! This is the skype thing built normally? *may need helps>>* I'm still figuring out the exact mechanical aspects of this, although some sort of chatroom or online messaging will be required (what with us being in multiple states and all.) Video or audio would be ideal. Tinychat is sounding pretty nice from what I'm seeing of it. I've got Skype and Ventrillo. I'll actually have to download Tinychat *le sigh* I am so put upon!

No download necessary; it's entirely web-based.

Still required me to sign up! I'm still an oppressed majority!

Poor fellah. So we gotta hash out so pre-game misadventures. DK says our misfits know each other!

My char. is somewhat of a Tony Stark type... smart but totally irresponsible. I wonder if DK will let me build myself an Iron Man suit... Taking off for my sons b-day party, might bbl depending on if I get sent to jail for killing a family member.

DK, what's your stance on Amalgam characters? Are there rules for combining classes, or do you just have to switch on level-ups?
Also, I know D&D has a weird multi-class system. How does that work, exactly?

Hey Rob, any idea which way you're leaning? I know we all have lots of options in front of us, and I'm all for complimentary roles. I think we have a rogue and whatever role an artificer plays.

How does that work, exactly? Basically, you can just take levels of whatever, but you start taking XP penalties if you have classes that are 2 or more levels apart, if one of them isn't your Favored Class.

So if I'm a Dwarf, I can be a Wizard 10/Monk 5. If I take a level of Monk, which serves to bridge the gap, I still take an XP penalty because the classes aren't two levels apart. If I take a level of Fighter, however, and am Wizard 10/Monk 5/Fighter 1, there's no penalty because I'm taking a level in my favored class?
If I'm a Human, my highest class is my favored class, yes?

mcr, I'm going to go away from the swashbuckler since it would clash with the Rogue that was optioned.
I'm thinking of playing either a Monk or a Cleric/Paladin, although the specifics beyond that are a bit hazy to me. The concept would be similar, regardless of which class I choose. Character was taken (Warforged was constructed, Shifter was abducted/"educated") by some crazies and educated to be a (Paladin/Cleric/Monk). After growing up, he realized that he was raised by crazies and has peaced right on out, looking to use his talents for good.
Alternatively, I'd like to play a Goblin/Kobold/Half-Orc of the same class options that is basically just a total monsterbadass. I'm not sure what the attribute spreads are for goblin or kobold, however, but I know they're heroic in Eberron, right?

Alternatively, in every instance of playing D&D 3.5, I've always made a conscious choice not to play a spellcaster-type. Maybe I'll go Wizard, but with a similar background.

What are the available base classes?

d20srd.org is a pretty good resource. The base classes for a normal 3.5 game are listed there. I am not sure if it is compatible with Eberron.

Yeah, I've been looking through that, but I know there are a ton of other ones that aren't on there that might interest me.
