(OOC: Welcome to the game, Hoots Rowlet. I know you said you were unfamiliar with DnD rules, and like I said, explaining them all would take months, so let's just take things one step at a time and learn as we go. Just tell me what you'd like to do each 'panel', or 'round' as we call them in DnD, and I'll tell you how what works. In combat, a round lasts about 6 seconds. Outside of it, it's more vague like a MURPG panel for roleplay/simplicity's sake.) Baldar Shortbeard was continuing on his way away from his ancestral home, in search of adventure and opportunities. His travels had led him out of the forest surrounding his native mountains, and into some large plains. The partly clouds covered sky still allowed for some sunlight to peer through every now and then as the day went on, a light breeze blowing as he walked, his trusty animal friend his only companion*. His peaceful travels soon led him to a disturbing sight, and sounds. Further down the road he was currently on, he could see a stopped caravan... smoking... with people, humans mostly, fighting against small, yellowish/greenish humanoids with pointed ears, sharp teeth and sharp fangs. Creatures the young dwarf knew far too well, for they were foes to his species since forever. Goblins!
OOC: Did you have a name in mind for your Ram buddy?)

(I'll call him Redhorn. After the way his horns almost seem to glow when illuminated by the nightly campfire.)
"Aye! Ye cursed creatures. Why don't ye pick on someone who can fight back!" Baldar yelled rushing in between the Goblins and any unarmed survivors of the attack gesturing Redhorn to stay behind him and focus on protecting the people.

(OOC: Got it. I'll type more on this later in the rules sub-board, but just so you know; since you're a Fighter with a +1 or more in Base Attack Bonus - namely +1 in your case - you are able to draw your weapons while performing a 'Move' action - i.e moving your max armored speed, which is 15'. You can also perform up to two Movement actions, such as Move, per round if you do not take any other action, which allows you to easily close the distance between yourself and those goblins. Don't worry too much about it, again; I'm just giving some quick info as we go. So yeah, if you want, you got your weapons in hands too.)
Baldar easily managed to make it between the little monsters and the few unarmed survivors backed against their chariots. The revolting creatures hissed death threats and other profanities at him in their native language, the young dwarf understanding every word. He had five of them in front of him and his trusted companion, brandishing wooden staves, clubs, and small spears, although a large brown-haired bearded human stood by Baldar's side, brandishing a large woodcutter's axe.
"Thanks for the assistance, ser dwarf. I'll help you against those monsters!"

"Much appreciated." He said. "HRAAAAGHHH!" He declared going for one of the spear weilders aiming to cleeve through his neck and shoulder.

As the goblins snarl at them and ready themselves to strike, Baldar doesn't waste any time stepping in and hacking one clean in two. The little monster barely has time to cry in pain before its dead halves fall, splashing the ground with its black blood.
Before the monsters can react, the lumberjack also move in and sticks his axe into the skull of another one of them, killing it instantly. Enraged, the little beasts move to attack the dwarf and its fellow defenders. One of them surprisingly gets past Baldar's defenses, but his flimsy spear is stopped by his hide armor. The others launch rather pathetic attacks the young dwarf and woodcutter avoid with ease. As they recoil a bit, beginning to realize they were outmatched, Redhorn charged at one of them, downright breaking its neck from the impact, leaving only two still standing!
(OOC: No damage taken; three goblins down, two to go.)

"Begone foul creature!" He yelled swinging his axe horizontally to try and decapitate another.

The goblin somehow managed to block Baldar's attack, but the dwarf still shattered the creature's club into shrapnels of wood. It also distracted the creature enough for Redhorn to strike the little monster, killing it, while the lumberjack finished off its own foe... leaving them victorious!
(OOC: You gained 125 Experience points! ...You now have 125/1000 until next level up.)
"You have my thanks, ser dwarf. Without your help and your friend here, we would likely have fallen", the lumberjack said, holding out his hand. "I'm Daren."

"Baldar Shortbeard." He said shaking the hand out of courtesy.

"Well... it's quite good to meet you, ser Shortbeard. I... wish we had something to offer you as thanks, but aside from perhaps sharing a meal with us as we repair the caravan chariots, and leaving whatever we find on those goblins to you, I fear we don't have much to give as reward", he said apologetically. "These people aren't wealthy, but they're good folks."

"A meal would be a welcome reward if you can spare some meat, and greens for my Ram." He declared before walking up and searching the Goblin corpses for anything of value.

"Then we'll be glad to have you with us", the man said, chuckling. "Any man who showers the plains in goblin blood is a worthy meal companion to me", he said, as the people of the caravan began taking care of their wounded, extinguishing the fires, and setting everything for an halt.
As it turned out, while the goblins had fairly pathetic weapons and equipment, they were positively loaded with gold, likely taken from one of their earlier raids! OOC: Baldar acquired 90 Gold from the creatures!

Baldar observed the wounded for a short moment after pocketing the gold. He wanted to help, but at the same time he didn't want to waste his limited spells.
Pocketing the gold, and checking on the wounded to make sure it's nothing the crew can't patch up themselves.

The worst wounds were some moderately bad cuts and stab wounds, but nothing too serious. No one would die once provided some assistance, and apparently these people had dealt with these kinds of wounds before.
Daren moved to help prepare the food. "What brings you in these parts?"

Baldar sat before the nearest fire with Redhorn by his side, and his axe set down on the other side. "Mostly looking for work. For as much as I love the forests, and nature, I also enjoy food and mead of the finest city-born chefs, and such things cost money... So I lend my axe, and spellcraft to whom has the proper coin." He said before backtracking. "Not that I expect such from any of your group. The loot from those Goblins and a hot meal is recompense enough." He said petting the ram.

Redhorn took a break from feasting on the food he had been provided with in order to lick his hand, before returning his attention to it.
"You'll likely have your hands full if you hit the local inns. These are troubled times we live in... adventurers are needed all over the place. Monsters, ghost villages, orcs and goblins multiplying like rabbits, bandits preying on travelers... plenty of opportunity for coin to an adventurous warrior."
