"What the hell...Power Man, we got nothing to grab onto. Lets try to dive" Iron Fist says and he throws his arms forward and tried to make an elegant dive...

First, a couple BASH! UE lessons, because based on the comic book that this adventure is based on, Power Man and Iron Fist knew both these lessons. Lesson 1 [BASH! ULTIMATE EDITION Page 27]FALLING If you fall from a height, you fall 3 stories the first page, 6 stories the next page, and 10 stories per page after that. Falling "movement" (after the initial fall) occurs at the start of your panel. When you hit the ground, you take x1 Dmg for every building story (about 10 feet) you fall to terminal velocity of x10. So falling from a 5 story building causes you to take x5 Dmg. Falling from a 10, 13, or 20 story building causes x10 Dmg. Note that being knocked back into an object is treated the same as falling damage in most respects. When you hit the ground, you can attempt an Athletics/Acrobatics check to mitigate the falling damage. Your result/20 (discard any remainder) is added to your soak multiplier against the falling damage. This does not affect knock-back. Lesson 2 [BASH! ULTIMATE EDITION Page 22]Take the Hit: By holding off on taking your panel, or using a Hero Die to make an interrupt action, you can dive into the way of an attack meant for someone else, or provide cover to someone in a Burst. You can also hold onto an explosive and let it blow up in your hands or fall on it, so that only you take the damage from it instead of everyone else. By doing this, you are essentially taking 0 for your defense. This move is only recommended for really tough or self-sacrificing characters.
The George Washington bridge is 212 feet over the water of the Hudson River. Power Man and Iron Fist have now fallen 90 feet, and have 122 more feet to fall before they hit the choppy grey waters below. Iron Fist's Hits: 68 Power Man's Hits: 25

Luke attempts to get in Danny's way in a way so he absorbs the hit from the water and Danny takes none.
OOC: In other words, I am gonna take the hit for Iron Fist, if possible.

"Haven't you heard the term, unbreakable skin? The worst that will happen is I get knocked out while you are conscious enough to get me to a hospital."

"Fair enough, good luck then and thanks for looking out" Iron Fist said with a sigh as the water loomed near.

Rolling (manually) for the falling damage. I got a 2 and a 1. You guys are really lucky! Multiplied by 10 that's only 30 Hits. Rolling Soak for Power Man who decided to take the hit. A 5 and a 4. Multiplying this 9 by Power Man's Soak of 6 is 54. So Power Man's steel hard skin protects both Power Man and Iron Fist from the fall! However, the Heroes for Hire fall until they are 37 feet (over 7 squares) under water. Rule notes:UNDERWATER (from page 27) Acting underwater is a minor hindrance to anyone without Super Swimming. All characters can hold their breath for 5 pages. After that, a character can continue to hold their breath by making a Brawn check at the beginning of their panel. Also (from page 18): Characters swim at Brawn x1 squares. It's also possible to Move twice (sprint) in a single panel (instead of "Move then Attack". According to these rules, Power Man can swim to the surface ahead of Iron Fist or he can hang back and they can swim together. Please post your characters' actions. Remember, neither Danny or Luke can speak underwater. Iron Fist's Hits: 68 Power Man's Hits: 25

Iron Fist gets Power Man's attention by grabbing his wrist and pointing up. Then Iron Fist starts swimming towards the surface.

Iron Fist reaches out to get Power Man's attention-- Although Power Man absorbed the shock, the impact was brutal. Is he still alive? He's sinking fast![OOC: This change was made to allow the game to continue for Iron Fist while Power Man isn't able to post.]Blackness starts closing in as Iron Fist forces himself to swim after his partner to grab his wrist. Is it just the dirty river water, or are his own injuries taking their toll? OOC: Iron Fist needs to succeed at an Athletics/Swimming skill check with Tough 20 difficulty.
Roll: 1 + 1 (doubles) + 1 (match) + 2 = 5 x 3 Agility (Athletics) = 15
Iron Fist fails to grab Power Man, so Luke drops to 9 squares below the surface, and Iron Fist can only hold his breadth for 4 more panels.
Iron Fist can still swim down 2 more squares and then try again to grab Power Man. Since we don't want Cage to drown and I see no other choice, I'll go ahead and roll for this action.
Roll: 2 + 6 = 8 x 3 Agility (Athletics) = 24!
Iron Fist grabs Power Man!
Unfortunately, holding Power Man will slow down Iron Fist's rate of swimming to 2 squares per panel. So after swimming up 6 squares, Iron Fist has to succeed at a Typical (10) Brawn check each page to prevent passing out.
Brawn Check Roll to reach 1 square below the surface.
He can now spend the next 3 pages to swim up the 9 squares, just before
Roll: 6 + 6 (doubles) + 3 = 15 x 2 Brawn = 30!!!
Since that is 20 over the 10 needed, I'm going to consider the last square to be covered by that last roll because it was really good. so Iron Fist successfully held his breadth for 7 panels, when the normal maximum is 5!Iron Fist's Hits: 68 Power Man's Hits: 25 (Not breathing...please wait for Iron Fist to recover you.)

"This is not good" Iron Fist thinks to himself as he is trying to drag Wonder Man to shore.
[OOC: Want me to to continue to shore and start doing CPR or do you have something else to post?]

But he won't be--unless Iron Fist does something fast!Iron Fist is going to start doing CPR. He's got to apply pressure to force the water out of Power Man's windpipe. Due to Cage's steel-hard skin, this is a Typical 10 difficulty action. FYI: Iron Fist may want to first Concentrate and use his Chi Ability to raise his Brawn from x1 to x2 for 10 Pages, but after the 10 Pages he will then lose 25 Hits for exhaustion.Since rolling for Iron Fist feels like playing this game against myself, please roll 2d6 (plus any extra dice if you roll doubles). Multiply by (Brawn) and check against 10. If you fail the check you can try again or try something else. However, it does matter how long this takes and what the rolls are, so please post each try. Also, let me know if you like rolling yourself, or if you prefer for me to roll for Iron Fist next time. Thanks! Iron Fist realizes that he is not strong enough due to Power Man's unique abilities. Iron Fist takes a deep breathe to relax and then calls about his Chi to increase his strength and again tries to continue CPR on Power Man.
______ OOC: I rolled 2d6. One came up a 6 and one came up a 3. That totals 9 X 2 (from the increased Brawn) for a total of 18. I do not mind rolling for myself.

OOC: Rules for drowning are on page 27 of the BASH UE RPG. Technically, if a character is brought to 0 hits by drowning, they can be saved by a 20 Medicine/Paramedic check delivered within a few minutes of this happening. This would be very difficult for Iron Fist to succeed at with a Mind of 1 and no Medicine Skill. I decided to raise his Mind to 2 and gave him the Medicine/First Aid skill. Please roll 2d6 and multiply by 2. If that fails to equal or beat 20 try again... and again. Please let me know the results of each roll. (Remember to roll a 3rd die if the first two are doubles) I decided to award both Power Man and Iron Fist for Power Man's drowning, using the Plot Twist rules on page 20. So you can also decide to spend up to 3 Hero Point on recovering Power Man if you roll a result of 17, 18 or 19 to make it a 20. In other news, I raised Iron Fist's Brawn to 2 permanently, so you won't need to lose 25 Hits for using Brawn 2 last page. Sorry about all the changes. I'm new to BASH rules and learning as I go how best to balance the many Daily Bugle characters. Iron Fist's Hits: 68 Iron Fist's Hero Points: 3
Power Man's Hits: 0 (Not breathing...please wait for Iron Fist to recover you.) Power Man's Hero Points: 3
