No doubles this time, so 19 total.

OOC Dex 9 + 19 vs OV 5 + Roll(2d10)+0: 2,1,+0 Total: 8 Success +6 EV
Dex 9 +6 (15) vs RV 5 = 10 RAPs
Green Arrow scurries up the side of the warehouse in no time at all
Unfortunately there's nothing in the way of a skylight that he can see but from here he can see better the layout of the compound. Checking out the guards circuit he figures he has a few minutes so picking the lock might not be as rushed as he thought. However the guards are talking to someone on their walkie talkies. He looked at the gate house. Those two were chatting to each other...
Pressing his ear to the roof of the warehouse Green Arrow wondered if there were occupants...
OOC Perception (Int 5) + Roll(2d10)+0: 3,7,+0 Total: 15 vs OV 4 + Roll(2d10)+0: 5,1,+0 Total: 10
Success +3 EV (Will 8 + 3= 11) vs RV 4 = 7 RAPs. Success.
There! The unmistakable squawk of a radio and muffled speech from within the warehouse. Not urgent, and too distant to pick out, but there was someone in the warehouse. Guards most likely. He glanced at the two patrolling. .38 pistols, nightsticks and flashlights along with the radios. Standard fare.
Without a search warrant or reason for being here, Green Arrow would have to be careful. This wasn't the wild west, and police were only a phone call away. He winced at the thought of Cameron being less friendly next time round.

Green Arrow keeps to the shadows and calculates the distance between Warehouse A and Warehouse D. Can he make the jump over to the roof of Warehouse B safely and without being spotted? He just needs to eavesdrop in on the two chatting near the gate house or get inside the office building, where there is a better chance of finding records if this company is up to any wrongdoing. Warehouse D is closer to both these goals.

OOC I'm thinking it's about 20-25'. With a super long run up and a 6 1/2 ft + athlete the world record is just short of 30'. On a sloped roof in the dark trying to not make any noise? I'd say the jump in normal conditions would be 6/6 OV/RV. In the dark and trying to be silent will push that with an extra +10 (Pushing the limit, previously +5 CS) OV/RV to 16. With Acrobatics giving extra dice (making your own luck...) it's not beyond the realms of possibility and you only need 1 RAP to succeed. With 9 Dex + a great roll... It would still be a long shot. If you just want to jump that would be easier but landing on a metal roof will wake even the sleepiest guard! Your call!

Green Arrow decides to time the guards patrol to when he can safely climb off the roof of Warehouse A and quickly but quietly move around Warehouse D to the Office Building without being seen.

OOC Stealth check...
Guards Int 2 + Modifier +2 (alert but not overly so. They aren't the typical 9 to 5 watch tv sec. guards) + Roll(2d10)+0: 6,2,+0 Total: 12 vs
Green Arrow Dex 9 + Stealth (thief) Roll(6d10)+0: 9,5,5,6,9,9,+0 Total:18 rolled DOUBLE plus Roll(2d10)+0: 3,8,+0 Total:38
Perception check by the guards FAILED
The guards are looking the other way when Green Arrow slips through the shadows.
His skill is consummate, and against 'mere' wage slave type guards he'd be practically invisible. GA notes these guys do actually look about instead of simply chatting about last nights game but they are hardly the best.
Moving up to the office building Green Arrow notes the ground floor doors are locked. There are windows on the floor above but no lights on. He can pick the lock or try an upper floor. A glance about shows wires trailing to the openings in the building, suggesting its alarmed in some way.

OOC Just a thought!
Next time a check is made can you make it with D12s instead? It won't change anything much with the game system as house ruled BUT it will mean slightly less doubles I should think. It was an option I was mulling before but I'm interested to see on what it will do with the results which at the moment nail a double most of the time. If I can get it to *some* of the time it's something I will implement in my long running play by post. I'll try it there too and see how I get on. Even without extra skill or HP dice it will stretch the possible swing from 2 to 24 instead of 2 to 20. I'm interested to see how that will change things. We'll get back onto the D10s after the next check is done.

OOC: No problem with rolling D12. FYI, my father-in-law passed today, so my posting will get spotty in about a week when I leave for the funeral.
Green Arrow tries to override the office building's electronic security alarms, before moving to check for an unlocked window.

Uh oh, that is only 9! (I should have stuck with the 14. This is why I'm bad at playing blackjack.)

OOC No worries about posting, family comes first.
The extra swinginess on the D12s makes it trickier from the players point of view. Go for a double or a higher non double result?
Green Arrow Int 5 + 9 rolled (14) vs Security System OV 5 + Roll(2d12)+0: 7,12,+0 Total: 24 FAILED!
Green arrow knows he's tripped something. There is no alarm going off thankf...
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! The alarm wails high pitched and constant!
Uh oh spoke too soon!
The lights suddenly BANG on as extra bulbs pop into life and suddenly the shadows mostly vanish from this place! Green Arrow doesn't have long to act... If they find nothing untowards they may be on alert for a while but he might yet be able to salvage something... or he could slug it out!
And he groaned inwardly. Technically he was the one breaking and entering without any actual proof of wrong doing...

Damn! Green Arrow sprints to the nearest fence and climbs his way out and away. If he acts fast enough, maybe no one will see that it is him who tripped the alarm.

OOC Dex 9 + 22 (31) vs OV 4 + Roll(2d12)+0: 8,1,+0 Total: 13
Success.
Green Arrow practically flies over the fence and sprints to the cover of a truck where he ducks down across the street.
The lights, the sirens, guards coming out of each warehouse, taking point and facing out as several go to the office building to investigate. Dammit. He counts 2 on the gate still and TEN in the grounds of the compound now, all armed and alert.
Several minutes later the alarm silences but the lights stay on, shining bright and illuminating the compound. He may have to wait a while before they consider the coast clear. Maybe they won't notice the wire he cut. Maybe he won't be that lucky. He sees an opportunity. Warehouse (A) on the blind side of the office has a door swinging slightly ajar... Dare he push his luck and try to gain entry? The guards will be HYPER alert!

Oliver decides to get some sleep. Maybe he can come back tomorrow as Mr. Queen and try to hire the shipping company for a job. He's a multimillionaire, so he can afford it. But what would he need shipped and to where?
Here's an idea. Oliver Queen heard about the quick success of Allied Shipping and Transport and is interested in acquiring it. He'll have his secretary call Major Nathan's secretary in the morning to schedule a meeting.
