Sorry, I officially lost my ability to give a crap what they do with Spider-Man anymore after "Brand New Day"
Actually, the "Noir Spider-Man" looks vaguely less lame than "I'm an Avenger now, Mary Jane who?" Spidey we're currently stuck with...

They all look fantastic compared to Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. The moment I heard they're making a Spider-Man musical for Broadway, I wanted to jump up and kill the person saying it and call him a blasphemer.

If Superman had to be Broadway'd, then Spider-man was going to get the treatment sooner or later.

Superman was Broadway'd?...There are not enough curses that I could utter to express my disappointment in Theater at this point. Frakking everything is being turned into a musical. Musicals don't make things good. I really wish people would get that.

Musicals don't make things good, but they don't make things bad, either. I think a Spider-Man musical could be good, but I think it would require some kind of divine intervention.

People bursting into song and dance for no good reason is always a recipe for crap. Musicals ruined a prohibition-era gangster story, they can sure as hell ruin Spider-Man.

*shrugs* Sooner or later, you're going to run into people who don't enjoy musical theater (other than me).

Oh, trust me, I have. And I just don't argue it with them, because I've found issues of art aren't things to argue because art, in its very nature, is subjective and people will simply disagree on certain things based solely on an appeal to individual aesthetics, which is something that, ultimately, comes down to how you feel about it and is usually independent of rationalization.

I don't know that its independent of rationalization, its just that the rationalization may not always work for everyone. As with anything involving personal taste, its not that people don't know why they like or dislike a thing, but the reasons will probably be their own.

Like most of you guys here, I wish they gave Spidey a break for a while and stop milking him with another game every year. Not saying they're bad, though, just wish they'd go on few year hiatus to stay fresh.
You know, I said the same thing about Sonic the Hedgehog on other board.

Its an age old question for businesses that deal in copyrighted materials... is it better to take the quick cash influx every year while your property is hot, or give them a rest in hopes of greater long term profits?

My wife hates musicals i kinda like em how strange is that? The Buffy Musical was one of my favorites of the series. Admittedly, I didn't see the musical ep of Buffy, but in general musical episodes of non-musical TV shows tend to be quite a bit different from actual musicals. For starters, they're shorter, and they frequently make fun of a lot of the nonsense that goes on in musicals. I'm not bothered by singing, I'm bothered by the genre conceits of musical theater.
