Captain Dyre leads Cerberus out side and over to her motorbike, opens the seat compartment and pulls out a small box, inside the box are about a dozen small glass bottle, each containing a liquid of some sort. She selects a bottle and passes it to Cerberus.
“Take a sip, it will protect against magical effects for an hour or so. I don’t suggest drinking too much though... it’s... quite potent.”
At this point Christopher’s butler appears along side you both and addresses the Captain.
“Excuse me ma’am, Mr Bradley has requested you join him in the up stairs drawing room, at your earliest convenience.”
His accent is unmistakably British, and even at this late hour he is impeccably dressed. The Captain nods to him, utters a short ‘Thank you’ and carries on with Cerberus.
“I never suggest working alone, so in the absence of a partner I’m happy to join you if you’d like.”
Interestingly her words were clearly an offer rather than an order.
Upstairs Mildred pondered Christopher’s words, she had indeed heard of the Swamp thing. It was one of several reasons why the wilds were not considered safe for vampires, and with the whole business of his taking over Gotham city and defeating the Batman a few years ago to save his... wife... female love interest of some sort after she had, as Christopher pointed out been arrested, police may not be high on his list of favourite people either.
His wife’s name had been... Abigail Holland, and the pictures of her and Swamp thing had been lurid. She had seemed like a nice person though, she certainly hadn’t deserved what had happened to her. Fortunately Batman had stepped in and the charges against her had been dropped.
Getting Swamp Thing’s attention probably wouldn’t be that hard, magic can do that sort of thing. Persuading him not to kill you both/ to co-operate would be the trickier part. After all anything that can defeat the Batman should be considered dangerous in the extreme.
Christopher’s slight wheezing snores however soon fill the room, apparently he missed out on some sleep last night.
Jon’s exploration of the forest proves fruitful, it takes him all of thirty seconds to find the site of the disturbance, where upon he finds the final wizard, unconscious hanging upside down from a tree, his left leg tethered to a steel line. Having been in Gotham PD he’d know Batman’s MO and this is classic Batman.
Apparently he even has eyes and ears out here.

Cerberus
The young detective follow the captain outside the manor as they reach for her motorbike. At which point she take out a bottle among many others and hand it over to him.
-Protect me against magic huh...well, that’s quite convenient.-
He said with a grim grin. He look at the bottle for a moment, then listen to Dyre which offer him to accompany him in the magical library. Cerberus is then reminded that Jade is still away and hopefully on her way back from the nightmare she is stuck in. He sighed.
-Well...I wont refuse your offer, I’m not sure what well find there, but in all honesty, I’ve felt what emotions and memories this place holds...and its quite...heavy...-
He looked pensive for a moment, then shook his head, then open the bottle and take a sip, trusting this would be sufficient to face whatever is waiting for them in the library. He then hand over the bottle back to the captain.
-Up to you if you want to see our colleague first or not...I’m ready when you are. -
He simply says with a nod.

As the inebriated feeling started to fade, Mildred was surprised by the effect of whatever drink the Captain had given her a taste of, and got a spare moment to think about it. Puzzle pieces about her boss started to clear a bit, to match with the ideas in her mind, but before Mildred could really set her mind to the task it seemed that her partner had a plan of sorts, or at least an idea. He soon fell asleep in a so sudden way that it gave Mildred's daytime stupor a ran for her money, allowing her a peaceful window to mull over his words. As a parasitic creature of the night that preferred the bustling city, Mildred felt like she had no common ground with the Swamp Thing beyond the supernatural, and as such he was the kind of entity she used to avoid in sake of her survival.
That said she could empathize with the issue that brought him at odds with Gotham's law. Mildred wasn't a stranger to forbidden love, or if it couldn't be considered love at least the kind of passion that could have gotten her in a similar predicament that Abigail Holland had found herself in. It was true that she had been particularly lonely as of late, maybe a symptom of her ennui, but perhaps now that she was more active, now that she felt alive again she could-
No, now wasn't the time to think about that. If the Swamp Thing could indeed be able and willing to help them, maybe the wise idea would be to approach her through Abigail herself. Mildred being a cop, even if it was a recent event, didn't help, but maybe it wasn't just the safest approach, but also the sensible one. It would also allow for her to apologize for those past misdeeds, that judging of their relationship, her short and weird status on the police notwithstanding.
Such a thing would be only possible if Abigail could be found and if she still lived in Gotham or nearby. Mildred thought that if something like that happened to herself the last thing she would do was to keep living in the same city, but who knew, it was worth a shot investigating Abigail's recent whereabouts. If that failed, approaching the Swamp Thing would be a way easier, straightforward and dangerous affair. But first it would seem that her partner's sleep would be short lived if he indeed wanted to talk with the Captain.

The bat... it wasn’t even a week into the job and the bat has shown up twice. Which reminded him. The Captain had been looking into a Strange. He walked up to the wizzy and dropped him from the tree... maybe they can get some more info from him. Anyway Strange. Who might that be? Why would the bat and captain be working with each other on it? He wanted to know. He teleported back. Much easier going where you been than where you hadn’t. He dropped near the Captain and threw the wizard down handcuffed and gagged (not taking any chances). “This is the last one.” He said gruffly. “I don’t think I’ll be much use here. If you don’t mind cap I’m going to head to the precinct to catch up on current Gotham. A refresher if you will.” If she doesn’t need him, he’ll head to the precinct. Precinct 12.

Captain Dyre nodded to Cerberus.
“I keep tonics for all eventualities, and a few toxins of my own design. The things out there will use every advantage they can get. This is my way of evening the odds.”
The sip he takes is... different. It’s alcoholic for certain, a fortified wine by the taste, but that is the least interesting thing about it. The second most interesting thing is the magic that flows through him. This ‘tonic’ has powerful magic imbued in it of a sort that Cerberus has never felt before. The most interesting is that the energy of the drink brings forth the sound of music and merry making in his mind. From just that sip he feels not drunk but at least a bit tipsy though the inebriation is not from the alcohol but from the magic itself.
Anyone less attuned to energy would not have been able to detect the difference, but Cerberus certainly can.
At this point however Jon appears with the unconscious wizard in tow. Dyre wastes no time in injecting him with the contents of another syringe she produces from her jacket pocket.
“Ah Jon, good timing. If you want to make yourself useful. This one needs taking back to the precinct. Tell the desk sergeant he needs prep’ing for meta containment, then i want you back here. I’m partnering you with Cerberus here, at least until Detective Rodriguez gets out of Arkham.”
With that she gestured to Cerberus to follow.
She heads back into the house and straight to the library, frowning in apparent discomfort as she passes through the door.
“Yea, powerful spell. What can you see?”
The effects of the tonic are still very noticeable as Cerberus looks around. The doorway with the magic ward on it is there as clear as day, the inebriation seems to ward off any effect it might have but Cerberus can see that Captain Dyre is facing directly away from it.
Up stairs Mildred has time to ponder as Christopher sleeps, Abrigail was originally from Louisana and most certainly left Gotham at the end of the incident. But finding addresses and contact details shouldn’t provide a problem, well at least if it weren’t all stored on those blasted computers it wouldn’t.

Some vampires liked to travel, for example who knew where Madeline could be providing she was still alive, but probably not in Venezuela anymore even if she had headed there. Mildred herself wasn't one of those vampires. Part of it was the pure and simple survival instinct, the safety of not only dwelling in a place she knew well, but also avoiding the risk of traveling around, specially in long trips. But it was mostly... love? Maybe that wasn't the appropriate word for what she felt for Gotham, but was as close as one could argue. That didn't mean she didn't travel or had traveled in the past, but it always needed a good reason to do so, or at least good enough for her. "Maybe Louisiana... maybe not" she muttered, for all she knew Abigail could have fled to Europe or wherever she found peace. Looking for her in hopes to leverage some help from the Swamp Thing seemed far reaching, but at least it was an idea that kept her focused on the task at hand instead of wandering into the enticing mystery captain Dyre was.
"Oh yes, the captain. It's taking a while" Mildred sighed, checking her pocket watch. Maybe she should go fetch her, although she disliked being ordered around like a servant. She was the one that was served, at least in the past, when she could afford to use her powers in a morally reprehensible way. Mildred always thought she wasn't a bad person, everyone that has been living with her, or most of them at least, had been happy, glad to be of service. But she could no longer be seen as a threat by the Bat and his ilk, even less now that she was a copper. Maybe leaving Bradley to have some peace and wander around in search for the captain could help Mildred to clear her ideas.

Cerberus
The effect of the tonic leave a nice feeling on the fae, he give a soft smile as a few scenes goes trough his mind while the magic course trough his veins. He give a small shudder then nodded to the captain.
-Quite interesting...nice little boost!-
He says. Alcohol or magic, in the case of a fae like him, it could be the beginning of a lot of things, but in this case, fun time will have to wait, there was an investigation going on and it was high time to stop playig hide and seek. He nodded to Jon, as they would be partner up for a while. He certainly hoped that Jade would be alright soon enough. He felt somewhat guilty at this point. If fae was responsible for this, he wish he could have done something too.
As they headed back inside and walk to the library, Cerberus found the glowing door to wonderland, as the captain seems to be looking somewhere else. So he took her by the shoulders and made her face the door where the spell was clearly put on. She was probably facing a wall right now.
-The door is right here...and the ward is as obvious as the sun on a clear sky day...tough I can do a little magic, I'm effraid wards are not my specialties...-
He said, looking a bit more closely at the ward, trying to figure out how it would work and if it was in his powers to undo it. if this ward was in the illusion domain, as it seems to be, maybe there was something he could do, but out of that, he could always try to magically burn the sceal.
-Well...if its related to illusions...maybe I can do something...let's see...-
He added as he concentrated himself on the ward, extending a hand toward it and trying to cast off the ward.
---------------------------------------------------- 5 in Int, to try and figure out the spell. 3 in fae magic, illusion, to try and dispell the ward/illusion spell on the door.

John grunted his answer to the Captain and went to take care of the suspect. He sling him over his should fairly easily and disappeared only to reappear at the precinct. He was pretty sure his Strange and Batman’s were the same but he had to make sure. Who knows could be a whole family of weirdos or not related. Either way at the time he hadn’t wanted to make a bad impression by just assuming. As he got to the precinct he walked to the desk sergeant. “Hey there Seargent. I need this perp prepped for meta containment. He’s got some kinda Harry Potter ability, Magic I mean. On a unrelated note can you tell me what we know about a Strange?”

Cerberus
The ward most certainly has illusionary components, though it’s not a simple piece of magic, in fact the design is quite beautiful in its elegance. It seems to mix illusion and mesmerism into a form that both hides the door and persuades anyone able to view the ward that the door is not worth paying attention to. The persons own brain then does the rest.
It then mixes in components of other disciplines to hide whatever is behind the door from scrying, summoning and the like.
You can see a patch in the ward that someone clearly took a knife to at one point, disabling a large portion of the mesmerism component. It was then repaired by someone but not fixed permanently. Taking down the whole ward by yourself is beyond you. Whoever put this here spent weeks putting it in place, destroying the door itself would get rid of the ward but weakening the ward in the same way it was before is easy, so you focus on that. A chip of wood falls easily out of the ward and you feel the pressure of the spell decrease.
Mildred
You wander down stairs to find the captain and Cerberus in the library staring intently at a blank wall. Apparently they are still working on getting into... something...
There was a reason they were in there... something about... what was it?
Cerberus seems to hold out his hand to the wall, mutters a few words and something in your head just snaps back into focus. A hidden room, they were looking into a hidden room.
Christopher
You wake with a start, the past 12 hours coming clearly back into focus. You remember everything, the room, the research, your missing assistant, everything is clear. It is like a weight has been lifted from your mind.
Adrenalin pumps through you washing away the tiredness for the moment, so much time and so little to do. No scratch that, reverse it!
John
The desk sergeant looks at you, nods and radios to someone, within moments a team of officers arrive with a gurney and with practiced ease cart the prisoner away.
Your question about Adam Strange seems to illicit only a little more response.
“Wacko, doctor who likes experimenting on people. There’s a complete file on the data base when you have clearance. Captains looking into him if what I hear is right. Word is some of his experiments have been turning up causing trouble, or at least, that’s the best theory we’ve got. Why’d you ask?”

Christopher leaps up realizing that the ward must have been breached and runs into the library.
Don't go in there! he screams. Anyone messing with it could cause a cataclysmic event, that thing should never have been brought here and I am certain that if it was not the end of her then it is the reason she has vanished. The entire room is a deathtrap for the untrained.

"Hey Captain what's..." Mildred wondered what was going on, but her words weakened at the awkwardness of the situation with Cerberus and the wall. All of a sudden, their presence there made sense, as there was a hidden room there, of course. Mildred uttered a low grunt, a sound of displeasure at the recent events and the oddities that confused her, but the feeling didn't last. She wanted to live an interesting life, there she had it, nobody said it would be comfortable all the time. Mildred didn't go beyond a soft greeting and a curious stare at what was going on, as not only Bradley was awake again, but also shouting and yelling like a madman. She wanted to keep her partner calm, but Mildred craved answers almost as much as she craved blood, so maybe if left agitated she would get some clear answers about what was going on. After all, the Captain was there, so she was going to let her sort that mess out, even if she wanted to take a peek in the room herself.

Cerberus
Cerberus smiled when he found out more about the ward. It is a beauty to witness, even if he wasn't your greatest mage or what not, even he could tell the elegance of the spell. He grin some more as he pierce trough the little secrets hidden behind it and start unfolding it.
-Interesting...very interesting...someone came here before and dispatched a part of the ward...but someone else put it back in...I can't dismiss it all, but...-
He said, talking to the captain, as suddenly, their comrade came in rushing, calling out not to go in there. He turned back his head toward Christopher, raising an eyebrow.
-What's going on? Did you suddenly remember whats in there? At any rate, the ward is half off...what do you mean Death trap?-
He ask.

"Looking into him for a friend.. didn't know if I had the right guy but it sounds like one in the same. Thanks for the info sergeant." With that Jon slides off mentally figuring out how to get access to the files without the Captain knowing. He goes to the restrooms into one of the stalls and teleports back to the house.

Jon arrives back just in time to see Christopher burst into the library.
Captain Dyre turns to Christopher as he blurts out his warning.
“You’ve got your memories back? Tell us what you remember.”
She settles back with her back against a table to listen.

Well I can confirm one person has already walked into that room and vanished, my assistant. She got curious after John meddled with the memory charm on the door. Which means a case will have to be opened for her even if this was not enough to reopen my grandmother's. In that room is a secret passage to a subbasement which contains a tablet written in Dispillo I had memorized the tablet in order to go ask for a translation without moving it. The tablet itself is a mystical artifact which, from everything I have seen is capable of bending or outright breaking the most fundamental laws of magic. There are area's of the room I believe act as one-way gates, though that is simple conjecture and hope on my part, frankly for all I know it may simply erase people from existence entirely. Please note that twice my own spells have tried to save me from problems that have arisen from this thing, the first time they knocked me unconscious and I awoke working on my car, so I could not even discover its existence, the second time instead of letting me go to investigate what it is they caused said car not to start till I forced the issue and then blew every tire on it before I got out of the driveway. In other words, I suggest proceeding with the utmost caution. I tried to reach out to you early in the day which was when Lt. McPheirson was called in.
Christopher is back to being fairly pissed with Dyre though is trying to control his temper, if she had trusted him enough to let him know John was coming much hardship could have been avoided and he would likely still have an assistant.
