It's really pretty interesting. Like, I really enjoy that the MCU is generally not so grimdark (although it's still suffering in the wake of Nolan's Batmen), but they have to do stuff to establish that Daredevil is different from Hawkeye, Falcon, and Black Widow, all of whom are normal humans with respect to physical traits. The big problem I foresee is inconsistencies with how "normal" supers are presented. Is Daredevil going to need to spend a lot of time recovering from a single fight while Falcon gets up fine after being thrown out of a building? Are character tones going to be consistent with the character or with the series? If Daredevil shows up in Avengers, will he become more durable/if Falcon shows up in Daredevil, will he be more "human" in these respects? The comics have never been consistent with regards to what "normal" humans can do and survive having done to them, not even within the writing of the same "normal" human character, so why should the MCU? 8) My concern is more with respect to the intersection of films. Comics can get away with it a bit more because they release more content and readers kind of expect a tonal disconnect between the different books. Obviously there's no reason to worry about this with the movies, but it makes me wonder how they'll handle it when the audience is as broad as the MCU's audience tends to be. But to the original point, duh. Of course. My real life is violent and obscene so obviously that needs to be in movies.

If I were, I wouldn't be able to be a fan of virtually any of the genres that I am a fan of. What bothers me is when they're blatant and gratuitous. Any time I'm watching a movie and they pan to a club or someone's bedroom, and there just happens to be a handful of topless women hanging around who have no name and serve no purpose to the plot, I find that much more difficult to accept as part of the story. As far as the MCU goes... I suspect that if I watched the movies I could pick out a few scenes that demonstrate an uneven handling of what humans can and can't survive already existent within the canon. People getting thrown through or partially through brick walls isn't even all that uncommon in the action genre as a whole.

Daredevil is highly unlikely to cross-over into Avengers. I think he'd sooner cross-over into Agents of SHIELD, but even that seems unlikely. They're doing their own thing. I bet we'll hear (more) references to the other shows, but that's probably it.
And I suspect that Daredevil will at least be getting stitched up a lot, since Rosario Dawson is playing a Night Nurse-ish version of Claire Temple.
What I find funny about action shows is that people never lose teeth. They can get punched in the mouth an infinite number of times and only ever get that telltale split lip. Bruce Wayne should have a smile like a hockey player.

Anyone notice that Jack Murdock looks like Ben Affleck?

So apparently they're going with the concept that Fisk has united the various cultural organized crime organizations under his banner, at least loosely. I guess I'm okay with that

As it stands, this is already a four year project, I don't think they're setting up for another series so far down the road, I think its just a silly cliche from the comic books that allows them to bring in "exotic" criminals.

As it stands, this is already a four year project, I don't think they're setting up for another series so far down the road, I think its just a silly cliche from the comic books that allows them to bring in "exotic" criminals. It'll also help them build some parallels between Daredevil and Kingpin. They're both trying to clean up the streets and keep things under control, one wants to do this by eliminating crime and one wants to do it by controlling crime. It'd be cool if Punisher shows up in one of these shows, though, either as an ally or a rival. A full series focused on Punisher may be a little more R-rated than the MCU may want, but he could serve as an interesting foil to one of the four heroes.

So this is up, now! I had to stop midway through the first episode, but the most notable things so far are that the guy playing Matt Murdock is really good and the guy playing Foggy Nelson is really bad.

I mean, it's still only 20 minutes of one episode. He just seems so much like he's acting. The stakes are still low, so he may shine when there's more drama.

I have no idea what version of Foggy they're going for, since he's been portrayed a number of different ways over the years, but that actor has a strong record for playing "slightly goofy guy who might have more going on than he lets on", which is certainly one of the many portrayals of Foggy.
