In a saturated market that's shifting all the time to free play to claw in new players/prevent old ones from leaving the consumer'll be the winner - at least for a while. There's so many MMORPGs out there now that I think we'll start to see them disappear. I still remember Xmas day last year. My son had rattled on for ages about Lego Universe, so he's giddy as anything when Santa brought it ;D An hour later we're onto something else. Sum total play of Lego Universe for the £30 purchase price? That'd be an hour Still gathering dust on the shelf. Even Santa can't make a crap game good ... Think we've had more fun with Champions online, but that brought back horrible memories of treadmill grinding on City of Heroes...

I’m more of a handheld guy so I don’t have much to look forward to now… though I actually marked the release date for last month’s Prof Layton game down on my calendar.
I’m looking forward to the announcements of new 3DS Zelda and Smash Brothers games but they haven’t even started making either one so they could easily go the way of Mega Man Legends 3.
I’m also hoping that the DS version of Ni no Kuni (the Level-5/Studio Ghibli RPG collaboration) comes out in the US but I’m not really optimistic. The American release date for the PS3 version isn’t until the end of 2012. Between the Western DS version not having an announced release date and the 3DS system replacing the DS, I don’t have high hopes that I’ll see it.

Like Shenron Said instead of losing my 200 hours of life on oblivion, im prepared to lose 500 Hours of my life to Skyrim lol ;D At least you are prepared for it. That is half the battle. I am sure my wife is going to get to play Skyrim before I do (for the fact I will be addicted to MW3 and Halo: Combat Evolved, plus trying to get good at Capcom vs. Marvel 3.) . I have cut her teeth on Fable 2 and 3 and Dragon Age 1 and 2. Now it is time for her to get into a real game.

Skyrim is really the only one I'm anticipating right now. Other games look cool but my brother and I are picking Skyrim up at midnight tonight. I pre-ordered my copy earlier this week so we're both extraordinarily excited.

Well, Now that Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is out, and Skyward Sword comes out tomorrow, all that's left for me to mention is Mass Effect 3. Too bad that won't be out until March.
I suppose I'm also slightly interested in The Old Republic and Super Mario 3D Land, but not in a "I need to buy that as soon as I've got the money" way. It's more of a "Maybe when it drops below $30..." kind of way.
But hey, I've still got got Arkham City and InFamous 2 waiting to be finished.

I downloaded DC Universe and installed/ran it. Plays like a slideshow but I guess that's my own fault - my 'local' hard drives are full so I run it from a USB dock/hard drive. Time to get the screwdriver out and decide which drive to swap out with.
The other issue is my crappy video card. Back in... what, 2006? It was top dog and cost a fortune. These days a 7800gtx would be crapped on by a budget card. I recently upgraded the other bits (2600k o/clocked to 4.5 to stay on the safe side of 5ghz, 8gb ram, motherboard, ssd boot drive) but holding off on the video card. I fancy another PS3 (my son uses the front room one, I want one for playing 18+ games and watching movies in the computer room) but there's also a bunch of new video cards out next month.
My biggest problem is that I love the old games I've got and with every new video card they seem to update the drivers so that your old stuff won't work (yeah, Nvidia, you. That's it, shrug and tell me I got an extra frame per second but can't play loads of my old games without garbled screens. Thanks a bunch *rage*)
