Spider-man
Geez, now I remember why I avoid these reunions. I can't keep track of who's who! Got to find Flash. Something's eating him. With that, he politely shrugs off Louie's offers and excuses himself from Stanley's company to go find Flash.

Peter's search for Flash is distracted by the entrance of C.J. Vogel!"I came back in search of my roots, only a tree surgeon got 'em first!" C.J. Vogel still has the ability to draw a crowd. C.J.'s still laughing at his own jokes, only now he's gettin' paid to write 'em! "You're talkin' to the hottest comedy writer on the scene right now! In fact, I'm in town to sign a contract that'll make me so hot... I'll have to wear asbestos socks!"Soon they were all laughing so hard that they completely forgot about tormenting the lonely science major. Peter never forgot C.J.-- or his jokes! There's still times Parker thinks of him, when as Spider-Man, he wisecracks his way through danger! And speaking of his web-slinging alter-ego, Petey's got work to do if he wants to attend the actual reunion later this week! And work means taking pictures of himself in action as the spectacular Spider-Man!Spider-Man's Health: 5/5 Spider-Man's Energy: 15/15

Spider-man
"C.J., you still got it!" After listening to a few more jokes, Peter tears himself away to find Flash again. He knows he can't stay long, so he's got to find out what Flash wanted to talk about before he takes off.

Unable to find Flash Thompson, Parker heads for the reunion hall roof. But no sooner is the amazing arachnid ready to leap into the night, than he hears voices! Voices that belong to a pair of his high school classmates--C.J. Vogel and Louie Minelli... "How's the writing coming, C.J.?""Fine, Louie. Why?""Oh, I was just wondering if you'd heard from another writer friend of ours lately.""Plenty, Mr. Hotshot Comedy Writer! And if you want to know what I know--Gimme a call! " A card changes hands. Minelli drives off in last year's model Cadillac. And Vogel, now a grown man, stands and cries. Whoever Remington Colt is, his name sure had a sobering effect on poor C.J.! Peter Parker owes him a longstanding debt. Maybe Spider-Man can repay it. Spider-Man's Health: 5/5 Spider-Man's Energy: 15/15

Spider-man
Peter walks over to C.J. "Hey, C.J., take it easy, buddy. You okay? I was just getting some fresh air, and I overheard you and Louie. What was that about?" Peter hopes he can get more information on this "Remington Colt' character so that he can hopefully help ol' C.J.

By the time Spider-Man changes back into Peter Parker, C.J. has returned to his hotel through the guest entrance. It locks behind him. But maybe someone has heard of a writer by the name of Remington Colt at the Daily Bugle!

OOC: Whoops, I hadn't realized I was in costume already. My bad. Time to put it back on to get to the Bugle.

Frustrated but not by much, Peter dons his costume again and then swings his way over to the Daily Bugle.

At the Daily Bugle, Peter finds Ned and Betty Leeds. Hopefully, they've got a minute to play "20 Questions" with Parker.

"--though I'm sure few of them would be too thrilled to have to admit it now." Ned explains. "You see, the stories Farr published under the Colt name were pretty raunchy...some so bad that I hear they were even banned in Tijuana!""Milton Farr's name came up at today's editorial conference, Pete," Betty adds. Spider-man The mob?! Are Louie and C.J. involved with the mob somehow?
Aloud, Peter says, "What makes them think that? Do they have any decent leads?" He hopes it's not too direct a question and that he can get away with it without them getting suspicious.

"Milton Farr's office near Union Square was broken into tonight," Betty informs Peter. "And I heard it looks like the place was struck by a tornado."
"Publishing sleaze put Farr in touch with some pretty sleazy people, Pete." Ned says.
What is C.J. doing mixed up with mobsters?
"Peter, about that film you delivered earlier." Betty adds. "The police traced the valuables those crooks were attempting to fence to a man named Gilbert."
"That reminds me, I've got to finish that story for tomorrow's paper. Good night, Pete. And thanks for the photos."
"Good night, Peter."
Parker could use some shut eye. But maybe he should swing by C.J.'s hotel on the way home to check on him first.

Spider-man
"G'night, and thanks." Peter thinks to himself, Wonder if I can check out that office...ah, I'll do it later. Probably should head home. Before that, I'll check in on C.J.
With that, he changes his clothes and swings his way over to C.J.'s hotel.

Eavesdropping, Spider-Man can only hear C.J. Vogel's end of the conversation. "My... future?"Pause. "For the children's television show I've developed--?"Pause. The conversation ends, but now a scared C.J. laments to himself, "Why did this happen to me-- and now!""Gotta calm down!" C.J. lights a cigarette. "Louie probably just wants money! I can buy him off!"Spider-Man's Health: 5/5 Spider-Man's Energy: 15/15

Spider-man
Peter thinks it's time to ask C.J. what's up, and he figures it might be a nice twist if C.J. gets to talk to the friendly neighborhood Spider-man!
"Got your self in a bind there, eh?" the web-slinger says, dangling from a line just outside of C.J.'s window. Figuring C.J. might be just a little surprised, he adds, "Let me guess: You're in over you're head with mobsters and a guy named Milton Farr, right?" He pauses, noting C.J.'s reaction. "Relax, I'm here to help."
