So if I were to get a tattoo, I'm thinking it would be Magneto's helmet. I'm sure there's those on here far more savvy than I in doing so, so if anyone has great images to post as inspiration, please share!

Which version? Original? Old movie? New movie (First Class)? Ultimate?

Hell-to-the-no! There is only one true helmet! The one, the only, the original. The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

But if we're talking about one that would make a good tattoo, the Evolution one would probably work out the best.

Rob's right about needing an image that would translate to ink well.
But WK is 100% in that being the best helmet! Hence my trouble!
As for style, I think I've answered that. Though I'd want a helmet with no face/head occupying it.
Maybe some background would help.
I've always been mainly an X-Men fan. People always asked who was my favorite, and I never really had one in particular, I enjoyed them as a team. For a long time I even though getting an "X" badge emblem would be the right tattoo.
Then I realized why I liked Magneto so much. When well written, he was far beyond just a villian. Sure his methods were debatable at best, but when put in the context what future he's trying to prevent, who can say they can't be justfied? Charles always offered co-existence as a solution. Erik always believed co-existence at best, would only be temporary, that human hostility was an unavoidable outcome.
In short, Magneto Was Right. (Wasn't there a T-Shirt or something?)
Society, "people", "they", however you want to term them, will generally be predictable. That's how I've always interpretted Magneto's views when handled by most writers. And I usually found him to be right =P
Anyway, keep the images coming!

OH, I wasn't suggesting that particular image (which is why I didn't post it initially). I was just posting that as a reminder of why all other versions of Magneto's helmet suck ;D

I agree with WK that that's the helmet you'd want. Either do it right, or don't do it. You don't get second chances with tats.

Traditional might be classic... but well, the First Class exact replica of that looked dorky as hell!

It did, a bit. But it was also awesome to see it for real. Dunno, was like 1 second of "Whoa, dorky." then realization, "When you're that badass I guess you can pull off anything." =P
I was actually more put off by his....robe....thing? Compared to it, the helmet was awesome. Oh, and being surrounded by poser/loser versions of what should of been the real Brotherhood didn't help.

Traditional might be classic... but well, the First Class exact replica of that looked dorky as hell! I liked it when it was Shaw's... in the natural metgal-grays and bereft of that weird trident thing in the front. At the end, when Eric has it all Red'd out and added that weird horned-shield thing (for what reason I can't even begin to guess)... ugh. Ridiculous. Can't even find a picture of that scene. If I recall, the AoA helmet was pretty sweet looking though...

That entire bit of the film annoyed me really- why play that card so soon- it just doesn't make sense But the shape without the silly horns is the best- it's iconic and people will get it, with the silly devil horns people will be confused and you'#ll have to explain it!

Movie-wise, I was disappointed that he became Magneto so soon. Why skip all the years they work together becoming as brothers? Instead, they know each other a few weeks at best, then are supposed to have a meaningful.....grudge?
