The head of your family (Don) Anthony Corleone, had called you into a meeting last week to discover their true nature.
From what he told you, it seems as if they all had a falling out with their capo. and had come to the Corleone family looking for work. Although that is what they had told Don Corleone, it seems as if they had continued to conduct business as usual. They still went to their same areas and collected the same amount of money from the same people as they had been doing before.
Was this in defiance of the Rizzuto family or did they have their blessing to be on their turf? Don Corleone had asked you to find out, by getting to the bottom of this matter. If they indeed were looking for work, then Don Corleone told you to bring them to him. If however, at the end of your observations you felt that they working for the Rizzuto family (by infiltrating and spying on the Corleone) then Don Corleone told you to "Hit 'em."
