Aaaaah.. Well then it better be mentioned that each dub only has one action, otherwise, people will guess, and guessing will lead to various rules Question 1: What happens if a Dub is killed and you don't reabsorb it? Question 2: Since all the dubs act as one character they/it will only have two actions.. So if you are using you're dubes to perform some task, but want to increase the number of dubs at the same time, how would that work? Would you just have to remove x dubs from the dub CAD and use them (and their actions) to create more dubs? More or less like splitting them up into various tasks..

What happens if a Dupe is killed and you don't reabsorb it?
I guess it gets all stiff and then starts to smell bad? Good question, though, I'm not really sure. lol I don't know what happens to Madrox's dupes when they die, exactly.. but in theory it's just a body?
As for the second question, just think of the dupes as a big bunch of extra yous. You can split them up into smaller groups, if you want. They get two actions like any other person. There's nothing complicated about it.
Can you give me a more specific example of what you might want to accomplish as a task, and how you think the duping works?

I would like to express my deepest, heart-felt apologies to the Message Board. I feel I have let you all down, for there to have been such an in-depth discussion on Duplication and, indeed, Madrox himself, and I have been woefully absent. But fear not intrepid crafters, I am here now, and all your troubles are over.
------ (in case it needs to be said: So, very kidding ;D) ------
Here is a list of a few Multiple Man facts, just for the sake of comparison. I'm not suggesting that all uses of this power must work in the same manner.
When one of Madrox's dupes dies, he is hit with a psychic backlash. It's because he still absorbs the 'essence' (i.e. memories, etc.) of the dupe, but not in the way his power intended. Instead of merging his entire body, it's entirely focused on his mind. In the Madrox, stand-alone, he attempted to fuse a dupe as it died, which screwed a bunch of things up.
If he absorbs an injured dupe, he doesn't inherit the injury, but he does get to relive the entire attack and all of the subsequent pain, all at once.
A dead dupe, is just a dead body. He can't absorb them after death, which almost drove him crazy the first time it happened.
Madrox's power does require kinetic energy to activate, it just doesn't require very much. However, the amount of energy does effect the number of duplicates created. Cyclops blasted him one time, and it filled the room with bruised M-Men.
Jamie has recently learned how to absorb his dupes with a thought instead of by touch.
Options to consider:
1. Shared Pain: Energy or Health stones suffered at Dupe death.
2. Hive Mind: Multiple bodies, one collective mind. Maximum number of actions equal to Int Score.
3. Clone Link, Partial: Different individuals, but partially aware of each others thoughts and emotions. Vague knowledge of location of each dupe.
4. Clone Link, Full: Different individuals, but fully aware of each others thoughts and emotions, either by constant awareness or insight through concentration. Player decides at creation. Absolute knowledge of location of each dupe.
5. Total Clone: Each duplicate is fully you. Meaning, whichever duplicate is in the most advantageous situation is the one, the remaining members absorb into. Also allows for a Total Party Wipe of a raiding party and whatever dupes weren't there could become the new 'original'.
6. Partial Clone: Each clone is an incomplete copy of the original. Possible effects include: Clones have no personality, Clones could be faceless or otherwise immediately distinguishable from the original. Each power unavailable to the clones would count toward this (healing factors, force blasts, etc.). Power restrictions only count for powers you currently have. This does include duplication (i.e. your dupes can't make dupes). This would also be one way to create the Naruto style clones, that can only receive 1 hit before bursting into a puff of smoke. Just restrict the health of the clone. With creativity, this option can (at GM discretion) be taken with the Total clone option. Meaning that there is only one 'original' or 'head' you at any 1 time, but should he be killed, or at the players choosing, a new 'original' develops.
7. One body, Multiple locations: Each clone is not only you, but you at the same time. If one gets hit, they all get hit. An injury to one dupe, causes the injury to appear on the bodies of every duplicate. Variations could include a shared energy pool as well. Meaning, if you had 5 dupes and 12 energy, and they all threw a 2 stone attack, the collective sheet would be down to 2 energy.
-------------
I could do this all day. This really is my favorite power in all the wide world. This should be more than enough to start with.
------------
I've only gotten to play a Multiple Man style character in a couple of short-lived games. This power is completely open to abuse. Unfortunately, that's part of it's appeal. Few things stand in the way of a careful application of a billion me's. In the end, it's going to be difficult to lay down a law on this that allows for creative uses of this power, while keeping any sort of game balance. Some balance suggestions could be added as a footnote to this power, but it should really be left to the GM (with a little player input) to decide how it works on certain power combos.
But that's me, and I'm obviously in love with this power, so my opinion my be slightly biased.
