiric murders so well there was no reason for them to not have heard about Mildred. Now she had the captain's protection, but before?
"It's nice to know more about the mama bear side of our dear captain" Mildred said, forcing a smile, noticing that she had been silent for too long. The Swamp Thing talked about something that lured vampires there, more of a mystical notion that the word of mouth of that supposed sanctuary Chloe talked about, she guessed. "Most of us aren't precisely outgoing I guess, even the most oversharing side of mine would be just an exception to the rule" Mildred added. She had sworn off killing long before the hunter situation, maybe that was part of it, made herself a low priority target.
But then again, even with the captain's sway, who was behind that sanctuary if it existed? And why?
Mildred took a revitalizing swig from her drink, sighing pleased. "Here I am, trying my best to be a productive member of society, and yet feel disconnected from my kind" Mildred shrugged, recovering her usual careless self, at least on the outside. "I'd love to hear more about that, I guess I'll have to stop by more often to see if I can meet some other vampire. And enjoy the present company, of course" Mildred added, showing her best smile. Even if Chloe wanted, and Mildred doubted so, she didn't want to get entangled with someone like her. Mildred's affairs never lasted, and souring that relationship with a bad break was a stupid move, even for her.
So maybe she wasn't exactly flirting, supposing that Mildred would even know the difference between being friendly and being flirty, it was just her feeling relaxed, safe, properly fed and enjoying the moment. Having a bunch of mysteries to jog her rusty brain didn't hurt either.

"Ofcourse we'd land in the rich kids house instead of a nice bar or I don't know private island somewhere." Hawkins got up and dusted himself off and looked around annoyed at the guns. "Well you heard the man drop em." He then looked at richy rich. "So what's going on? I just got back dreamland with pix over here and have no idea how long I've been gone."

Mildred
Chloe carries on talking as you lose yourself in memories of the past.
The last few years have been dull, sure you have killed in the past, but not recently. Why was that? Had it lost its appeal? Too much contact with humans? Were you going soft? The beast in you growls at the taste of blood from the cup, urging you to drink and drink again. No, you are a predator, no doubt about that. You can feel the desire to kill, to sink your fangs into flesh and drain it dry. It's easier to keep in in check here, probably thanks to Grandfather's magic. So what?
There were enough killers in Gotham that most vampires would probably think no body would notice a couple of extra dead people here and there. Something always told you though, some instinct, someone was watching. The Batman perhaps, or maybe something else, but you knew, some predators instinct was telling you, had been telling you for a long time, killing wasn't safe.
Now you know what you are listening for you can hear it clearly. A true predator knows when it is the hunter and when it is the hunted and that little voice inside you has guided you out of danger without you realising it.
Killing wasn't safe, so the flock needed a shepherd. Humans are food after all, but sheep and shepherd's live in harmony. That was what brought you to the police force. Kept you off the radar of the hunters, away from the other vampires. When the captain turned up in that process you can't be sure, but she saw you weren't killing and that gave you her protection.
The beast kept you safe. Good beast.
"...Well no body's ever told me where they're holed up. But I'd bet you dollars to donuts Joss will know. Heck Gramps has probably kept tabs on 'em too."
Chloe had been talking this entire time... Christopher, Jon and Cerberus
The MHRT Troopers give you all a long look before heading back down stairs without a word, their expressions unreadable behind the tinted visors on their helmets.
This leaves the three of you alone in an upstairs bedroom in Christopher's House.

If it is a private island you want you may always borrow one of ours, there are rooms that can serve as full bars on every level of this house including whole rooms dedicated to storage of spirits in the basements, you really ought to not knock the rich people who might give you things to their faces. Now if you do not mind unpacking that and explaining yourselves properly? Christopher says still looking pissed but at least not about to assault the nearest member of the police force, yet.

Mildred had always been good at deception, and the easiest mark for the vampire had always been herself. How deluded had she been to not notice what had been going on? How self absorbed? Madeline leaving her alone had hit her hard, but Mildred had wallowed in her own misery, an spectacle without public that served only her self pity. That was over, now she knew more than ever, now she was doing stuff on her own, now she- wait, how long had been Chloe talking?
"Oh sure, I'll ask the captain once the dust on our present trouble clears" Mildred commented casually, as she had been keeping tabs perfectly on the conversation instead of latching herself to the last bit. "I owe you one, drink aside, so if you get into trouble maybe I can..." Mildred paused, an amused smile in her face. "Don't know, make some traffic tickets disappear?" she joked, thinking that there was no way that Chloe would ever get into serious trouble. She just didn't seem the kind that did. "Maybe late fees from the library even" Mildred added, amused with herself and looking at the book that Chloe had been reading.
Now that she knew more and had gained some self confidence, she was at ease and would stay there chatting for a while. Sure, not as long as to endanger herself with the kiss of dawn, but she was feeling way more comfortable than when she entered.

Fking prick. Not only did he just ignore my question but decided to lecture him too. He so didn't need to this right now.
Hawkins tilts his head toward the pix and teleports out intent on finding the Captain.
If he finds her he'll ask the same question and what's going on.
Speed 2 + 6 TELEPORTS plus his radar sense to locate and get to the cap if he has to hell just call on her cell

Cerberus
As he see the police just move out, he simply let out a simple smile and relax again, tough Christopher’s pitch tone was quite unhappy about the commotion, there wasn’t much he could do about it, but before he could start talking or even apologize, the other guy just teleported away, leaving him to deal with their host.
-Well...that was rude...-
He simply says, shrugging, but then his expression return to a more serious expression, meaning he is not kidding at this point.
-I don’t know how much time has gone...lets just say I took a trip to wonderland and I have discovered two things of import and for the sake of all of us, I hope you havent touch that being in the basement yet....also, I have picked up clues on the possible whereabouts of your grandmother...or at least, where she was trying to go...-
He says slowly, letting that sink in.

Christopher nods his agreement with the rude comment and though he is about to answer Cerberus in how long he has been going and to tell him about the current debate on the creature in the precinct he quickly forgets everything else about the conversation quickly closing the gap between the two men to an uncomfortable degree.
Where did she go? Who did you learn this from? How do I contact them? How did they come across this information?

Cerberus and Christopher
(OOC - keep talking I'm going to update the others whilst you do)
Jon
Captain Dyre isn't hard to find, she is still in her office, a look of intense concentration on her face as you gazes at her computer screen, a note pad in front of her open and a pen in her hand.
"Yes Jon, please come in I wasn't doing anything important." She says after you have barged in and started firing questions at her.
"In answer to your questions I saw you about four hours ago. I gave the others the rest of the night off so we can come back to the cases we are dealing with this evening."
"Bradley and Buckley have consulted with Swamp Thing and got some answers on how to progress the basement case. I am working on the translations of the magic circles cast in Detective Bradley's house."
"Now, I assume by Dreamland you don't mean you fell asleep."
Mildred
Chloe smiles
"Well that's real sweet of you sugar. I'll keep it in mind if ah have any problems with the law."
At this point 'Grandfather' himself appears, and smiles his brilliant toothy smile on seeing you.
"Ah detective, ya have arrive at the graveyard shift. Welcome, I trust this is a social call."

Chloe's smile made Mildred's widen, as she felt relaxed, but soon they weren't the only two in the bar as the boss himself appeared. "As long as it doesn't end with me in the graveyard, I'm willing to get the most of the night, it's been a long time since I did so" Mildred sighed. "I'm always social, you know" she frowned for a moment, "but I'm starting to wonder if being a copper is the kind of job one brings home. I never thought I could be on that side of the line and yet here I am, wondering if there is such a thing as off duty" she said with a short, dry laugh.
"But yeah, just spending the last hours of darkness in good company" Mildred confirmed after a pause, "and already feeling way better than when I entered" she confessed. "Couldn't help but worry and wonder out loud about my kind though, so it was informative as well. It seems that I've been in the dark longer and deeper than I guessed, so I'm in dire need of catching up" she shrugged. "Mind sharing a last drink before the dawn chases me home?" she asked.

Cerberus
The young man was suddenly approach by the other one and reflexively took a step back as he was bombarded by questions.
-Calm down...-
He said, a bit annoyed, he passed a hand in his hair, tilting his head, wondering how he should explain the whole walking into a space walkway of yellow brick, by passing trough a magical wardrobe.
-First of all, I got those informations by going trough the memories of a location...also, does Olympus ring a bell to you?-
He says slowly, letting that sink in.
