Julie Angel was the roommate of Frankie Raye, who at that time was dating the Human Torch. One evening, a distraught Johnny informed her that Frankie was gone. Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Girl soon arrived to retrieve Johnny, and they told Julie how Frankie had become the new herald of Galactus. Julie was stunned by this development.

Some time later, Julie ran into Johnny and the Thing in Central Park, where she invited Johnny to attend an acting class held by Rolf Brandis at her dramatic arts school.

Julie and Sharon joined Johnny as he went hunting for a new apartment. After checking out Johnny's new place, they enjoyed a celebratory dinner together. But today, no one looks to be in a celebratory mood.

"Johnny! Did you find Sharon?" Julie asks. Then upon seeing Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, "Oh no! Please don't tell me Sharon became a herald of Galactus too!"

"This is bad." Johnny in his rush to find Sharon ignites and flies out the window. "I'm gonna go ahead and start looking. Maybe I can spot her car from the air." Hastily, Johnny takes off in a frantic search to find Sharon.
