The Human Torch

Johnny Storm had been confident about getting home... until he'd seen the sight of Thor's indestructible hammer bouncing from an energy field keeping them on the planet.

That had shaken him.

Thor was a god.

Well, not the God,l but the ancient Scandinavian cultures had worshipped him and his people as gods, made them legendary and that legend had strengthened with his exploits as an Avenger...

And yet Thor had been as powerless as the rest of them against the might of this 'Beyonder'.

All of a sudden Johnny didn't feel so confident. He sighed, tried to keep a brave face on him as he walked through the living quarters and made his way to what passed for a kitchen to find something to eat. After that he would regroup with the others, hook up with Ben, Spidey and work together to somehow win this war and get home.

ACTIONS

Go along with whatever plan Captain America comes up with. I guess we find the bad guys and clobber them, but things might not be quite that straightforward...

"Breathtaking..." Magnus muttered to himself as he settled to admire the view. The view was non-Euclidean, but it defied all explanation and logic.

Somehow, that was comforting. However, the Master of Magnetism couldn't get attached to this panorama. His mission to return to Earth still stands.

Spider-Man continued to let the auto-doc do it's work, and hoped he wasn't talking in his sleep. Giving away his secret identity after all of the things he'd been through to protect it would be a real disappointment.

The Hulk rises with a big yawn. That'd be really nice Shell-Head. I just find it ABSOLUTELY mind boggling that there is no better facility to secure these criminals. Maybe your technology could interface with this facility and enlighten us further in it's capacity?

Day 1, Evening

As Hulk asks Iron Man if he can do something that Rhodey has no idea how to do, the Human torch looks for a kitchen. (Only the X-Men are aware of the auto-kitchen located by Wolverine.)

In Magneto's fortress, Magnus hopes to find something useful in the 1-100 Chemical Storage room.
A particular chemical will be found on a successful Green Intuition FEAT roll.

Wolverine dug right into the assortment of foods and once he finished went back towards the Professor to inform him of his findings.

Johnny figured he'd get some rest. Aside from Spidey and Ben, the others were mostly Avengers or X Men - all worthy heroes and allies, but he didn't know them from adam and he was probably the youngest - or on a par with Spiderman at any rate - and so they'd probably not relate to his life of dating girls, driving fast cars and dating girls, being the hottest superhero around and finding more girls to date.

Cars. Yeah, he missed cars too.

With a shrug he turned to Ben Grimm. "Hey Ben, let's take a good look round the place and find somewhere to crash for the night. Who knows what tomorrow might bring?"

ACTIONS

Unless we come under attack or the Hulk goes crazy, Johnny will look the place over then find somewhere to hit the sack for the evening. The kitchen might be worth a stop off to eat whatever alien slurm passes for food.

"It doesn't look like they're going anywhere any time soon, but I agree: we should try to find somewhere more secure to hold them," Iron Man nodded at the Hulk's suggestion of finding alternative accommodations for their prisoners, "I'll ask around, and see if anyone else has found anything. Sit tight, Doc."

With that said, Rhodey hurried off to find one of the other heroes who had been brought along to relieve the Hulk from his guard duties, while also checking to see if anyone had discovered another part of the base during their explorations that might serve as a suitable jail cell.

Day 1, Evening: Magneto's Fortress

With Good Intuition, Magneto needs a 46 to find hydrofluoric acid. For this roll Karma will be used, but from now on, not Karma will be allowed to find things, because it makes it too easy to find anything you want.

The hydrofluoric acid is of 1-100 Amazing (50) technology rank. Therefore, Magneto, with Incredible Reason but no talent for chemistry, is required to make a RED Reason FEAT roll to make use of this dangerous acid. Be careful, failing the REASON feat roll can be hazardous to Magnus's Health.

There are acids that are far more powerful than hydrofluoric, but few which are as dangerous to humans. In its gaseous form, it can easily burn the eyes and lungs, but in liquid form it is particularly insidious. When exposed to the human flesh, it is initially painless. The fact that it doesn't hurt means people can become seriously exposed without even realizing it. It seeps through the skin and into the bloodstream, where it reacts with the calcium in the body. In the worst cases, it can soak through the tissue and destroy the underlying bone!

Day 1, Evening: Herobase

Wolverine informs Charles Xavier of the Auto-Kitchen, but not Johnny Storm. So Johnny needs to search around with his buddy Ben instead.

The Human Torch finds: 1-100 more Monitor Machinery, just like that found by Web-Head earlier.

The Thing finds: 1-100 an Auto-Kitchen! And tells Johnny just as soon as he first fixes himself a sandwich.

Meanwhile, Iron Man goes to a 1-100 Vehicle Storage where he finds Captain Marvel inspecting 1-5 alien craft.

One of the vehicles is a 1-5 walker like the one Bulldozer and Piledriver used in the attack that afternoon. The other is a 1-5 flying sub.

The Human Torch

The Torch sniffs at the sandwich, sees Ben tucking in and shrugs. As they walk about the place he chit chats to his friend about the situation, about what they should do in order to get home, and who to trust. The X Men were an unknown, but so far they had done nothing to endanger...

Johnny stopped, frowned and glanced at the sandwich. Take people as they come. They were people, like him, not inhuman monsters.

Well, aside from maybe Wolverine. The guys' attitude stank and he was a small hairy bundle of anger seemingly.

With a shrug he carried on.

ACTIONS

Fed, find somewhere to hit the sack. Tomorrow will be another adventure...

OOC On another note that acid stuff sounds very like what some of our guys (not me, I transport coal and ballast for the most part) ship about. It's transported in a flask inside a box and comes with a special medical kit on board the loco in case things go bad. Not to save your life, but you inject this stuff that stops your body from dissolving and gives them enough of you left to bury. Nasty stuff.

Spidey continued his medically induced coma beauty rest, blissfully unaware that Johnny was out there wandering around with no one to mock him.

Sigh. This is getting very boring. The Hulk sits there waiting for news from Iron Man. He'll happily grab anyone else who happens by.
