note:
my friend and i bought the books a long time ago and since we shared the one copy i no longer have it (he moved away) but i think i got the costs right.
this character is just something i felt like making, although if theres any game in which he'd fit that'd be awesome!
the background is quite lengthy so i dont mind if you dont feel the need to read it.
NOTE: had this saved from another day, forgot to save the Shaman skill in actions, its in different color font and i removed Targetting and Enhanced vision from modifiers which was in my original post

Gustav Nils was born in Alaska 15 miles from the town of Homer. His parents, aunt, uncle and cousins lived together on a two home piece of property that was almost entirely self sustaining. His grandfather had married an eskimo woman named Kirima. Kirima's father taught them how to live off the land and how best to harvest the land and those methods were passed down to Gustav's father and uncle. Gustav's family grew their own crops, hunted their own meat and repaired their homes and equipment. He was taught how to live off the land and survive without the basics of the modern home. This was not to say they didn't have tv and computer just that he was taught how to get by without such things.
He was home schooled until age 18 when he went to college to study earth science. While at school he often got to go on school trips to mines and national parks. He fell in love with the woods on his trips and after finishing college dedicated his life to forest preservation.
Growing up so close to nature he had gained a strong connection to animals and though he had hunted and killed them for food he also loved and cared for them. He always went out of his way to protect and take care of injured animals and often nursed them back to health, usually camping in the woods to keep the animal from getting too used to human interaction. As he grew older he felt he needed to not just help injured animals but to help other people who couldnt help themselves.
After college he got a job as a forest ranger at Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve in his home state of Alaska. While there he often spent days at a time in the woods alone. He felt in tune with nature far more than anyone else seem to have. He began to have extremely good night vision and could see further than most people could believe. He also found he incredible luck with finding food and sometimes even felt as if he could see things happening before they happened. Realizing his senses were becoming so powerful he decided to talk to his grandmother who had spoken of eskimo shamans who had similar abilities. After he showed her his increased senses she sent him on a journey to a woman Kirima claimed was almost 200 years old. Gustav found it hard to believe but feeling an unusual strength in his blood he made the journey anyway .
He found himself in Eskimo fishing village near King Cove on the western part of the Alaska penninsula. There he met the woman who the elders said had no name. The village elder who was easily over 80 called her grandmother but Gustav dismissed it as her being his actual grandmother since the two appeared to be a similar age. She told Gustav to explain why he had come and how Kirima sent him to her.
After a few moments of silence the woman reached her hands out and a great light filled the small room in which they sat , blinding Gustav for a moment. When the light faded Gustav felt more alert but not very different.
She asked him to step outside and to look out on the ocean to the south and tell her what he could see. At first he said nothing and the woman asked him to clear his mind and focus, pointing out to what appeared to be a very specific direction. He took a deep breath and looked out along the path she pointed and as he peered out he could see a ship in the distance with unbelievabe clarity. Had he known much about ships he easily could have identified the model and size of the ship.
She then explaind to him that Gustav had the shaman spirit in him and that she had awakened his potential but it was up to him to put it to use. He was blessed with increased senses and awareness and given the time of his birth that he had also been born under a lucky moonrise.
With practice he could even learn to communicate with nature and channel the natural energies around him into power so long as it was used to protect others and to protect nature.
The woman's final words for Gustav was that he needed to go out in the world and to seek wisdom through experiences. Travel far and wide and he would find his true calling. So Gustav set out on a new path with a new sense of purpose searching for his true calling.
