As you touch the wood at the back wardrobe and absorb the energy there there is a pulling sensation and you find yourself somewhere else.
It is a strange place, black and filled with what you assume are stars. As you look around the glory of the Cosmos is displayed before you. A star field to rival any night sky you can imagine.
Beneath your feet and weaving off into the distance is a path, made of yellow bricks. About ten feet wide it seems to be hanging in the void, the only truly solid thing in this view. Every thirty or forty yards or so is a doorframe on one side or other of the path, made apparently of wood but with no door attached just the blackness of the void visible through it.
Light seems to be coming from everywhere and no where, bright enough to see by but not enough that you can see any great distance.
Annoyingly you don’t seem to have arrived though any of the doorways as you are not near enough to any of them, but here you are.
(Ooc – from the small taste of energy you got you can ask one question that Christopher’s grand mother might know the answer to or gain one of her accessible skills for a single panel.)

Cerberus
The young fae was walking around the house, scrolling trough the mansion memories of the people that lived in, and what had happened around. He could feel it, some good, some bad, some dark, some dangerous. He walked for a while, pinpointing some destination until he reached a wardrobe. Something about it was attracting him to it and so he put his hand on it and found himself wandering into the cosmos.
Blinking for a moment, he pinch himself, unsure if he was dreaming, but then again, he was playing around the house of a famous and powerful sorceress. He looked around. Doors and a yellow pathway.
-Looks like I’m not in Kansas anymore huh...-
An old reference to an old movie involving magicians and the likes. He knew there was something he could ask, but not yet and so he took the leisure to walk around for a while, looking at the doors, looking trough them, wondering where he was.

Nothing in your experience has prepared you for this, so you are forced to rely on guesswork. This looks like some sort of construct. The walkway, the doors, everything says that this was made by someone, but without a better idea of what exactly this does you can't get an idea of the scale of what has been made here.
You look around, the view is breath taking. It is as though someone or something has created a path through the massive emptiness of the interplanetary void. Stars shine, unflickering as would be the case on earth, nebulas glow with the light of thousands of new born sun's, and a comet streaks slowly across the starscape. Then one patch of particularly deep void catches your attention through one of the doors.
You stare intently at it and suddenly find that it is staring back, with two yellow feline eyes. There is a 'prewp' sound and out onto the path walks a cat looking suspiciously like your cat 'Jones'.
On closer inspection you can see that it doesn't just look like Jones, it is Jones, in all his feline glory. He ambles casually as if completely at home over to you and starts wrapping his tail around your legs, clearly please to see you.

Cerberus
The young detective walked around, and eventually stumble upon one of the door. Looking trough the darkness, he sees eyes staring at him, and suddenly, his cat get out and walk to him, as if this was a very normal place to go. Cerberus is both surprised, and not at the same time. Jones had his way of living, sometimes he would wander off, and sometimes he would just keep around. Getting down to caress the black fur of the small beast, he smile.
-Happy to see you too.-
He says, then taking the cat in his arms, putting his face in his fur, somewhat a reassuring gesture for himself. Then looking around.
-Did you come from home trough that door?-
He ask the cat, tilting his head while looking at him. Did those doors lead to every nook and cranny of the city? Or even the world? Perhaps even farther. But then, maybe Christophes grand-mother knew, but he really wanted to know was, where was she? Where was Christopher’s grand-mother?
-Ah...if you were here...would you tell me where you are miss Christopher’s Grand-mother...-
He let out softly.

She couldn't be certain where she is now, she had a plan, of that much you are certain. She had a place she wanted to get to, but she was afraid.
She had tried to reach that place through this construct you are now in (that interestingly she named the yellow brick road), tried to cheat her fate, but she had failed.
Images wizz though your head, the face of an almost inhumanly beautiful woman, a stone tablet with symbols she now understood, hopes and fears, worries for Christopher, heartbreak at having to leave.
The energy fades quickly away leaving you alone with Jones.
Jones watches you as the knowledge flutters butterfly like across your mind and fades away. Once you are finished he turns around and walks off down the road, pausing briefly to looks back, apparently to see if you are following.

Cerberus
The young detective felt the answer flying around him, as a cloud of butterflies and the answer came to him, quite vividly, even if he didn’t get quite the actual place, he knew now where to look. His expression turned pensive for a moment, then he saw his cat starting to walk down the yellow brick road. As it turned its head toward him.
-Looks like you know where to go...-
He said with a soft smile. He was curious to see the rest of the doors, but now wasnt the time, and so he decided to follow his cat, felt like some kind of fantasy novel, but hey, he was himself a fae.

Seeing you following Jones trotts off tail in the air for a few yards until he comes to a doorway on your left and he just trotts through it. His form vanishes as it passes between the uprights of the door frame indicating that the appearance of the void is simply an illusion. This doorway goes somewhere, and Jones has clearly gone there ahead of you.

Cerberus
Following the cat for a while, he stop in front of the door, now realizing that the void is but an illusion.
-Interesting...-
He thinks to himself. Perhaps he could see trough it and know ahead of him what lies beyond the doors instead of simply going in blindly. He was curious now and tried to look trough the illusion, trying to dispel the spell with his own magic. After all, illusion were his specialty.

You try to dispel the illusion, only, it's not an illusion, or at least it is, but not in the way you usually think of them. For you illusions have always been temporary, flimsy things, easy created and just as easy swept away. In comparison this is like try to dispel a brick wall with a feather duster. This illusion has a feel of permanence to it that you have never felt before.
It is like this illusion is less an addition to whatever is going on here and more an entirely natural feature. The illusion is intrinsic to the nature of this thing almost like you can't have one without the other.
Whatever this is, you have never encountered its like before. Magic shouldn't operate like this.

Cerberus
The young detective look at the door for a moment, a bit in disbelief. This was ominous...strange and he had a bad feeling about it all. Never the less, there wasn’t much he could do about it right now, but one thing was sure, this place worked in a whole different level then what he ever knew. He wondered if the great minds of this worlds knew of this place. Probably, and he was probably not really allowed here. Looking around the place once more, he had an idea, but this would probably be dangerous, yet, he had to try as he wondered, who else did cross this place before and where did they walk?
And so, he sat on the ground in front of the door where his cat walked trough in order to remember it, then touched the road and concentrated on the memories laying dormant in this place, taking them in slowly and hoping to gain some insight of this particular world.

In the strictest sense, this place doesn't actually belong to anyone, so Psychometry isn't the easiest thing to use here. You get the vaguest of impressions from Jones who in his own very feline way seems to think that this place belongs to him, though whatever skill he might use to get here is beyond you (his thought processes are to different for you to be able to understand them).
Beyond that there is nothing. Any trace you might pick up on is well and truly lost in the endless magical energies that bombard this place day in day out, assuming there are days here.
That on the other hand is a very interesting point. This place is being constantly bombarded by magical energy, so where ever this is, it isn't on earth. No where on earth has this level of background magic, this must be another dimension. Yet another first for today.

Cerberus
This place, once again, was full of surprise. Even trying to reach for this place memories, nothing came, as it seems to be under a continue fluctuation of magical waves. Whatever this place was, it wasn’t nowhere on Earth, that was something he was sure of.
-Incredible...-
He let out softly with a small glance around the place. He let that sink in for a moment. He wished Jones could tell him how he does it, but there wasnt much he could do about it for now. He was curious about the other doors. What did lie beyond them? Where did they lead? But that would be very risky to try his luck without even knowing what was on the other side. So for now, it might be best to simply follow Jones back. He let the world around him sink in his memories, he wouldn’t forget it any time soon and get up, then carefully step inside the portal Jones just went in. There wasn’t much he could do there at the moment, but he just had gotten a good lead. A smile reach his lips as his form cast itself in the darkness of the door.

It was easy, a simple step forward and he was somewhere else. No falling through voids no explosion of mystical energies, just an every day walk in the park, and strangely enough as Cerberus looks around that is exactly where he has ended up. In a park.
The strangeness of this place however is immediately apparent. The place is for want of a better word, grey. Mist surrounds you on every side allowing you to see only thirty or fourty feet in any direction. There is laughter in the air as of children playing yet it sounds very far away like echoes from another world. You can can see around you swings and slides and all of the equipment of a play area, yet for all of this there is only one child visible.
A little girl is sat dressed in a warm red coat on a swing looking directly at you with an expression of confident amusement that is anything but child like. Her long brown hair is tied back in a plait and from her gloved hands to her tights and solid but expensive shoes she gives the impression of someone who is accustomed to getting her own way.
She smiles as she notices look looking and then turns to the business of making her swing move.

Cerberus
As he travel trough the door, the feeling is not quite as he expected. He was thinking twirling or strange dizziness, but no, none of the sort happened as he just got trough without any significant problems. Now on the other side, he find himself in a grey place, mist everywhere and a feeling of loneliness to it as he watch his surrounding. The laughter is creepy, yet nostalgic. His eyes search for Jones for a moment, trying to find the feline shape anywhere around, before his eyes turn to the only spot of colour around. The child looks at him with a gaze he could never give a normal child, but he is sure, this place is far from home, or maybe closer then he think, hard to tell.
As she goes back to swinging, he take the time to give his surrounding a better glance, then walk slowly toward the girl.
-Hello there, my name is Cerberus, you wouldn’t happen to have seen a cat pass by? A black one? His name is Jones.-
He said with a smile that he hopes is warm, but there is always that strange twist to it, something he isn’t aware of.

This place, where ever it is feels familiar somehow, like a place you should know but can't quite remember why. The little girl however is totally unfamiliar, she stops her swinging as you approach and gives you a look of almost regal amusement.
"Oh? Is that the name he has told you? Well I suppose it makes sense. Anyway I told him to make himself scarce whilst I spoke to you. He'd only be a distraction."
There is a wail from far away as of a child in distress and the little girls head snaps round to a place in the park and with that she jumps off the swing and skips over to the bottom of a slide. It seems in a way you can't quite describe that the child's wailing is coming from there.
The girl bends down and picks something up from the floor then turns to you holding out what look like a pair of lollipops. They are wrapped in black foil and give off a strange feeling.
"Would you like one?" She says with a smile.
