You navigate the icy streets of windhelm as best you can in high heels. Might not be a bad time to switch to some better clothing. Especially if your gonna be heading out soon.
You enter the palace of the kings... and immediately somehow step on two flawless diamonds on the ground at the same time, breaking both your heels.
On the plus side at least the palace's stone floors are freshly swept, and heated to boot.

Anaya Rosethorne
Anaya sighed as she 'Diivoned' her broken high heels away (and recovered the diamonds), switching to more appropriate, yet finely crafted fur boots around her legs. She also used the opportunity to change her outfit to that of a Nord noblewoman which she have had custom-made for her by a skilled tailor in Solitude; it was a bit sexier than most loose outfits familiar to the Nords, yet it was fairly good against cold nonetheless, with a good-looking yet comfortable fur shin-length skirt, which combined with her boot gave her both good look and comfort in the Northern regions of Skyrim.
"I wonder just how many pairs I've broken in the last three years... a hundred? More?", Anaya said with a hint of melancholy.
After that rather amusing little pause, the Dragonborn moved on to meet with Ulfric. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 stones (Ef.) in Dragon Shout (Carry Gear) to switch my outfit to aforementioned Nord Noblewoman outfit, custom-made to look good and protect against cold (+3 defense), along with stylized fur boots, until we get to warmer climates. You walk up to the Throne room where Ulfric is running over business with Galmar, and a few businesspeople from Windhelm. You also see Brewoulf Free-Winter acting as the usual mouthpiece for the non-nortds of the city.

Anaya Rosethorne
Anaya walked up to wait for her turn to talk to the future High King; as Stormblade and Thane of Windhelm or not, it would be quite rash and improper to interrupt them.
As she did, she gave a polite nod to Brunwulf, with whom she had several interesting discussions in the past. Unlike many Nords, Anaya had never been especially dismissive of other species, but the man had convinced her to see the other denizens of Skyrim fairly as equals, so she was a strong support to his politics, using her own influence to help make them be more accepted within Skyrim.

"Ah Stormblade, my sister-in-arms... It is great to see you again. What can I do for you?" Ulfric asks in a jovial mood.

"Greetings, Jarl Ulfric..." Anaya said with a light smile. "You seem in fairly high spirits... did something good happen?"

"Only news of a potential new Alliance. The return of the Ebonheart Pact. But I will not bore you with such details, what brings you to see me?"

Anaya Rosethorne
"...Hm. That is good news, indeed." Anaya said, surprised. Something such as the Ebonheart Pact, made reality again? ...It could very well be the beginning of a new era for Skyrim, Morrowind and Black Marsh. Also a sign that the Nords were finally becoming more open towards other species...
"What brings me...? Well, good news of my own, though of a lesser, more personal scale. I have acquired a ship, the Maelstrom Goddess*... you might have heard of it, I hear it was for sale for a while now. At any rate... I thought perhaps you might give me a lead as to where I could find skilled, loyal crewmen to sail it." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *OOC: How I named the ship. If you don't mind, it was already named so before I acquired it and Anaya kept the name.
6 stones into Social Skills (Kind and cheerful, Heroine, Dragonborn) to ask Ulfric for help in finding a crew. ^_^

Ulfric remains deep in thought. "I see. Well you could scour the Inns looking for mercenaries willing to try their luck on the high seas. "I can also put out the word throughout Skyrim that the Stormblade is looking for crewmen. First I'd recommend you find a loyal first mate. Someone to manage your crew while you are out at sea. I have just the man in mind. Head to the Inn and look for an Orc named Gronkak Ur-Ubb. He was a sailor in the Imperial Navy before he came to Skyrim. I admit I don't trust him very much, but he's shown no signs of being a spy, or imperial agent."

Anaya Rosethorne
"That'd be a very good start, 'tis true", Anaya said with a smile. A first mate would be prefect. After all... I won't always be on that ship. Gronkak Ur-Ubb, was it?... Thanks for your help, my Jarl. I believe I will get working on this right away."
She bowed politely:
"I won't distract you any longer. Have a good day... and if you ever need my help, you know how to contact me. Farewell!"
With a smile to her wife, Anaya headed out, to make her way to the Inn.

You walk out of the palace, but Serana is not around. She must be off doing something else, as you arrive in the Inn you head upstairs to see a heavily scared bald Orc with a mace for a left hand drinking from a mug.

Anaya Rosethorne
"Uh?...", The Dragonborn let out, a bit surprised. Serana had left without a word... Not that it wasn't her style, of course; she liked being a bit mysterious, fathomless. Still, it was a bit surprising whenever she did vanish like that. The girl smiled, making her way to the Inn.
Arriving next to an orc she figured might very well be the one she had been seeking, she asked simply:
"Good day, friend. I apologize for interrupting your drink... My name's Anaya. I am looking for an experienced sea-faring man, and the name Gronkak Ur-Ubb came up... might I ask if it is familiar to you?", she asked politely, fairly sure it was the man himself... but she wasn't one to assume so easily. Too often, things weren't what one expected. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4 stones into Social Skills (Kind and Cheerful, Charm, Dragonborn) to introduce myself and ask the orc if he knows (and indirectly, if he is) Gronkak Ur-Ubb.

Anaya Rosethorne"Then regardless of how this conversation goes, the next drink is on me", Anaya said, putting 20 gold on the table, enough for a bottle of Honningbrew mead or a couple of more ordinary wine. "My business is simple... I'm looking for a capable crew and a loyal... and an experienced first mate... to handle the duties of my new ship, the Maelstrom Goddess, which I acquired very recently. I've also heard you might be the man I am looking for, considering your experience and reputation." She smiled, crossing her hands on the table. "I won't hide it, chances are traveling with me won't be boring at all, and most likely a bit dangerous. As you might have heard... I am the Dragonborn, and also a few other things. That brings powerful allies, and also very troublesome enemies. Still, Ulfric Stormcloak recommended you specifically and by name, and I trust the man's judgment." Seeing Serana return, she gave her a smile and a nod, before concluding: "...In short, I seek the honor of having you as first mate, Gronkak. Would you happen to have any interest in sailing the seas again aboard my ship?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6 stones into Social Skills (Kind and cheerful, Charm, Heroine) to convince Gronkak to join my crew as First mate.
