Alright, see, for my new game(s?) ideas, I need a timeline. I'm thinking a united timeline, very much like ours, only with some differences, that changed the course of history. So, I want your guys's help hammering out the timeline, as I only have so many ideas, time and energy. There are some differences of this world to know before you dive in.....
1) Magic exists. There aren't sorcerors throwing around fireballs, but magic DOES exist. Magical creatures live, albeit away from humanity on the fringes of the known world. There should be little mixing between the human and magical world, but humans should be able to use magic.
2) The Hashashim: In our timeline, the Hashashim were a cult that was formed during the Middle Ages in the mountains of the Middle East, wiped out by the Mongols. In this world, the Hashashim survived, and became more powerful than ever. How and why is a mystery. Their influence grew until they were the most powerful around. Everyone knows they exist, but everyone's afraid to oppose them, knowing the price of doing so...
3) Pretty much all the nations that existed in our world, existed in this world. Under what circumstances, and how much power they have compared to our world is probably different, but exist they do.
4) Rome: Rome still falls. So nothing on Rome lasting to the modern day, it just wouldn't happen under any real circumstances.
So....any brainstorms? Hints? Tomatoes?

Alright, to start with, the Ancient World!
10,000 BC-5,000 BC
The first cities and real societies begin to appear. The city of Sumer is formed along the Euphrates River. The first sorceror/hero is born, Gilgamesh. Elsewhere, other cities begin to spring up, and what will be recognized as ancient society is formed.
5,000 BC- 2500 BC
Egypt springs up along the Nile river, at first as just a couple of small cities, then as a fairly large empire. Sumer is conquered by neighboring cities, bringing an end to the civilization before it really begins. Nation springs up along the Indus river, takes what Sumer did, does it much better. Necromancic magic is discovered in Egypt, starting the Egyptian obssesion with death. Chaos caused by power hungry necromancers weakens the empire, making it easy prey for the chariot driving Hyksos, creating the first Intermediate Period. Later Pharoah adopts the chariot, and using an army of the previous pharoah's mummies, drives off the Hyksos. Ramses the Great takes power, and using the same tactic, as well as keeping a cadre of necromancers on call, advances into Hyksos territory. Slaughters thousands, conquers Canann, enslaves the Hebrews. Advances towards the Fertile Crescent, has to deal with constant Hyksos rebellions. Marries Hyksos princess to bring peace, never reaches Tigris or Euphrates.
