I'm still pretty new to MURPG, but I'm immersing myself into the game quickly and I really like the diceless approach and the efficient abstractness of the system. My first idea for a new Action option was something that, for an increase to cost level of course, grants Health regeneration to creatures inside a Force Field.
For example, say the Invisible Woman had this option. She spends 6 energy to create a 6 stone Force Field over 10ft covering herself and her two children, Franklin and Valeria. If the option replenished 1 red stone of energy to herself and her children each panel, and 1 white stone of energy every three panels how much extra should the option cost? My initial thought is +2 Cost Levels.
Thanks a bunch!

Just to clarify, it recovers 1 white of health and 1 red of energy, right? All just for the cost of maintaining a Force Field? +2, to me, seems way too low of a number. Honestly, I would say that the player controlling the field should probably just buy Healing as a separate Action and use that as his/her second Action in the panel. If you don't do that, pricing this would be a nightmare.

I'd say at least +4 to cost level, and that assumes it only heals stones up to the Force Field's AN.

Honestly.... I'd say make the +4 option that everyone within the field gains an Accelerated Healing Factor (unless of course they have better) as long as they do nothing on their turn... That way it's not too too broken... and you don't have to start crunching numbers.

One of my earliest characters used healing fields. The way I did it was I bought Force Field and Mutant Healing (he was a mutant) separately, and since neither worked independently of the other (I couldn't make a force field without the healing property or vice versa), I discounted both with the "only works in conjunction with other power" Disadvantage.

Another interesting option would be to modify Force Field in such a way that, rather than being able to use it offensively (like attacking with it), you could say instead that it heals its AN worth of red stones (3r=1w, as normal) to everyone within the field's area. You could still shift the stones to defense (and then those stones would double, as usual), but stones spent on healing wouldn't apply to defense at all.

Then again, I've never seen anyone use Force Fields for anything other than defense. Never offensively, lol,

Manah are you talking about in the game or in the comics because Invisible Woman/Malice does that quite often.

In all fairness, offensive uses of Force Field should be a separate Force Blast Action or part of a greater Mastery.

I would suggest a combined action box with both Force Field and Mutant Healing, I would also suggest purchasing a range or AoE bonus on the Healing action.
I'd play the result as a force field that restores 1r energy to anyone inside the field, and you could dedicate energy specifically to healing people inside of the field by reducing stones to the force field.
As a matter of functionality, I would suggest tacking the 'burst' bonus onto it (+1 free stone per target when you split your stones).
Force Fields/Mutant Healing 4 (6w/9W = 15W) AN+3(?)/AN+2(?) - __ / AoE = Force Field Effect +2 - Burst +1/+1 - Cannot use either action separately -1/-1
Now because of the way this is phrased, you must put at least one stone of this action into Force Fields and one stone into Healing. Because of Burst you can place 4 stones in, 3 for defense and 1 for healing, ending up with 4 stones to defend, and 2 for healing directed to energy recovery. You can also go to 2 defense/2 healing ending with 3/3 and be able to pick a target inside of the field to recover 1W while still getting a total 6 stone defense. You wouldn't receive the energy bonus though.
You know.. I think I need to throw DK a message now. curse of inspiration >.<
