I'm looking for some ideas on how to price increasing duration of powers. This is to find a good way for something to last longer, like a napalm or posion effect.

Well, I guess it really depends on what you mean by increase the duration.
Some Actions have duration built in... Phase Shifting and Pheremones being perfect examples. To increase the duration of those, simply buy them at higher Action Numbers.
However, when I think of an attack, I think of it as being instantaneous... if it's an attack that you want to make last for a certain duration, you'll need to clarify what you mean. Are you expecting the person to take damage each panel for a certain length of time after one hit? Or are you saying they should be *affected* by the attack for a certain amount of time?

They list increasing the range of something as a +1 per level, but duration of things can be a bit more touchy.

They list increasing the range of something as a +1 per level, but duration of things can be a bit more touchy. OK, I guess you're not necessarily talking about doing damage. In that case... Let's take the case of Metamorphosis. Say you purchased it with the option that your new form lasts for 1 hour. One hour registers as a level 3 duration on the D&RC. I would say, just add a +1 to the cost of the power to add +1 to this duration. For example, Metamorphosis costs AN+6 normally. Change the cost to AN+7, and bump up the available time that you can keep your power from a level 3 (1 hour) to a level 4 (a few hours.) This seems to work, but the only other power I can find where this sort of thing is even relevant is: - Tranform Others By Touch (just assume that it's cost level is 10... add 1 to the cost level, so that for 20 white stones you get to change people into stuff for a few hours.) One power it definitely SHOULDN'T work on is Steal Superpower (not quite sure how you'd handle that one, as it's measured in second touch=minute effect. Ick.) Just keep in mind that a lot of powers let you determine the duration, as long as you pay 1 red stone per panel. And a lot of powers (Hunting/Tracking, Phase Shifting, etc.) determine the duration by the Action Number, or by the "damage" they cause (Pheremones.) Does this help? -Wayne
