So far, I've got PM's from about 3 players, one badass human descendant of the Punisher, whatever Dhark decides on (a wide range of options), and one mutant descendant from Spider-Man. I want to get this rolling relatively quickly, so I'm going to accept applications until this coming Wednesday, June 7th. I'm not first come first serve, but my ideal range of players is probably 4-6, and I'm very happy with what I got so far.

Why must you always come up with such cool concepts?
If I can get through all the posts I need to get caught up on for my games (most of which are yours DK =P I'll try to pull some of the ideas I'm having together into a character pitch for you.

I have a flying Juggernaut type in, a Telepath in (called Incubus for thematic reasons), and am working on a descendent of Psylocke right now too.

Some bullet point notes on the Houses, and some other ideas.
House Xavier * Charles Xavier is venerated as a “potential Phoenix Host” by the Church of the Phoenix, and has found a degree of popular worship amidst Phoenix worshippers as a sort of saint-like figure. Xavier is worshipped as a patron to mutant psychics, a healer of mental illness, and a protector of humans. More than one cruel slave-owner has had a mysterious comeuppance that could not be attributed to be his faithful worshippers. * The various “Institutes,” the most famous being the ancient site at Westchester, are tended by the Penitents, mutant ascetics (typically psychic but not always) who have sworn vows of subservience and sacrifice for stewardship over mutant education. In Manhattan they operate out of the remains of an ancient library. Due to Xavier's status in the Church of the Phoenix, many members of House Xavier, and an overwhelming majority of the Penitents, belong to that religion, although any influence ony might have over the other is unofficial. * House Xavier offers great advancement for mutant telepaths especially, or mutants interested in knowledge or learning (the few members of the house who pursue sorcery do so in great secrecy and oftentimes without the knowledge of any of their fellow house-members.) The more conservative members of the house are often in conflict with the younger, more radical, human-rights-focused members. This gives House Xavier a reputation as being weak, although it boasts a sizeable constituency and a variety of powerful mutants amongst its members.
House Magnus * House Magnus is the house that allows mutants with non-standard appearances the most room for advancement. Oftentimes these members go out of their way to ensure the "obviously mutated" are contacted and trained as soon as possible. As a result, although Xavier boasts more comprehensive training regiment, Magnus are on average the youngest House in terms of membership age. Some of this bloc refer to themselves as the Morlocks, either in honor of an ancient group of mutants who were victims of mutant violence before the Great War or mockingly by their detractors, it is hard to tell which interpretation of the name came first. * Due to the stewardship of Manhattan Island, house member Lord Magnus has to take pains to distance himself from the house in his decisions. This makes him a divisive member amongst the others, though all respect his military acumen and his pedigree. * House Magnus has a reputation for being a 'martial' house, many of their greatest members have reputations as great warriors, and House-trained soldiers have been fighting on the front lines since the days of the Great War (or so they claim.) Many of the most famous military strategists have been claimed as members by House Magnus (even if they fought before the Great War and the founding of the Houses...) The Cult of Hercules is disproportionately highly worshiped in House Magnus, compared to the public at large, but the Church of the Phoenix remains dominant. * House Magnus has an unofficially neutral stance on wizardry, in defiance with church practices. Individual members are allowed to pursue these at their discretion with only concern given to their degree of discretion.
House Hellfire * Maintains a chess motif within the House: low-level operatives are Pawns or Knights (most Pawns and many Knights don't even bother denoting their rank with outsiders,) Bishops and Rooks are more specialized and have more responsibilities, Kings and Queens provide rulership and grant their underlings with greater. There are four full “courts” of Hellfire corresponding to colors: Red, Black, White, and Grey. Each court is associated with certain elements and has a certain reputation: Red Court is the most creative and willful, often full of young upstarts, they get more done but often lack the patience of the other courts; Black pursues predominantly commercial endeavors and include the wealthiest members, their slave holdings are immense, and they have the closest bonds to Atlantis of any of the Courts; White Court works the closest with the Church of the Phoenix particularly through an intermediary group dedicated to the veneration of Emma Frost, they also work closest to preserve bonds within the House, and, ironically given their closeness to the Church, to the pursuit of wizardry; and the Grey Court is considered the most militaristic and the most logical, many of the more combat-minded House members come from this Court. It is no wonder, given the amount of individual ambitions being realized, that the courts are scheming against each other with as much frequency as they scheme against the other houses. * House Hellfire is smaller, relatively, compared to Xavier and Magnus, but it dedicates the most resources towards refining its members, often relying on Xavier for education and Magnus for military might. At times it has seemed doomed to extinction but repeatedly survives any attempts from within or without to eradicate its members.
The Darkholme Family * A large extended family, traces its lineage back to a legendary matriarch, Raven Darkholme, also known as Mystique, who's blue-tinted skin is considered a stereotypical feature of house members. Most members are Shapeshifters or Metamorphs of some kind, but more esoteric mutations are also known to manifest in conjunction with or in place of these. All members of the organization either can trace their lineage back to Mystique or are married to a member who can. * The Darkholmes are involved in two illicit businesses. The first, publicly acknowledged, involves their shapeshifting talents being used in conjunction as courtesans. Darkholme courtesans have a reputation for having a certain dark intensity that can provoke obsession in others. They also have a rumored reputation as spies and assassins. Any Darkholme will acknowledge the first and deny the second, and will be quick to remind a questioner no Darkholme has ever been formally implicated in such activities. It is, ironically, the worst kept of secrets. * The Darkholmes are entrenched in House Magnus, although both claim no official involvement in the other. House Magnus has been burned more than once by Darkholme espionage efforts to suggest one being an arm of the other, unless you're an especially paranoid member of another House.

Just got some awesome concepts from Andrew and Gris... I already feel my idea of a relatively small group evaporating. DK Recruiting a New Game(And in case you've had the misfortune of having not seen the Marx Brothers in action before...)

I'm playing with the idea of a Teleporter, either a descendant or throwback to Nightcrawler or with some supportive telepathy (probably just the option to view psychic imprints off of objects). I'm still batting around if I'm going to make a submission though, it seems like you're at saturation already DK..

Excited to see what you come up with!

I think we settled on my submission being Incubus (House Hellfire, Red Bishop, and Telepath being the key components in addition to his insatiable appetite and compulsive flirting). Still tinkering and tweaking, unless the boss likes my most recent revision ;-)
