You arrive outside the Quary Junction ready to clear it out yet again. This time it seems a nest of Cazadors have set up in the quarry in lieu of Deathclaws.

Christie
Christina Rodriguez, a.k.a the Vault Legend, the Lone Wanderer... the Courier... and probably more titles she didn't really use nor heard often, was making her way stealthily into the area, keeping an eye out for trouble, scouting for enemies or anything out of the ordinary. As was her usual tactic, she liked to get a lay on the land before engaging foes, so that meant confirming the rumors of Cazadors in the area in order to know how to best take them out, or if those rumors were exaggerrated. 15 in Black Ops; 8 to stay out of sight, 7 to scout the area, +3 from Acute Sight.

You scout the area, and see 20 of the bugs buzzing around the center of the quarry... several people and animals laying around in permanent comas... Their bodies reduced to food for their larvae*.
(Cazadors are based on Tarantula Hawk Wasps, which reproduce by laying their eggs inside tarantulas who have been rendered comatose by their venom... The egg hatches and the larva eats the creature's organs for nourishment. It's not too much to assume Cazadors reproduce the same way.)

Christie
"Okay, note to self, rumors confirmed, and even worse than expected. This place needs a thorough extermination", she mumbled to herself, as used her powers to access her 'Vault' pocket dimension, and pull out one of her favorite Power Armors, the T-51b, and one of her favorite weapons... the CZ57 Avenger... one of the most powerful miniguns she had ever encountered, proceeding to step into the large suit of powered armor. While she was unaffected by poison, and her skin was about as resilient as reinforced steel, she certainly did not intend to allow one of those creatures to try and implant their eggs inside her body, which meant having an extra protective layer was certainly not a bad idea. 2 stones in Space/Time Manipulation (The Vault) to retrieve a Power Armor and one of my biggest guns to deal with the situation.
Followed by putting'em on and grabbing said gun. Also 5 in Intelligence to keep an eye out on the monsters while I do so.

You keep an eye out as you armor up... If the creatures have spotted you, they don't seem to be charging yet. Content to just give you your space.

Christie
Space which the power armor-wearing Courier slowly crossed to close in on the enemy.
"I love the smell of lead in the morning. The afternoon too. All day long really", she stated... as she squeezed the trigger, and began raining metal hell onto the creatures! 11 (Ef) in Ranged Combat (Heavy weapons, Handling recoil) +2 from Targeting, plus 6 from the CZ57 Avenger, into a 19 (2x damage, Limited AP, Area attack, Causes heavy collateral damage) attack VS as many Cazadors as she can hit in a single volley of bullets.
7 in Acrobatics into defense. (Total ph.defense: 25)

You spin the barrels and mow them down with relative ease.

Christie grinned as she kept tearing them apart with bullets one after the other! Repeating my stones.

They're all wiped out once the barrels stop spinning.

(OOC: I take it that once implanted with the eggs, the comatose victims are already as good as dead, huh?)
Christie
"Finally rid of you vermin", she said coldly, as she walked up to the monsters' victims to examine them and check for possible survivors. 8 in Intelligence to examine the victims and check for possible survivors in case some of them weren't implanted yet.

(It's not a Chestburter. The larvae will eat the non vital organs first. The real challenge is findng a way to cure the damage from the venom.)
You find several of them are not dead yet. Either because of unhatched eggs, or the larvae has not eaten all their vitals yet.

(OOC: Okay, well... I have no idea how to save them so here goes:)
Christie
Christie proceeded to do whatever was best given the circumstances to save as many of the victims as possible... and to make sure no more Cazadors would be born from the ones who couldn't be saved. 7 in Medical Healing, and 12 (Ef) in General Knowledge (Survival, Most sciences) to figure out how best to save the survivors and prevent the birth of more cazadors from the ones who won't survive.
Then acting on that knowledge.

Despite your best efforts there is no curing the venom. All you can do is destroy the eggs and larvae while giving them a mercy killing.

(OOC: So they were good as dead after all, lol.)
Christie
"How unfortunate", the young heroine said to herself, as she finished off the last victim with a bullet to the brain. "At least no more of those disgusting creatures will arise from this particular nest."
She took a final look around to make sure she had not missed anything of importance, and then headed back home. 5 in Int to look around just in case I missed anything, then heading back.
