ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/After a bit of a dramatic delay, the fourth and last Character Pak of profiles for Spider-Man's Guide to New York has been released! This latest Pak includes 16 characters from Sandman to White Tiger and should be a great addition to the currently released characters. In keeping with our goal to create character profiles that would print well, we have kept the print resolution to a high standard. As a result, this is the last of four Character Paks, and you access the previous three from our site: ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/The last Character Pak can be accessed from our website using this link: ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/SMGProfiles4.pdfAs you take a look at the character pak, feel free to pass along any thoughts, constructive criticism, and other feedback. Our past character paks have been improved through the feedback of the community... and we continue to appreciate the help. Thanks to all of you that have, and continue to, support us throughout this project! Keep an eye out for our next release. - The Unofficial Spider-Man Roster Book Development Team ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/

I really like the write-ups in this section, particularly Sandman, Shang Chi and Speedball.
Minor issues: Silver Sable, like Kraven, probably doesn't warrant a 7 in Close Combat. 6 definitely, but is she really Captain American caliber? Also, Tombstone's modifiers, particularly Toughness, seem a little high. I'd put both his Reflexive Dodge and Toughness 1 lower, although I agree on the No AP, no 2x damage bit.
But other than that, I really dig it. Great job.

ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/ Thank you for the kind words and the suggestions. Kraven the Hunter was a little different from Silver Sable in that his primary skills relate to hunting, so we could see lowering his combat skills to a 6, but we feel that Silver Sable is a different case. She's proven herself to be good enough to take on the Punisher (who also has a Close Combat value of 7), and like Captain America, she trains daily and engages in extremely strenuous workout sessions which test her combat abilities to the full, sometimes even against multiple opponents at once. She's even been known to hold business meetings while fighting off sparring partners! But if it came down to a fight against Captain America, we're still betting on Captain America to win with his higher durability, and +6 sheild. Tombstone is said to have "lightening fast reflexes". We originally gave him a +2, because we didn't feel that a +1 was high enough to reflect this. At the same time, however, we realize that Tombstone's main defense should be from his toughness, so we gave him Toughness at 1 point higher than his reflective dodge. However, considering the fact that he WAS stabbed with a pitchfork by Robbie Robertson, you may just be right. We will follow your suggestion and lower both values by 1 point in our update. Thanks for the compliments regarding Sandman, he was definitely a challenge. to convert due to his density control, Sand Mastery, virtually range-less stretching ability, as well as the ability to add additional sand to increase his mass and strength. We originally gave him the new Action Body Weapons, but later took that away, deciding that his ability to stretch would simulate this ability better. It was also tough trying to balance the stats so that Sandman was neither too powerful, nor too weak. We're glad you liked the final version. (We had to change him a few times before we were finally happy with his character sheet which was part of the reason for the delay.) We're glad you liked Shang-Chi (What did you think of his Mastery of Kung-Fu? Pretty cool, huh?) as well as Speedball. By the way, there is an error that appears on Speedball's character sheet under Immunity to Kinetics. He shouldn't be able to transfer more than his AN into bouncing so the number he should be able to redirect is 5, not 6 stones of impact. And now we need to enlist everyone's help. One of the commenters on our site has suggested that Speedball was immune to E.S.P. and had extremely high resistance to Mind Control. We have not come across this in our research. Is this true? If so, what mental defense modifier would he deserve? Keep the Feedback Coming! - The Unofficial Spider-Man Roster Book Development Team ozbot.typepad.com/spideyguide/

I've been looking and haven't found anything about Speedball having any form of Mental Defense.

Sandman – Incredibly minor nitpick; the Outlaws should probably be listed under Affiliations (unless, of course, you’re treating them as a Defenders-esque “non-team”) Shang - Chi – Treating his Mastery of Kung-Fu as a cross between Ninja and an actual Mastery is a pretty innovative way of handling his unique skill set. This is certainly one of the more impressive bios. You even got the Fishing Shathra – Couldn’t she shape shift too? Heh, I can’t help but laugh at her totem mod; now Spidey really does have an excuse for acting like an idiot around totems. Perfect. Silver Sable – Why would she have a close combat score higher than Shang-Chi’s Mastery of Martial arts? Speedball – Looks good. Speed Demon – High enough speed to keep up with Quicksilver in the short run but not enough durability to keep up indefinitely. Seems like the right way to handle him. Spider-Woman – Not familiar enough with her to really judge this one. I am kind of curious as to what caused her to be picked over the other Spiders. I guess she (along with Purple Man) was a latter addition meant to reflect the MU after you guy announced plans for this book. Stilt-Man – It looks like you remembered all his combat and escape modifications but you seem to have completely spaced on his actual thieving gear. He really ought to have tiny saws for cutting, vacuum attachments to suck up precious gems, ect. Tarantula – Gah, couldn’t you have done someone more threatening (like the Spot ) instead? Tombstone – It’s fitting that this stone cold killer gets a rock solid bio. Nice work. Turbo – I can’t say I really expected her. It isn’t like she’s one of the more classic Warriors. In fact, if it weren’t for guys like Hindsight Lad and Microbe, I’d consider her a weak link. Still it looks like it was well done. Typhoid – I honestly didn’t expect her here. Neat. I like the way you handled the multiple personalities (though doesn’t she actually have three of them) as transform self (though I guess you could say the precedent was already set with the Hulk anyway ) Vermin – Looks good. Vulture – Perfect. Werewolf – Jack may not fit very well here but he’s a pleasant surprise. I either missed or forgot the hint you said you dropped White Tiger – Damn, I was hoping for Hector or Kasper.

My comments:
1. When the character contest was announced, you said it was starting with Shathra. This caused me to think you were leaving out Sandman. And then finding him in there was a nice surprize. Just so you know, in the future, don't do that unless it's for real.
2. I think Shriek should have been included, but I'm not going to complain unless she isn't in the extra characters I'll get to see for winning a contest. (I also kinda feel this way about Alistair Smythe and some of the spider-slayers.) 2.5 I was kinda surprized that none of the other Spider-Women were in there, but I can't say I really miss any of them. It's not like I'm crying about it or anything.
3. Although Silver Sable's close comabt of 7 may seem better than Shang-Chi's Mastery of Kung-Fu at-a-glance, there's more to consider than just the Action Number. -Shang-Chi can punch through a concrete wall because of Kung-Fu. Silver Sable would break her hand (and likely her whole arm) if she tired. -Weapon Modifier AND Agility Bonus vs. Weapon Modifier OR Agility Bonus. -Create/Adapt Kung-Fu techniques ('nuff said) -How much does that Mastery of Kung-Fu cost? It's gotta be somewhere around +7 levels!!
4. Speedball's Picture pokes out the bottom of its frame just a little. It's barely noticeable, but you might want to fix it.
5. According to New Avengers #14, Spider-Woman can fly. Not just glide, but actually FLY. I dunno much about her other than what I read in that issue, though, since the nearest comics shop closed about that time. However, if your write-up is intended to reflect the classic Spider-Woman that's fine too, I'd just like an explanation.
6. Stilt-Man?!?! Why on earth should I care?
7. I'd agree with the idea that Tombstones modifiers seem a bit high, but since it's been explained how it happened, it's entirely forgiveable.
8. Typhoid wasn't really expected, but DEFINATELY turned out to be a nice surprise.
9. Vulture was just plain required.
10. A lot of characters I didn't really recognize were in this one, and the means I need to read more comics, which would be fine if there were a nearby comics shop and I had a job, but...
