I was less than thrilled about them embracing the recent “Curt Connors is ALSO evil” interpretation of the character.
This actually bothered the hell out of me. Not because Connors has always been a good guy and the Lizard evil. I could get past the idea that the Lizard personality was dominant in either form. I could even get past the idea that maybe Connors was disillusioned by the his alternate form. I couldn't get past the fact that it was the same damn formula as the first of the Spider-Man trilogy.
Man is working on a big project.
Big wigs see it's not going their way.
Man tries to convince them he needs more time.
Big wigs fire man.
Man gets frustrated and jumps the gun.
Man is horribly transformed.
Man has split personalities.
Spider-Man (not to be confused with Man), comes in and pisses off Man.
Man discovers Spider-Man's identity.
Spider-Man kicks the living hell out of Man and Man reforms just in time.
Spider-Man makes a decision about love life.
There ARE other stories. You CAN use them.
