Hello all. As the title suggests, I'm working on some stuff for a comedic style game along the vein Mystery Men. Another good source is the Peacesavers! game that was run on here several years back.
I'm looking for campy, over the top or comedic themes for this one. The Pc's are part of a young group trying to make a name for themselves. Unfortunately even though they really want to be good at the whole hero thing, they are seen more as a group of misfits, wack jobs, etc. Once accepted you guys can get together to decide how your characters know one another and how the team was formed. I'd also like to hear your thoughts on what the team name should be. I will start with 4--6 players, but will continue to look at submissions. If your CAD catches my eye I may add you as a new recruit, or possibly start up a sub-team Ala Windy City Mystery Men or whatever.
Stone count will be standard 40 stones Plus 10 in challenges. If I really like the CAD or if you can't fit your idea into the stone count then PM me anyway. If the idea is good then we can fudge the stone count a bit if need be. Basically concept trumps stone count with this one. House rules-wise, pretty much anything from the Spider-Man guide and House Rules Assemble is fine and you may use the Health/Energy/Recovery house rule.
Okay I hope to see some pretty hilarious submissions. In 3...2....1.....

My character is a guy in powered armor who isn't psychic, but he uses the suit's equipment and his con artist skills to pretend to be so he can profit from lucrative endorsement and book deals. (He has a specialty to Social Skills "convincing people he's psychic.") I think it's funny as hell...

May the fat ever be in your flavor.... That is oddly both an awesome and highly unpleasant phrase to read.

My concept is... Fangirl.
An actual anime/comics/youtube fangirl who somehow gained superhuman powers but doesn't quite realize that something is odd with her. Her abilities include 'Real Fanfic', creating exceptionally convincing illusions, usually of her favorite characters and scenes - especially from her fanfics - and 'Cosplay', the power to assume the appearance of characters she loves... possibly going up to actually summoning anime/comics characters if I have enough stones, but which will often be used for the stupidest of reasons. Like summoning Wolverine only to ask him to go out with her, or some crazy things like that. If a character is a hero, or a cool/sexy villain, she will usually fangirl over him/her. She kinda lives in her own world, but isn't so entirely out of it that she can't function properly, she just usually needs to be 'snapped out of it'. The truth of her powers is that she is actually a mystic, a human with natural magical powers, although she doesn't really know spells and does most of what she does instinctively. She's a popular Youtuber because of her amazing videos which are 'so realistic' and 'how the heck did you do that special effect?'
By the way, in the Health/Energy/Regen rule, do you get 5 Energy per AN in the Energy ability, or 3 as usual? I know some GMs use the former and others the latter...

Loving the concepts so far. I really enjoyed reading about Fatty in the Peacesavers! comics and look forward to watching him "Lay the fat down", on some 21 day miracle diet eatin' jabronis.
Energy is 3 per Ability Number.

I think my concept will be an overly gay man dressed as a unicorn... I feel that's where I should go

More details... FANGIRLEvery hero's most annoying #1 fan! QUOTE: "Ooooooooooooooooh, I GOTTA write a fanfic about this. You don't mind Yaoi, do you?" Real Name: Kathryn "Kat" Parker Age: 24 (Looks rather young, always gets carded when buying alcohol or walking in bars) Occupation: Geek, Fanfic writer, Gamer, Popular Youtuber Height: 5'6" Weight: 132 lbs Eye color: Blue Hair color: Brown Species: Human (Magus) NOTES-Can be as much a sweet fangirl as a creepy stalker -Glasses are prone to that glowy 'creepy anime glasses glare' when she's mad/preparing something/planning some weird fanfic -Is not especially brave; not because she's a coward, but because she thinks she's just a normal girl, not a superhuman. CHALLENGES-Minor disability (-1; shortsighted, needs glasses or takes this challenge's value as negative sitmods to actions requiring sight at more than 1 yard away) -Psychological (-2; Anime/Comics/Videogames otaku. Weird to most people, idolized by fellow otakus on the internetz. Often 'in her world', but can be snapped out of it.) -Psychological (-1; naive. Somewhat of a ditz at times, she tends to fall for lies fairly easily and seems to fail to notice things that are right in front of her unless they are painfully and obviously pointed out to her. For example, she never realized her special abilities were not normal and thinks that they're just 'something she can do'.) -C.T.S.U.F.U (-1; Kat is a good person, and wouldn't hesitate to help people if possible. She is not especially courageous though, lowering this challenge's value from what it could have been if she was more confident in herself.) -Obsession (-2; her latest fanfic, or writing a new one based on many things she will see a hero/villain do.) -Moderate delusion (-2; perfect love and romance awaits her somewhere, just like in a Shojo manga. She just has to find the Prince/Princess Charming. She ain't picky.) -Minority (-1; bisexual otaku. Kat is looking for true love, and is pretty open about who that might represent. She is also a pretty hardcore otaku. While there is nothing explicitly wrong with either and she isn't harming anyone, she might get judged and/or pestered by insensitive/close-minded people.)STORY: Kathryn "Kat" (only if you're hip) Parker always thought she was a normal geek girl. Unusually smart and witty, she loved computers, video games, movies, anime, comics, fanfics, writing fanfics, anime, comics, cat videos, reading manga, anime, comics, eroge, indie games, and also anime and comics. She decided she'd make it her job, and began making videos on Youtube. Surprisingly enough, her videos became exceptionally popular, real fast. Why? ...Maybe it was because she could create such amazing 3D animations of pretty much anything she wanted at an incredible speed, uploading one video per day. Maybe it was because of her formidable, over-the-top special effects and fight scenes. Maybe it was because of her funny, sweet and sometimes weird personality in her videos. Or perhaps was it because no available technology could make 3D effects as good as hers, especially not this quickly. Or because the seemingly so real characters she spoke with in some of her videos, were actually real. Or, you know... because she wasn'T actually using special effects or 3D animations, at all.Unbeknownst to her, Kat is a Mystic, a human naturally gifted with the art of Magic. While untrained and unaware of her gift due to her rather ditzy nature causing her not to even realize it wasn't normal to use such powers, she had formidable skill at manifesting scenes and events in real life by will alone, assuming the appearance of her favorite characters, and even bringing into reality certain characters for her to interact with directly. Regardless of whether she realized it or not, her fanfics, youtube videos, and personal appearances skyrocketed in popularity among geeks, as her number of subscribers rose to millions. Some people were fanboying over her, though not nearly as much as she fangirled over her favorite characters/actual heroes/villains. She never suspected, however, that she'd become a heroine herself...
