The Jean Grey School of Higher Learning...
These are not good days to be an X-Man...
In the weeks after the Avengers, and X-Men threw down over the Pheonix force debacle, the mutant population has seen a massive boom to levels that dwarfed even pre-Genohsan massacre levels.
It also REALLY pissed off a lot of humans, causing anti-mutant sentiment at an all time high.
The X-Men are again split in two teams because that douchebag Cyclops couldn't leave well enough alone and sit in his cell like a man would. No he had to break out and start his own school, the other x-Men are now busting their humps to bring him to justice.
You just got done helping Storm each her Aerial Gym class for the day, and are resting in your room... a special isolation chamber lined with circutry that cuts off your power copying abilities from the other students and staff in the school.
You were about to catch a quick catnap when you hear a knock on the door. "Calvin, open up. I have a mission for you." The voice of Kitty Pride rings through the room.

"Ah, Kitty." he chimes, unlocking the gate to his specialized room. "Sure thing. I just hope I don't phase through the floor like last time. Still don't see you literally pull yourself together from that."
It was good to be in good company, now more than ever. Especially if you were labeled a freak or spawn of Satan by the likes of bigoted baselines. Tensions like that sometimes made it worth being an X-Man...to see a beacon of light in the profound darkness.

Kitty enters the room, and you feel yourself copying her power. "We got a situation in Times Square, The Sinister Six are holding a building hostage, and Spider-Man is on the moon with the other Avengers, so we got the request for help. I need a flyer to book it there ASAP, so whaddya say, up for a little heroism?"
(OOC: You have copied Kitty's Phase Shift: 10 (efficient), and Limited Prescience (Phase Shift.))

"No prob." Calvin replied. "I'll pick up shawarma on the way for the kids....Going up!"
Using Shadowcat's phasing ability, he air-walked up. Once he reached the ceiling, he spread his wings to jet to the crime scene.

You fly up through the school, and sail off towards Times Square. You feel The abilities you copied from Kitty fade as you soar over the city. You soon spot the building in question surrounded by police.

"Cops, eh?" Cal muttered as he sailed above the Yankee skyline. "Should I land and ask what happened recently?...Nah. They probably don't trust 'freaks' like me. Better go at this my way. The way I know how."
He used his previous experience as a criminal to scout out the most obvious areas where super-thugs like the Sinister Six would be causing their trouble.

You realize the most likely place to gain entry was from the rooftop door. At least if they had recruited a flyer like Vulture, or Hobgoblin.

"Going down."
He landed near the door and slowly but surely unlocked it. Stereotypical as they may be, the Sinister Six were still dangerous criminals. Calvin would have to be on his heels if he wanted to make it back to Westchester in one piece.

You make it inside and slowly work your way down the stairs. You detect a presence at the bottom of the stairs. Mac Gargan... The Scorpion!

Looks like Gargan was the first to go. From what Mimic recalled, Scorpion was enhanced with arachnid abilities on par with Spider-Man and wears a special suit to let him launch acidic blasts.
"Note to self." Cal thought. "Acid is a no-no."

You try to sneak by Scorpion as you feel yourself copying his abilities. Only for Gargan to smash his tail into you from the side. Knocking you against the wall. "Nice try, but you're not fooling me that easy Cal!" Gargan yells remembering you from your prison stays. "The hell you doing here? Spider-Man got so bored he called in a second string X-Man wannabe." He taunts.
(OOC: You have now copied Scorpion as per Hulk/Avenger Guide but with Str: 7, Insanity Mental Defense: 4, and Toughness: +1) No Damage but Gargan's tail has you pinned against the wall)

The temperature in the immediate area began to drop as Mimic readied himself.
"Nope." he replied, eyes burning red. "He's way too busy to deal with the likes of you."

You freeze and break Scorpion's tail before blasting him through a wall... You hear growling and roaring as you spot three lions in the next room. Big cats in New York, it can only be the work of Kraven the Hunter.

"Okay...nice kitties." Mimic replied, slowly backing up as he attempted to imitate a trick he learned from Xavier. "I'm not food, alright? But I know something that wants YOU on its dinner plate."
Hopefully these lions weren't as preceptive as Scorpion was.

You trick the cats into running off in fear into the corner. Just then you feel an axe bounce off your telekinetic barrier.
"My cats may be scared of your parlor tricks Mimic, but Kraven the Hunter will not be deterred from hanging those wings on my Mantle." He says from across the room. Too far to effectively copy from your position.
