I don't think I've ever heard someone say "aboot?"
Also, although I'm not one of the super-Admins, I don't see why plugins shouldn't just be added. It's not like they're mandatory and I doubt they'd impact functionality; they just provide more options.

Cool, I'm just going to install the colour-saving thingy then. I don't mind playing it safe and asking people for opinions about plugins and stuff - some can be really annoying and get in the way of a player's routine, and that's the opposite of what I'm trying to accomplish. I figure it doesn't hurt to ask ahead of time, though it's easy to remove plugin if it's bothersome.
GA: I'll look for one with glowing text, feels like there ought to be one by now.

To my surprise, I wasn't able to find a plugin that supports glowing text, nor dropshadows, even though we used to have them before the board update. I'll keep looking - we can't be the only ones looking for it - but it doesn't look good. T__T
EDIT: You can still do shadowing, but there is no button for it. And I don't think this works in IE, whereas glowing only works in IE, or something like that. Sounds like it's complicated.

Hey gang, I have another couple suggestions for plugins that I thought I'd quickly run by you folk: 1) Reply Button in Posts and Recent Posts is kinda self-explanatory: It adds a reply button in more places on the site, so that you don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, or do more clicking when viewing recent posts - one click and you're replying. 2) Posting Templates supposedly allows you to go into your settings to set up some pre-determined text that you can later select from a drop-down box when replying to a post; that text (which can include code/tags) then just gets inserted into your post. I figure this should be handy for quickly adding all that "health/energy/action one/action two/defense" stuff we usually add during combat - especially for players who like to include a ton of detail for their GM. Unless there are objections, I'll probably install these tomorrow so we can try them out. ~TWF

They sound cool, I don't know if I personally will use them (unlike the recent threads lovely shortcut) but I can see how they are useful.

Posting Templates sounds very useful, so I'm all on board with that.
The Reply Button seems somewhat unnecessary but I stand by my earlier assertion that, even if unnecessary, if things don't take away functionality, they should be added if possibly useful.

Got a question, something I just noticed. When I post, on the post writing screen, there is the following sentence at the bottom: "The thread in which you are posting has no effects applied to it." ....What if there was? What 'effects' might be applied to threads?

I think it's some text effect or something like that that you can add. Nothing more

I think that's just telling you that the thread has not been stickied or locked or had other admin stuff done to it. Not sure why they would bother to tell us, but there it is. lol

Did the template thing ever get installed? That sounds extremely handy. Generally I will just hit the 'quote' button and change the stuff I need but when I'm in a rush it can come out a mess. No great hardship but the template thing just sounded easier and faster
