While it was odd that King's crossing came up again Reed wasn't sure that any of this was necessarily connected. But still in his world coincidences were few and far between. He wondered what happened to the Skrulls after they were left. Meanwhile the rest of the group appeared to have started searching. Reed decided to follow along and see if he could remember anything else about the locations of these Skrulls just incase.

The locals do their best to avoid the Fantastic Four. However, one boy asks Johnny, "What are you doing here?" But then an elderly woman tells him not to talk to strangers.

Ben doesn't see anything out of the ordinary. All he sees is ...

Sue spots no sign of Miss Selleck, but her intuition tells her that a big city girl like Sharon wouldn't spend ten more minutes here than she has to.

Reed recalls that he started working on some specialized equipment after the team's second encounter with the Super-Skrull. He hoped they'd never have to use it, but he's been keeping a portable test kit in the Fantasti-car just in case.

As Mr. Fantastic grabs the test kit, the Human Torch finds Chief of Police Rollins.

"The Rolling Dead???" Chief Rollins tells Johnny that he won't find a live band in King's Crossing. "Mind if I ask your business in these parts?"

Sue notices the police chief's eye's glance at Lord's Hotel when she mentions Sharon. Rollins then answers, "We're a long ways off the usual interstate routes. Why are you looking for her here?"

As Reed feared, his tests are positive. The Fantastic Four has inadvertantly committed an almost unforgivable crime against the people of this community.

When the people of King's Crossing see Johnny's photo of Sharon, their features shift and blur, running like wax in the summer sun...

...until it is a legion of monsters that faces the Fantastic Four!

Sue was about to discreetly mention her suspicions about the police chief and his quick glance at the Hotel when the people around them transformed into monsters! She knew that something didn't felt right, but...

Apparently, it was time for the Fantastic Four to defend themselves. And since Johnny was the closest to those people as he was showing Sharon's picture to them, the Invisible Girl created a force field around both herself and her brother.
