Passive means defense that's always there and you don't have to put any effort into. In other words, things like Toughness, Reflexive Dodge and Armor. Active defense refers to when you "actively" put stones of energy into it. Whenever you shift stones into Defense, that's what's called "active" defense, because you're paying for it that Panel.
So to sum up, passive defense is free each Panel and active defense is what you put effort into.

In my house rules, active defense means anything that makes a target more difficult to hit. This not only includes stones shifted from an Action, but Modifiers such as Reflexive Dodge.
On the flip side, passive defense is anything that simply reduces the amount of damage a target takes once he's been hit by an attack - this includes Toughness, Force Fields, etc.

Hi, many thanks for posting your CADs. They are all very professional-looking and excellent in general. I know I'll be using them a lot, so thanks and thanks and thanks--I hate tearing a page out of a book to make copies, so your character sheets are exactly what I was looking for.

I'd like to point out that if you have and can use Photoshop, you can open these .pdf files and edit the text directly into the boxes for a crisp, clean CAD.
By the way, the no-background CAD is now my new standard.

Just a quick note for those doing the typing thing. I've been using a 7.5pt Verdana, and it fits perfectly between the lines of the action/modifier boxes and stuff. I just finished making a template so that all future characters I choose to make can simply be typed up and printed out, crisp and clean.

Just an FYI to anybody that stumbles along: I hadn't realized when I re-worked my site a couple years back that I'd removed these files, thus breaking the links to them. I've reposted them, so the links should be working again. If anybody has trouble accessing the files, feel free to contact me at xfatestoyx at Yahoo dot com. Zen
