Beast rushes forward and strikes at one of the robot trying to break into the brownstone. "I would prefer if you did not destroy our headquarters, robots."

Gargoyle is quick to action. He turns toward the iced robot and decides add a sudden blast of heat to it. He opens his mouth and releases a blast of bio-mystical energy.

-Leave this building, and the people in it, alone, I said! Why do evil killer robots never listen to anything I say?!
Creating a large pike of ice out of the mositure in the air, Iceman attempted to impale the robot with it in a somewhat desperate attempt to stop it.

Beast jumps off of the robot's head, and then when he begins to fall back down kicks the robot in the neck.

Iceman enters the Brownstone next to Beast, as his ice seems to melt back into his body and he returns to normal. Both of his hands in his pockets, he smirks with pride.

"Don't worry lady. The New Defenders won't let that happen!" says Beast as he springs into action. He jumps, flips and then propels himself at the robot. Then he kicks the robot, and then uses his other leg to jump off the robot back into the brownstone. "I certainly hope that these robots do not decide to damage the building any further. It's already wrecked enough as it is."

-O... one team out of f-five?! That... that's EIGHT other of 'em?
Drake's smile quickly disappears as he takes several steps back looking at yet another mechanical monstrosity punching through the wall. Extending a hand almost reflexively, he creates a wall of ice where the hole in the wall just formed, hopefully holding the invaders out for a few more seconds. His body once agains returns quickly to ice as he moved to a more strategically beneficial location, also known as cover.
-Yeah, sure. The New Defenders won't let that happen, but, just in case.... Val, please, could you protect miss Cloud while we take care of the golden godzillas?

Gargoyle and Beast double team the first robot, while Iceman stalls the seven that follow. But it happens quickly: a shift in the odds that is almost palpable. One moment these New Defenders are confident--one might say arrogant. And the next... WHANG ...everything begins to...As he watches his old friend collapse into an unmoving heap, Bobby Drake seems to hear his father's voice, echoing in his head: "We were a couple of nervous wrecks," the voice says, with more than a hint of derision, "...wondering when the phone call would come telling us our boy'd been...murdered!"Gargoyle's Health: 5/5
