THE HATRED OF THE
HOBGOBLIN! "Felicia, dinner's ready!" Lydia Hardy calls from the kitchen.
Felicia Hardy is The Black Cat -- cat burglar par excellance. Or at least she was. Her love for Spider-Man set her on the straight and narrow. That path led to their war with Dr. Octopus and to The Cat's near death. But she survived.
Felicia just got out of the hospital, and will be out of the bath in a moment. Her mother has been an absolute darling to stay and prepare meals, but she hasn't been out in days! The Black Cat misses her other darling... Spider-Man!
"Dear, is that you tapping?" Lydia asks from the kitchen.
Tapping?

-...Yes, it was, don't worry about it!, replied Felicia as she got out of the bath and wrapped herself in a bathrobe. As soon as she was ready, she hurriedly opened the window to let her beloved in, putting a finger on her lips to tell him not to speak too loudly.
-What a surprise... right outside the window during a bath, said Felicia softly with a playful smile. "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo?"
It had been far too long, and he had been the one she wanted most to see as soon as she possibly could... and there he was. She was feeling much better lately since her brush with death, and she fully intended to make up for lost time with the Wallcrawler.

"Did you say something, Felicia?" Black Cat's mom met Spider-Man before. Mrs. Hardy even thanked him for saving her daughter's life. Still... it may be best if she doesn't know the man Felicia loves just crawled in through the bathroom window. Perhaps mother can be convinced to go see a movie.

Felicia gestured at Spider-Man to wait for a few seconds.
-Yes I did, mom... What I was saying was, thank you very much for everything, I don't know what I would have done without you lately. But you know, I'm feeling much better now, you don't have to stay with me all the time. I hear a few good movies came out lately, you should go see a film or two... it'd do you much good. I'm sure I can take care of myself for a while, what do you think?... I'm not the only one who could use some time off, you know?

As soon as her mother was gone, Felicia greeted Spider-Man in, hugging him lovingly. It had been so long...
-I hope you're hungry, Spidey, my mother apparently decided I should be gaining weight. How about a nice, peaceful dinner together? Maybe not as exciting as our usual "dates", but I'm sure we could make it interesting.

He thought he was going to die. Spider-Man didn't want there to be any secrets between them. And now? It doesn't really matter to Felicia. It's the mask she loves--the costume--The Spectacular Spider-Man, swinging through the night! Spider-Man excites her like nothing has ever excited her before! Black Cat looks at Spider-Man with a wide smile, and puts her hand on his as she shakes her head.
-I don't know why you keep trying to make a distinction... Who you are has nothing to do with what you wear. With or without the mask, you still are the amazing Spider-Man... Always will be. And besides, why put so much importance on who we are when we are not in costume? An ordinary identity does not suit an extraordinary person such as you.

Spider-man is not one to back down easily, even when confronted by a beautiful girl such as Black Cat.
But...that's only one part of me, Cat, one side. The Amazing Spider-man is one half of the whole. I'd like you to get to know the whole instead of just the part.

The Black Cat makes what Spider-Man does sound so romantic. Every other woman he has ever loved, he loved as Peter Parker! In fact, more often than not--it was Spider-Man who kept him and his ladies apart! But with the Cat it's different-- together they saved a city from Dr. Octopus! He's never known anyone like the Cat!
Felicia's never loved anyone like she loves Spider-Man! She lives for the excitement, the adventure--the night! She only wants to be on the prowl with him, swinging from her cat cable as her lover slings his webs. And with dinner finished... now is the purrr-fect time!

-Oh, I'd love to eventually, I'm sure... But not tonight. The two of us... we have all the time in the world. Dinner's finished, it is time for the black cat to roam the streets and enjoy the fresh air of the night. Together with you, of course... if you'll have me.
She stood up, walked behind him and put her arms around his shoulders, whispering to his ear softly:
-Come with me. Let us patrol the streets and save people in need. That's what heroes like you do, right?

Cat cable unwinds from beneath a fur collar.  They are Spider-Man and the Black Cat...together!The last time the Black Cat helped Spider-Man, she almost ended up dead! Spidey's always been a loner--not used to watching out for someone else! But nobody has to babysit for the Black Cat!...because she has super-powers...doesn't she? When they first met each other, in addition to being an excellent acrobat, the Cat also seemed to possess a strange "power". "Bad luck" always befell whoever was after her! But only Felicia knows that was all a trick! Before a fight she'd carefully choose the battlefield, and then she'd rig it against whoever'd follow her into it! That's why she couldn't use it during the Owl-Octopus War! They chose the battlefields! If Spider knew that, he'd realize how crazy this is--how vulnerable Cat is! He's got Spider-Powers! Even so, there've been times he's nearly gone down before one villain or another! It's dangerous out there! And he couldn't bear it if anything happened to Felicia! Black Cat's Health: 3/3

His spider sense alerting him to some unknown danger, Spider-man looked around, trying to spot the danger. Uh...Cat? I think we may have company. He steels himself in mid-swing, preparing to twist out of the way in case of some airborne projectile.

Hearing Spidey's warning, Felicia does a good job using her cable to remain a moving target, whatever the "company" was. As she does, she keeps an eye out for trouble, wondering what was exactly the problem.
-...Where? I don't see anything out of the ordinary...
She knew better than to not trust her love's spider senses, but so far, the night was calm...
