It's a long tradition in both Marvel & DC to ignore the Mini/Limited series as they aren't part of the main continuityYeah but once you’re pulling art from the series for the bio I think that sorta means you should count it. Not since Joe Q took over anyway. Not really, I used to moderate there. It only figures that I’m going to remember stuff from the three years I worked there. The guy who founded the site is Eric J. Moreels. Great guy (you know, for an Australian ) I know that (in fact, I can safely say I knew that before anyone else here did . However he didn’t write the Spider-Man bio for CXF (heck, he doesn’t even have time to oversee the running of the bios section, he delegates most of the administrative tasks to others these days); another former staffer did that bio. Eric also isn’t the one doing Spider-Man related bios for the Handbooks; he’s their main X-Men resource guy. He also wrote the X-Men Encyclopedia a few years back.

Just as long as you round out the Sinister Six (and maybe Venom-Scorpion from the MK Spiderman series), I don't care how obscure you get.
It's free and I don't complain.

Additional Cage thought: This isn’t really a complaint (since, as far as I know we were never given specifics so it isn’t like they could do anything about it anyway) so much as it is me thinking out loud but, in the last Heroes for Hire series it was mentioned that Luke is more educated than he lets on and actually speaks several languages. It’s a shame they never told the reader which ones they were so someone could adjust his social skills. Heh, this is a case where the Guide really would benefit from being “official” if only because then the writers might have had a shot to get the info from Marvel. Still, despite me having some previously mentioned reservations about Cage being in this book in the first place, his profile is still by far one of the best – official or otherwise – I’ve seen for this game. You guys even remembered that he’s a film buff. Sweet Christmas! Just as long as you round out the Sinister Six I have serious doubts that they’ll include Gog What? He was a member! Eh, the core book gave us Venom’s stats and the Scorpion’s stats are buried along with the Shocker’s stats in the Masters of Evil section of the Avengers Guide so VenoMac shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. I expect that if we get another symbiote it’ll be Toxin (since Hybrid and the others aren’t very well known)

Hi there! This is Danny, aka Ozbot, an Unofficial Editor, here to answer your comments (in an unofficial capacity, of course!) Our editing staff has been overwhelmed with the responce so far, both on this board and elsewhere, and we are happy to serve and hope to provide bigger and better stuff to come.
Some specific reactions to the characters we've chosen: Some of you have correctly deduced that the reason we chose the characters that we did is because this is not just Spidey's Guide, but it is Spidey's Guide to NEW YORK. We also wanted to follow the pattern of past books and include a large selection of heroes as well as villains (and even still the number of villains in this roster outnumber the heroes.) While we have tried to include a number of obscure villains, we were not able to include all of them due to space constrictions.
Specific character comments: Arcade: He was a serious consideration for the book (but unfortunately he was outvoted.)
Blade: Dracula, Van Helsings, Hannibal King? No.. but we assure you; he won't be lonely. You'll see that the supernatural/horror theme (which we feel IS somewhat appropriate to Spider-Man and New York, though not as much as it would be in a Dr. Strange Book, for which there are no current plans) is a theme that weaves its way through the book, and we're not just talking about the character profiles, either!
Cloak: Cloak was actually written up as "intangible" originally, but then we opted for simplicity and steamlined a bunch of seperate Actions into related Actions & Modifiers.
Cyclone: "That was my goof," says Mike, our Profile section editor, "I had originally meant to include the ORIGINAL Cyclone, but the person who wrote up the stats wrote up the 2nd Cyclone instead, and I never bothered to correct them. I decided to keep him due to his Maggia relations, when I had intended to include Maggia characters as part of the Team Generator. When the team Generator was dropped, I didn't think to drop Cyclone as well."
Tweaks:
We've tried to cover all bases here, but we realize that there will always be actions we could have added, but didn't. And once again that we only use the chart provided in the game system as guidelines. Many of the characters that have been printed up in the previous rosters also do not strictly adhere to the chart in the main book, so we follow suite with our own characters; rather than strictly adhere to the benchmark chart, we prefer to balance power levels against other characters. However, with that said, please feel free to make tweaks according to your own needs/preferences.
To Browiw:
Thanks to Browiw! We appreciate your support! But we must admit that it is nice that at least we've got people talking, and most is complimentary. We do appreciate everyone's comments and constructive criticism. Regarding your Venom request; look for some updates to his character profile in the GM Section. And did I happen to mention that the Sinister Six is my favorite team of all time? We've got quite the treat for you....

BTW there is an updated version of Profile Pak 1 on the spideyguide site. It looks like the Calypso error is fixed and something about Cyclone's wind screen force field thingy.

Thanks for the additional character write-up. We were not able to include everyone we would have liked to... so it is always great to see members of the community step in to cover the characters that we left out.
