-At times, explained the Archmage after nodding, as she felt several shivers going down her spine due to the cold floor. I travel a lot, however, and I have several other duties. Therefore, Tolfdir, our Master Wizard here at the College, handles most of the smaller tasks in my absence. I visit fairly frequently, though, and as you guessed, this place is full of skilled mages, so if they need me, they can contact me fairly easily.
She looked around the Arcanaeum quickly, just in case she had left a pair of boots there in a former visit (considering how she had lost three pairs recently over the bridge, she had taken a habit of leaving a pair or two here and there, just in case). As she searched with her eyes, she introduced the orc mage to the redhead:
-Black Widow, this is Urag gro-Shub, mage and librarian here at the Arcanaeum. This area is under his supervision and responsibility, and many books are the receptacle of some ancient sorcery or another, so you would be wise to ask him for any of your needs in books, and follow his guidance when it comes to consulting them. Urag, this is Black Widow. She is my guest, from another world... and as such, we came here to ask you, if you'd be so kind, to show us any book we might have here about dimensional travel and other worlds, that are not Planes of Oblivion. If it's any help, a god named Loki came from the same world. Any more information you could offer him to help, Widow? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 stones into Intelligence plus 3 from Animal Senses to try and locate a pair of boots I might have left here before. Failing that, I will summon a different pair next panel.
6 stones into Social Skills (Kind and cheerful) plus 3 from Attractive, to introduce Widow and Urag, and tell Urag of what we need.

You fail to find some boots, but you do locate a pair of open-heeled snow bearskin slippers.
Widow just looks on. As Urag searches the halls like a well-toothed comb locating several tomes, and handing each one to you. "Return them to me when you are done, take them outside the college, and I'll behead you myself." He warns as Widow stands in shock.
"Ummm... Not to interupt your work here Archmage, but you wouldn't happen to have some more comfortable clothes I can wear? This armor really isn't idea for my fighting style."

-He probably means it, Anaya said with an amused smile behind her ebony mask, as she put on the slippers. She remembered that one time when the orc had told her pretty much the same thing even after she had became the Archmage. "Archmage or not, you damage one of those books and I'll make you regret the day you were born". For some reason, she liked the grumpy old man. He was a true warrior, despite wearing a mages' robes, and he was truly great at his job. We'll be careful, Urag, thanks.
She then took the books to a nearby table next to two armchairs, nodding:
-Yes, yes in fact, I do have something for you. Considering your fighting style, and your name, I believe you will find those to your liking. Diivon.
After a short, not particularly loud Dragon shout, she handed the woman a black and red outfit, complete with bracers and boots, with a hood and a piece of cloth for hiding one's face... most pieces displaying a black symbol, of a black hand imprint.
-...This... is a suit of light armor of one of the most famous groups of assassins of all of Tamriel, the Dark Brotherhood. It is not only quite... fitting to a silhouette such as yours, but it is also very practical. You will find its enchantments to support you well in your fighting style, according to what I have seen you do.
She then sat and took one of the books.
-I suggest you either get changed immediately and then help me with those books, or help me first and get changed later. If necessary, we can always head for my quarters, if you prefer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 stones into Dragon Shout (Carry Gear) plus 2 from Dragonforce, to give Widow a full suit of Dark Brotherhood light armor. It's a basic one, with the regular enchantments. ^_^

Widow ducks behind a bookshelf and gets changed before joining you back at the table.

The archmage removed her mask, putting it down on the table before removing her hood, to facilitate reading.
-Hm. You look great, as expected, she said with a friendly smile. Now then... let us search these books for anything that might lead you back to your world. If it is of any comfort, I will do anything in my power to bring you back. I swear it upon my honor, she concluded, her hand on her heart as though to seal the deal.
She then grabbed the first book and started reading, looking through tables of contents and any hint that any given book might hold the lore they were seeking. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 12 stones (Ef.) into General Knowledge (Occult Lore, Skyrim Folklore, myths, legends and rumors) to search both my mind and our books for info about how to send the Widow back into her world.
2 stones into Speed to do so quickly, but with great attention to detail.
Will renew stones until I find, unless something happens before that.

for hours you carefully scan through each book, you come up with some information on how to force something from an unknown dimensional plane back to whence it came. You'll need 6 Black Soul Gems, and 2 Daedra Hearts to perform the ritual along with a wide space to carve a fairly large runic symbol in the ground. You look to tell Black Widow the news only to find she's fallen asleep in her chair.

The Dragonborn was about to inform her new friend of the good news, when she realized the woman was sleeping. She smiled, but decided to let her rest for the moment. There'd be plenty of time to tell her soon. First, about the ritual... Daedra Hearts, 2 needed. She had one left from her past travels. Enthir probably sold some more, as every week or so (she never knew where the Bosmer got his hands on such a steady supply of such a rare ingredient, but he did refer to himself as "the guy that can get things"). As for Black Soul gems... she had two filled. She also had the Black Star, but she had yet to give it a new tenant. Which means... three more to go, preferably filled. Some merchants, some mages would sell them, and she had more than enough money to buy. If she could get some empty ones, it'd be all right too... there were still bandits to hunt down out there.
As for the symbol carving, it could be easily handled by Tolfdir in the meantime. Black Widow would be back in her world in no time. It was a bit sad, though, she was a good ally to have by one's side. She decided to let the girl sleep for the moment, they'd go looking for Black Soul Gems when she'd wake up. In the meantime... she had an enchantment or two to complete... and after that, she had to have a word with Enthir and Tolfdir. But first... she took off her slippers, putting them on a nearby stool. Searching in her pockets, she reached for that Lesser Soul gem she had trapped a Falmer's soul with earlier. She had decided to enchant them with a little trick she had just thought of... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 stones (Ef.) into Magic (Enchantment), plus 2 from Dragonforce, plus 2 from Archmage's Robes; 2 to increase the weapon modifier of her slippers to +3, 4 to give them a range of 4 when thrown, 2 to make them return to the user's feet after being thrown or losing them (if the wearer wishes them to come back of course) as long as the other slipper is worn, 2 to make them both Indestructible, and 1 to make them extra comfy.
I'm also using up the Lesser Soul Gem to make the enchantment permanent. ^_^

You enchant both slippers into more significant weapons as you slip them back on, you feel the inside being warmer and softer than before.

Looking at her latest creation with a satisfied smile, she stood up and walked a bit around with them. The "Rose Thorns", as she decided to call them, would be both perfect as footwear and an unexpectedly deadly, even more unexpected secondary weapon. Reaching for her mask, she put it back on, and replaced the hood on her head. She then took the books Urag had given her, save for the one she still needed, and brought them back to him.
-Thank you again, Urag. We have found what we need. I still have a need for the last book, but I will return it once we are done.
She then concentrated her mind again, this time for a different kind of magic. Using a low-level spell of illusion magic, she sent a whisper across the College, seemingly through the wind.
"Master Wizard Tolfdir... Enthir... please meet me at the Arcanaeum, I must discuss a certain matter with you." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 10 stones (Ef.) into Magic (Illusion) plus 2 from Dragonforce, plus 2 from Archmage's Robes, plus 2 from Champion of the Night; 3 for the effect of having the wind whisper my message across the College, 2 for the clarity of the message, 2 to make sure not to wake Widow up (girl needs her sleep, lol), 9 into covering the whole College's area with the effect.

Urag merely grunts in acknowlegdement.
Within minutes Tolfdir and Enthir both arrive. "What is it you require now Archmage?" Tolfdir asks.

Anaya Rosethorne
-Thanks for coming swiftly, my friends, Anaya said politely.
Allow me to be brief: this young woman here is actually from another world, a plane other than our own, yet different from the ones we are accustomed to hearing about, exploring and studying. I have discovered a ritual that should send her bac but in order to complete it, I will need your help. Tolfdir... as you can see in this book, she said, showing him the page in question, we will need this symbol to be carved on a large surface. Just in case something like this happens again, or if we need to create a more permanent portal if such a thing is even possible, I would like it to be carved onto one of the towers, either the rooftop of the Hall of Countenance or the Hall of Attainment. I trust I can leave this task to you while I gather the missing spell components?
As for Enthir...
-Speaking of which... Enthir, would you happen to be selling any Daedra Hearts or Black Soul Gems, preferably filled, today again? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 6 stones into Social Skills (Kind and Cheerful, Heroine) plus 3 from Attractive, to ask the two of them to help me with the ritual.

"I will get right on that Arch-Mage." Tolfdir says.
"Of course, I have 2 hearts, and 2 empty Black Soul Gems for the usual price." He says.

Anaya Rosethorne
-Thank you, Tolfdir. When she awakens, we will depart to find the rest of what we need, then return to perform the ritual. We will meet on the Hall's rooftop once we are back.
She nodded at Enthir:
-Perfect. I will take all, if you please. As usual, I'll pay mostly in gemstones, and the rest in gold.
She gave him the payment, including all the gemstones she had on her, and paid the differences in gold coins. Of course, she had plenty more gemstones at home, but she sure as heck didn't carry that many with her at once, Dragon Shouts or not. With that, she now had three Daedra Hearts, and four Black Soul gems, two filled. That meant she'd have a Daedra heart over if necessary at a later date, and that she only needed one more Black Soul gem... and four souls to fill them and the Black Star up.
Now that she thought about it, she was fairly sure she had seen several in Castle Volkihar, which meant they were basically hers to take, seeing how she was the master of the Castle and all that. Looked like this was a good opportunity to visit Serana...
-That will be all, gentlemen. Thank you kindly for the help.

-Good. Please return the book to Urag once you are done, Tolfdir. Me and the girl will depart when she wakes up. In the meantime... I have a bit of reading to do, if you do not mind. I'll see you once we return.
She sat not too far from Widow's own chair, reading through the other books for anything interesting until the redhead would wake up. She didn't know if she could find anything about the girl's homeworld, but if she saw anything, she'd read it.
