@ Black Sam: What operating system are you using? @ Wildknight: Comparability mode is program that allows users to open older files on newer operating systems. I am not familiar with the MURPG character creator, but I assume it was designed to operate on Vista or XP. For a non tech savy example some X-Box games cannot be played on the X-Box 360 unless you install a patch first. The Compatibility mode for Windows basically allows users to operate some older programs with newer versions Windows. Having said that, here is a link that describes comparability mode, and shows how to use it. Having listened to Black Sam I would assume he is using Windows 7, and is running the MURPG character creator using Compatibility mode. His instructions are dead on, but this link goes into a little more detail. Hope that clears things up. I don't have the character creator installed, but if you have any more questions let me know. www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.htmlI think basically you would have to go to the location of your file, right click it, and choose compatibility mode to open it. If these were files I used regularly I would post a short cut of the folder containing it to my desktop.

Correct, sir, Window's 7. And thanks for explaining. Honestly, I usually have no idea what I'm doing...I tend to figure things out through error and error...

Don't let F-Bomb fool you, that's what MOST IT's actually do... it just so happens that we do it frequently enough (and fast enough, since we can usually see three steps ahead on a given trouble-shoot) that we're up on the jargon to explain what we figure out through trial and error.

So, in theory... if I tried to open the file in compatibility mode, I would then be able to export it?
OR... do I have to try to export it, and THEN open it in compatibility mode?
Yes, I'm late getting back to this.

Export it first, then go to the Characters folder and use Compatibility Mode. That will enable you to see the files in the folder, and you can open the text document normally.
