I'm thinking about getting started on Fantasy Flight's Star Wars RPG. Unfortunately, I', not really sure where to start. There's Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, and Beginner Boxes for both. But the beginner boxes don't have rules for making characters, just four or five pre-gens. So, I'm worried that I'll quickly get bored with just a few characters.
Also not sure how many of their special dice I'll want, or if I'll get the app. And I'm considering waiting for the Force and Destiny book. That's supposed to be out sometime this year, right?
So, anyone want to shed some light of this for me? Why would I prefer one over another? Cooler ships? Different character options?
P.S. In case you haven't guessed, I haven't been making much progress adapting Marvel Heroic to the Star Wars setting.

I'm waiting for F&D. With each being a stand alone product, I imagine that most of the kinks should be worked out by then.

The beginners boxes are good investments because you get a pre-published adventure that highlights a good variety of what the mechanics do, but introduces them slowly throughout the scenario, as well as a set of dice (the dice for the game are stupidly expensive). Between the three "core" books, it really depends on what kind of campaign you want to run. Edge of the Empire is for your smugglers, bounty hunters, etc. Age of Rebellion is for rebel agents. The third one (Force & Destiny, or something like that) is going to have full-blown force user characters (Jedi, etc), and hopefully they won't be so powerful that they stomp all over all of the other character types in the game... but I'm reasonably certain that'll be the case, as it has been with all 3 d20 Star Wars games.
