I don't have my books on hand, but it pretty explicitly says that you get the advantages.

I don't have my books on hand, but it pretty explicitly says that you get the advantages. While I don't find it explicit at all, I think I'm getting what you mean. Under Examples of element blasts, the examples have advantages included in them. Like fire has "x2 damage", Ice has "normal damage, may attack vs. durability to petrify, freeze, encase in ice, but not kill. Succeeds if any damage occurs, duration = 1 panel/stone of damage" I'm guessing you mean the examples show that the force blasts inside the masteries have their own advantages/disadvantages built into them, but that they don't apply to the whole mastery? Also, when looking at the builds of some of the masteries, like for example Human Torch's fire mastery, the x2 damage included in the force blast option doesn't seem to be calculated into the total cost. Building it with all the costs including x2 damage should give +8 to cost, not +6. So I take it that's what you meant by explicitly says? Peace. P.S: Oh and if this is what you meant, then I wonder... what would you consider to be appropriate Advantages/Disadvantages for a Gravity based force blast?

Hmm. To me "Get a force blast with appropriate effect (+1 to Cost Level)" reads as get a force blast of, say ice if you have an ice mastery, or plasma if you have a plasma mastery, etc. As in the effect means a force blast that has the element of your mastery, not that it has free advantages or disadvantages. But either way, the GM will decide. Just think you may be wrong in your interpretation of it. Just my 2 cents Peace. Again, the examples given on page 55 clearly outline suggested advantages and effects for elemental force blasts, and then give you examples of complete masteries with cost schemes. Have a look at the "Human Torch: Fire Mastery" one; do the math, and you'll see that it gives you a x2 damage force blast for only +1 CL. But yeah, GM will decide. ^__^ GL! ~TWF
