I'll be a stranger here, but I never really understood what people see in X-men Arcade game and Ninja Turtles games, especially "Turtles in Time". I played a lot of sidescroller beat'em ups, both classic and newer ones, but those two just... werent at all good. But hey, to each his own.

I think they were pretty average games, but that company put out a whole bunch of licensed games using almost the exact same formula for every one (including a Simpsons game). Basically if you enjoyed the format, you probably enjoyed the format applied to whatever license you were fond of.

lol well when turtled in time cam out i was about 6-8 i think, and my life was ninja turtles( as like every kid my age) it was also the FIRST turtle game where you could pic wut ever tutrle you wanted to be(witch of cores was a big deal as every 1 has a diff fave turtle) do to the limitations of SUPER nintendo you could only play 2player(mening a max of 2 turtles) but with the arcade you could have all 4 turltes going at it just like in the show. it did not mater who the other 3 kids playing with you where as you all loved the game you where plaing. if im not mistaken that was also the same year the second turtle move came out and the UBER boss of turtle in time was SUPER shredder. i mean wut elce do u need in a game? i found the arcade games of my youth much more memerable and socal then i do with the "internet" games of today shure i can hear there voice but i will never meet them. arcade games to me are mor for the memroys of how great it was then the game itself now but when i was yonger the games where always to cool to pass up.

Pre-Ordered it. Enjoyed it. Not amazing, but certainly enjoyable for me. I'm probably 2/3 through a second playthrough as Aimi with Energy Projection. Choosing Force Field instead of Meteor Smash is making it more difficult than I would have expected. However, I've still got Giga Beam and Critical Mass for roasting baddies.
Interestingly, I think one of the game's worst flaws is its story. Mainly, that it doesn't really change much if you choose Brotherhood or X-Men. You still fight the same mutant-hating Purifiers. Basically, your choices don't matter. Different choices just give you slightly different missions, and some different Trophies/Achievements. Playing through X-men the first time, and Brotherhood the second, I've already got 2/3 of the trophies, and I might get all of them by the end of next week. (Even though it's a short game, I don't have much free time lately.)
I've heard of this game getting some truly abysmal reviews like 2 out of 10. I don't think those are really deserved, but there are certainly better ways to spend $60. (I'd reccomend Arkham Asylum and InFamous, but those should both be painfully obvious already.) Heck, I seem to recall Force Unleashed II getting 6 out of 10, and I'd say X-Men Destiny is better than that, so it probably deserves about a 7.

I've read several reviews that basically agree with your take on the story. That seems to be a problem with these kinds of games in general. Marvel Ultimate Alliance gave you the same missions whether you were for or against registration, etc.
Seems like genuine branching takes more work than most developers are willing to put in.

ya but at least with ult alliance 2 diff path = diff bosses Still didn't make it worth playing through more than once. I played MUA at least half a dozen times all the way through. MUA2... I had to force myself to finish the first time, and the second play-through I never got more than 2 or 3 missions in.

MUA2 was just awful, especially on PS2 (but I made a huge rant about it earlier, so I wont be repeating myself anymore).

i rented and beten the game more than enouf times to give it a fare review. I can sum up the game in 1 word LAZY.
the rasion for that is simple, it is you fight the end boss 3 times with verry little difference threwout the game. on the harder difficutly the guys just simply do more dmg and soem times there are more of them. witch would be ok if the game had any kind of AI but saidly it does not. altho i like the abilty to pick the hero and power you kinda cant. as the people have differences. 1 beign hi hp low energy. 1 is balansed and 1 is low hp hi energy. and guess wut 1 power needs alot of energy 1 need low energy and the final power need decent energy but you have to have the health to take the damage durring the cooldown times. so in the end your kinda stuck with the powers each hero is ment to have. you can play the game without having the right powers (i did) but it is just nedlesly harder. witch is fine for me but for kids the only 1 who want to rilly exparament with the powers not so much. alot of the controls are jumpy like wall jumping on ledges(saidly you need to know how to do this by the end or you screwed) it was always a pain to wall clime as jumping up ledges was less than easy or fun. and normaly you can move your camra angle to get better views not the way when you on a ledge once you get on the wall you on a locked camra angle and not normlay the best one. Glitchy graphicks was saidly a problem the one that botherd me the most was when talking to gamid in the bar he does not move at all in the seen but nun the less his cote goes right threw his leg. so it was not a movment error just laznous. the game was extremly short but wut should have only taken me about 30 min to beat a second time always takes 1-3 hours becaous of Cutsens, yes for some reasion you can not skip them even when they make you talk to an x-man/brotherhood member you have to at least say goodbuy witch is a 1-3 min convo on wut you dong next. amd om soem parts you have to retalk the same thing every time becaus the game doesnt give you a choice. the game was fun i did like it it was needlesly frusterating at times, but all in all i liked it more than i did not. it is Way to easy, and the ending boss is less then a challange, it is almost like a revers of most games as aposd to making you fight 1 hard boss every time you fight 3-4 easy boss or bosses with no abilty to heal in between so you hade to be carfull on your hp when fighting. but durring the final boss battel where this would have atualy been a problem there supply you wuth plenty of "goons" to get hp from, and the ending boss has 1 EXTREEM weekenss that every boss in the game shaires, YOUR powers do TO MUCH DMG, even on hard i could 1 hit the boss exsept after you do so much DMG to a boss it goes to a cut seen so you power wont 1 hit them but with only 3 cutseens a boss and the abilty to use your powers 4-5 times a boss battle ( if got got any form of energy regen or increase) this just wont matter as you will just do you power 2-3 times to 3 hit him. to sum up my crazy rant.
the game was fun but lazy it is more for kids with limited options on wut you can do or say and easy/quick victorys.
the game itsell is lazy where there are manny glitches and problems that should have esaly been fixed but just never where.
i got the feling there was saposed to be more the the game but never was, like the final boss battle was saposed to be longer but just wasnot i assumed on hard I waould get the "real game" so to speak where this where actulay hard.
altho i retunrd the game today i manged to beat it with every hero using every power on every diffaculty, and still unlock everything. so i would not recamed buying this game untill it is in the $10-$20 area as $60 for a game you can finish everything in 7 days is just not worth it.
