This here is a CAD of Spider-Man when he first started off. Material used is Amazing Fantasty #15 with some details from the original Spider-Man comics.
Character Name:The Amazing Spider-Man
Secret Identity:Peter Parker
Ht:5'10''
Wt:165 lbs.
Hair:Brown
Eyes:Brown
Male:Human
Species Mutagenic
Age:Around 16
Abilities
Int:6 (I think Peter got smarter throught out the comics. Not exactly sure. Only have Spiderman #1-45 along with two annuals and the Amazing Fantasty comic.)
Str:7 (At the time was the 4th strongest character in all of Marveldom. The others being Thing, The Hulk, and Thor. Plus, he crushed a steel pipe by accident and with ease in the first issue he was in. Obviously the writers had decided to tone down his strength in later comics.)
Agi:7 (Was very agile back then. Very agile and still very agile now.)
Spd:5 (Going by the book for this one. I didn't reallly see any signs of superhuman speed in the comics.)
Dur:4 (Can take a lot of damage and was able to last long. Most famous feat of this was in Amazing Spider-Man #32 when he went on a non-stop rampage in search of a formula that could save Aunt May. And he was still doing well after he fought an endless amount of goons and Doc Ock himself.)
Actions:
Close Combat:1 (Wasn't always a great hand to hand combatant and was mostly using his strength to win.)
-Str bonus or weapon modifier
-Hand to hand
Ranged Combat:2 (In Amazing Spider-Man #2, where he fought the Tinkerer, Spider-Man managed to shoot his web shooters through a small opening and hit a button that released the domed cage he was trapped in. How about we make it that Spider-Man increased this action by then.)
-Web Shooters Modifier
Technology:4 (Is pretty good at technology but I don't think he was good enough to understand the incredibly complex stuff yet. If it shows in later comics that he does, and it would be a long, long, long later, then we can say Spidey beffed up this action by lines by then.)
-Int Bonus
Inventing:1 (Umm...lets see here. He invented his own web shooters that shoots out webs that can be used to trap people, pulls things out of people's hands, create objects, and all that good stuff. Although the creating objects part could have been an upgrade and this Parker from when he first started out.)
Web Crawling:3 (Would have been a 2 but he managed to crawl up a building in a couple of seconds in his first issue. And I don't know if you seen the building in New York City, but they are HUGE! Of course I haven't really been in New York but I know that they are bigger than the building in good old California. So yeah. Three should be good enough for the ol' webhead to get up there in less than a panel.)
-Agi bonus
Web Slinging:2 (Wasn't really gonna give him this thinking he bought in play. But after rereading the very first comic to have Spidey in it, I realized that Spider-Man claimed to be able to reach an old run down building that is on the other side of town/city in a few seconds. Wow. A two should be enough as that would be his max speed.)
-Agi Bonus
General Knowledge:2 (Obviously. Why wouldn't he have this?)
-Int Bonus
-Science
-Chemistry
Social Skills:1 (Does he even have this back then?)
-Scientific Community
Modifiers:
Prescience (Spider Senses, man. They obviously tell him what is going on.)
Reflexive Dodge:1 (I think Spider-Man upgraded this a bit throughtout the years.)
Toughness:2 (Read below to see why.)
Healing Factor (You can't buy a Healing Factor through lines. So obviously, the Web-Head had this from the start.
Wealth:-1 (He never seems to have enough dough.)
Equipment:
Web-Shooters:2 (As per what is said in the main book.)
Challenges:
Cursed:-5 (No what Spider-Man does. No matter where he goes. No matter how hard he tries. He will eventually fail. Sure his life would be great for a couple of issues and the people will love him during that time. But something will happen to make everyone hate his guts and want to run him out of town. There are many examples why Peter might as well be considered cursed. Some minor. Some major. The death of Gwen Stacy, even though Peter managed to grab her before she hit the ground, she still died of shock the dramatic changes in air pressure, is one example. Another is Aunt May dying from radiation. The radiation coming from a blood transfusion, and the donator being none other Peter Parker. Ouch. Yeah, the list is endless and this is why Spidey is famous. For no matter what happens. No matter how hard things be. No matter how many times he get knocked down, he will still get back up and try to protect the innocent and fight for what is right. No matter what, he will always be your friendly neighborhood Spiderman.)
Duty:-5 (Ummm...Great Power comes with Great Responsibility, anyone? Includes Compulsion to Stick up for Underdog.)
Vulnerable Loved Ones:-4 (His enemies will never stop at nothing to beat Spider-Man, even using the ones he loved as hostages. The best example I can think of with my limited comic knowledge is when the Sinister Six, first appearance, kidnapped Betty Brant and Aunt May. Aunt May was really a target, she just refused to leave Betty. But Doc Ock managed to realized that Spider-Man is always trying to save Ms. Brant so that made her a target.)
Prying Realitives/Associates:-2 (Aunt May has come close to figuring out Parker's identity many times. And it makes it a lot harder for Peter when he is living in the same house as her. Plus, Jameson is always trying to figure out how Peter gets great photos of Spider-Man. And seeing how is Spider-Man...)
Deadly Foes, J. Jonah Jameson:-2 (Jameson will stop at nothing to get rid of Spider-Man or at least prove he is a dangerous menance. His obession is so great that he created the Scorpion in order to get wid of the Wall-Crawler.)
Haunted Past:-3 (If Peter had stopped that robber, his uncle would still be alive.)
All in all, this is exactly a 37 stone character. I had decided that the web shooters that he had started with had cost 9 white stones. So what do you think? This is most likely what Spider-Man was like when he first started? Or do I need to make a few adjustments?
