Started Civil War with 5 of my players last night.
The Cast
Scott (old high school chum, recently came to the board here as AragornTC) as Captain America. He's angling to spend XP to unlock Namor though.
Amanda (my wife) as Ms. Marvel, who apparently has trouble ripping the door off of a commercial airliner
Evan (another old HS buddy) as The Thing, who one-shot KO'd Titanium Man in the most anti-climactic battle scene of all time.
Anthony (the Actuary and ruthless min/maxer I"m always on about) as Spider-Man, who... well did pretty much Spider-Man stuff. He didn't have any big moments, but he was probably the closest representation to the actual comic book character of anyone at the table.
Chris Mays (one of Anthony's old college chums) as Doctor Strange, who all-but single-handedly faced down a Congressional Commitee in an attempt to avoid the passing of the registration act.
*********************************************************
We didn't get all the way through Act One, but we made some great progress. The highjacking scene, which I thought was going to be a quickie (Crusader against Cap, Thing, and Spidey? cake, right?) was probably the most epic scene of of the night, as we saw a pitched battle for control of the plane, Captain America without his shield, Thing wading through a host of cultists, and Ms. Marvel saving the plane by catching it in mid-air Superman style. It was awesome.
It'll probably be over a month before we get to play again, but I'm really looking forward to it.
