Kurt Wagner is an X-Man. As Nightcrawler, he's part of a team that faces a great many dangers together. He owes it to the others--and to himself--to know how to use his abilities as effectively as possible. But Kurt forgot there was an extra training session in the danger room today. He has a big date tonight, with Amanda, and he would hate to be late for it...

Across the room, a panel opens, firing a small missile in Nightcrawler's direction.

Kurt felt his most comfortable on the trapeze. After all, he had spent many years in the circus as the Amazing Nightcrawler before he ever met Professor Xavier or became an X-Man.

He never saw a missile barreling his direction before that fateful night. A tomato, sure, but a missile? Never.

As his swing hit its crescendo, Kurt lept forward, only to use his real mutant talent: teleporting across the room to the nearest wall. From there, he would cling and teleport again, hopefully confusing the missile's guidance system (which he assumed to be motion sensitive) enough to throw it off balance.

And I have to hurry! Amanda can't be kept waiting! He smiled to himself.

Have to time this just right... Nightcrawler waits for the missile to come to him. At the last possible moment, he'll 'port away, hopefully ignoring any potential damage, while still causing it to go off.

"Kurt!" Amanda exclaims, finding Nightcrawler at her door. Mr. Wagner wears a tuxedo and holds a bouquet of flowers. Miss Sefton looks enchanting in her green evening dress.

"Pretty flowers for a pretty flower, Liebschen," Kurt says with a warm smile. "You look positively enchanting." He hands over her bouquet. He was still happy from how well his Danger Room session went, and even more happy to have a night of R&R with his beautiful flight attendant girlfriend. (OOC: We're pre-Secret War still, right? So Kurt doesn't know/remember/recognize Amanda, right?)

"It's only quarter till eight now", Amanda says, accepting the flowers. "Our dinner reservations aren't till half-past. Like something cold to drink?"

Inside Miss Sefton's apartment, Kurt notices a crystal ball set upon a small table by the fireplace. Nightcrawler knows about his stewardess girlfriend's little hobby, but he thought Amanda wasn't practicing these days. So why is that out?

"A glass of water is fine, or a beer if you have one," Kurt scans the room, adding, "Practicing your divination, I see. See anything interesting lately?"

It looks like Amanda could use a vase for those flowers. Kurt knows where she keeps them too, he could even teleport there.

"I'd just like to find out who or what is responsible... in case something's really wrong."
